Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2015;35(4):323-326
OBJECTIVETo compare the difference in the clinical efficacy on endometriosis (EM) between electroacupuncture (EA) and western medication.
METHODSSeventy-two EM patients were divided into an EA group and a western medication group according to visiting departments, 36 cases in each one. In the EA group, acupuncture was applied to Qihai (CV 6), Guanyuan (CV 4), Zhongji (CV 3), Zigong (EX-CA 1), Diji (SP 8), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Hegu (LI 4) and Taichong (LR 3). After qi arrival, G6805-I pulse electronic apparatus was attached to bilateral Zigong (EX-CA 1), Guanyuan (CV 4) and Zhongji (CV 3), with continuous wave, 70 Hz in frequency, 3 mA in intensity. The EA was given once every two days. In the western medication group, mifepristone tablets were prescribed for oral administration, 12. 5 mg per treatment, once a day, for 6 months. The pain degree was observed before and after treatment and the clinical efficacy and recurrence rate were evaluated in the two groups. The enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA) was adopted to determine the tumor marker serum CA125 before and after treatment in the two groups.
RESULTSThe total effective rate was 94. 4% (34/36) in the EA group and was 91. 7% (33/36) in the western medication group, without significant difference (P>0. 05). The pain score after treatment was lower than that before treatment in the two groups (both P< 0. 01), but the score after treatment in the EA group was lower than that in the western medication group (P<0. 05). Serum CA125 was reduced after treatment in the patients of the two groups (both P<0. 01), and serum CA125 after treatment in the EA group was lower than that in the western medication group (P<0. 05). In the follow-up visit of one year, the reoccurrence rate was 17. 6% (6/34) in the EA group and was 33. 3% (11/33) in the western medication group, indicating the significant difference (P<0. 05).
CONCLUSIONEA achieves the significant clinical efficacy and the reoccurrence rate in 1 year in the EA group is obviously lower than that in the western medication group. This therapy could be promoted in clinical practice of acupuncture and moxibustion.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(04):-
Aim Telomerase is highly expression in most tumor cells, and it is an ideal target for cancer molecular targeting therapy. It has been proved that wogonin effectively inhibits telomerase activity and tumor cell growth in vitro. The study was to explore the inhibitory effect of wogonin on the growth of tumor and telomerase activity of implanted human ovarian cancer cell line SKOV3 in nude mice. Methods Nude mice with implanted human ovarian cancer cells SKOV3 were randomly divided into five groups, viz. the high dose group of Wogonin(600 mg?kg-1),low dose group of Wogonin(300 mg?kg-1),normal control group, cisplatin therapy group(3 mg?kg-1), and combined therapy group(cisplatin plus wogonin). The weight of nude mice and the volume of tumor were regularly measured. DNA、RNA and protein were extracted from the tumor tissue. The length of telomere was examined by Southern blot. The expression of telomerase hTERT gene was detected by RT-PCR. The telomerase activity was examined by TRAP-PCR-silver staining. Results The wogonin significantly inhibit the growth of tumor when compared with controlled group. The inhibitory rate of high dose group and low dose group were 56.67% (P=0.002) and 38.10%(P=0.019), respectively. The inhibition rate of cisplatin therapy group was 50.83%(P=0.004). The suppress rate of combined group reached 66.9% and higher than any single therapy(P=0.002). The length of telomere in different concentration groups of wogonin was the same as that in the control group.Wogonin inhibited the expression of telomerase gene hTERT and telomerase activity. The inhibition is related to the dose of wogonin. Conclusion Wogonin suppresses the growth and telomerase activity of tumor. The inhibitory effect is related to the dose of wogonin. Combination of wogonin and cisplatin increase the inhibitory rate in nude mice tumor.

