Objective To analyze the MRI features of central neurocytoma (CNC),and to improve the diagnostic accuracy of this lesion. Methods The MRI findings of 12 patients with CNC confirmed by surgery and pathology were evaluated retrospectively. All patients underwent contrast-enhanced and uncontrast-enhanced MR scan, and 3 patients also received plain CT scan. Results The lesions of 12 cases were all located in the lateral ventricles of septum pellucidum, which were close to the Monro's foramen.5 lesions located in the right lateral ventricle,5 lesions located in both lateral ventricles with 1 case reached the third ventricle,2 lesions located in the left lateral ventricle with 1 case reached the third ventricle. The mean diameter of the CNC lesions was 4.8 cm (ranged from 2.2 to 7.8 cm).11cases (92%) had vavious degrees of cystic change,8 cases (66.7%) had a spongy or soap bubble appearance and 1 case(8.3%) had completely cystic change.3 cases (25%) had a scalloping appearance on sagittal T1-weighted MRI.The solid part of the tumor was similar to the gray matter in signal intensity, with slightly high signal intensity on T2FLAIR.Among 9 cases with DWI,7 cases showed high signal intensity,1 case showed equal signal intensity, and 1 case showed slightly low signal intensity. On enhanced MRI,the solid part of tumors showed slight to medium (83%) or obvious (17%) enhancement. Conclusion CNC should be first considered when a young adult has a lesion located in the lateral ventricles of septum pellucidum, accompainied by varying degrees of cysts, showed slight to medium enhancement in the solid part of the tumor.

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of moxibustion with medicine cake on mRNA expression of matrix metalloproteinases-2,9 (MMP-2,MMP-9)in artherosclerosis (AS) plaques of rabbits, and to explore the effect of moxibustion with medicine cake to the stability of artherosclerosis plaques of rabbits.MethodsAS rabbit models were established by feeding high-fat diet. 75 New Zealand big-eared rabbits were divided into 5 groups, blank group (blank control group), model group (AS model group), direct moxibustion group (AS model + moxa cone direct moxibustion), moxibustion on medicine cake group (AS model + moxibustion on medicine cake), western medicine group (AS model + atorvastatin), 15 rabbits in each group. Then the mRNA expression of MMP-2, MMP-9 was detected in the atherosclerotic plaques of rabbits with in situ hybridization.ResultsThe expressions of MMP-2, MMP-9 in the atherosclerotic plaques of rabbits were all be controlled in direct moxibustion group, moxibustion on medicine cake group, western medicine group (P<0.01 or P<0.05). The expressions of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in the moxibustion on medicine cake group and western medicine group were obviously lower than those of the direct moxibustion group.ConclusionThe expression of MMP-2, MMP-9 in the atherosclerotic plaques of rabbits can all be controlled in direct moxibustion group, moxibustion on medicine cake group, and western medicine group; as well as the plaques can all be made stable. The efficacy in the moxibustion on medicine cake group and western medicine group is superior to that of the direct moxibustion group.

Objective To study the hypoglycemic effect of Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides on type 2 diabetic mice and its effects on intestinal flora and pathological structure of small intestine. Methods Fifty male mice were used, except 10 were fed normally, the others were fed with high-fat and high-sugar diet for 6 weeks, and then injected with streptozotocin intraperitoneally to make type 2 diabetes mice model. After successful modeling, they were randomly divided into model group and Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides (500, 250, 125 mg/kg) group and the model group mice were given normal saline. The changes of bodyweight and blood glucose of mice in each group were recorded. After 4 weeks, feces were collected and sequenced by a 16S rRNA high-throughput sequencing, and the pathological changes of small intestine were observed by HE staining. Results In diabetic mice, the weight decreased. After given Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides, the weight of mice increased by 14.24%,11.97% and 8.78%, and the blood glucose decreased by 26.6%, 22.3% and 13.3%, respectively after high, medium and low doses of Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides were administered. In addition, the pathological disorder and swelling of intestinal histopathology were improved. There were significant differences in intestinal microorganisms between the model group and the Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides. Verrucomicrobiae in the model group increased significantly, while the microorganism abundance of Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes in the healthy group and Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides group was higher. Conclusion Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides has a significant hypoglycemic effect on diabetic mice and a certain protective effect on their intestines, the mechanism may be achieved by increasing the richness of beneficial bacteria and improving the immune function of mice, it’s in a certain dose-effect relationship, and its immune function needs further study.