Objective To explore the survival rate and early-term effects of sensory reconstruction of the modified first dorsal metacarpal artery (FDMCA) flap in treatment of thumb distal soft tissue defect. Methods From March 2004 to October 2007, 65 patients with soft tissue defects of the thumb underwent the FDMCA flap in our department. Forty-nine cases with complete data were included in the study. There were 37 males and 12 females, with an average age of 32 years (ranged, 18-65 years). The conventional surgical methods were used in 18 cases while the improved surgical methods were in 31 cases. The distal necrosis, the vascular crisis rate and the sensory recovery were recorded. Results The mean follow-up period was 2 years (ranged, 20 months to 3 years). Forty-six flaps survived completely. Vascular crisis occurred in five cases harvested by the conventional methods. Eventually, three of them had a partial distal necrosis.Improved FDMCA flap survived well in all 31 patients. Flaps in these patients with nerve anastomosis restored satisfied sense and all sense were located in the thumb. Eighteen cases of nerve transfer group had different levels of mixed feelings (33%) or ectopic sensory (62%). Sense was located in the thumb completely in 1 case. Conclusion The modified FDMCA flap significantly increased the survival rate. Neurorrhaphy could make the sense of the flap locate in the thumb; however it had not been proved that its impact on the recovery of two-point discrimination and stereognosis.

This study plans to prepare lipid bilayer-coated mesoporous silica nanoparticles (LMSNs) which are pH sensitive with core-shell structure to improve the tumor cell lethality of antitumor drug. The lipid coated mesoporous silica nanoparticles loaded with irinotecan (CPT-11) (CPT-11-LMSNs) were prepared by hot water-film hydration method, and the characterized its morphology, particle size and release in vitro. Meanwhile, the intracellular uptake and cell toxicity of CPT-11-LMSNs and intracellular accumulation of CPT-11 were evaluated on human breast carcinoma cell line (MCF-7). The results indicated that the mean diameter of the spherical LMSNs was (120.27 +/- 5.91) nm. The slow release in simulated normal physiological conditions and a rapid release under simulated intracellular condition demonstrated the pH sensitivity of CPT-11-MSNs in vitro. Moreover, the CPT-11-LMSN could improve the intracellular CPT-11 cumulant 2.1 times and reduce half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) values of CPT-11 1.4 times compared with CPT-11-MSNs, demonstrating a stronger cell lethality.

Chinese Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2021;36(1):14-18
Objective:To examine the occurrence of seizures and perioperative risk factors in children after obtaining cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB).Methods:Electroencephalograph (EEG) and cerebral oxygen saturation (ScO 2) were monitored in 87 patients (aged 3 days-110 months, with the median at 4.4 months) and they were admitted to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) from May 2018 to April 2019, with 77 patients for 72 h after CPB and 10 cases with clinical seizures after CICU discharge for 8-180 h. Clinical data were recorded every 4 hours, including blood pressure, central venous pressure (CVP), temperature, arterial blood gases, lactate, doses of Dopamine, Milrinone, and Adrenalin, and daily C-reaction protein (CRP) and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP). Demographic data, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons-European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery(STAT) mortality classification and clinical outcomes (duration of mechanical ventilation, CICU and hospital stay, and death) were recorded. Results:Seizures occurred in 24 patients (27.6%) within 48 h after CPB.EEG seizures appeared in 7 patients, both EEG and clinical seizures in 7 patients, and clinical seizures in 10 patients.Three patients developed epilepsy. There were 2 hospital deaths and both had EEG seizures.Patients with seizures had higher STAT categories, longer operative time and worse clinical outcomes (all P<0.05). Univariate regression revealed that the occurrence of seizures was positively related to adrenalin, temperature, lactate level (all P<0.01), blood pressure, CVP (all P<0.05) and CRP ( P<0.1), and negatively correlated with arterial carbon dioxide tension[ pa(CO 2)], ScO 2 and dose of Milrinone (all P<0.05). In multivariate regression, only dose of Adrenalin ( P<0.001) and lactate level ( P<0.01) remained significant. Conclusions:The incidence of seizures was high in children after CPB.Numerous perioperative factors that were related to seizures were identified. The most significant risk factors were higher dose of adrenaline and lactate level.Studies on neurological injury after CPB are urgently needed in China in order to reduce brain injury and improve neurodevelopmental outcomes.
