Objective To investigate the MRI characteristics of the tumor of optic pathway and damage degree of visual function. Methods Analysis of 119 cases surgically and pathologically proved tumor suffering from optic pathway was carried out retrospectively. The patients included:36 ones with tumors in anterior segment of optic pathway,70 ones in middle segment of optic pathway,and 13 ones in posterior segment of optic pathway. The MRI examination series were transverse T 1WI SE,transverse and coronal T 2WI TSE,coronal T 2WI SPIR,and transverse,sagittal,coronal T 1WI SE after Gd DTPA enhancement. Results The tumors of optic pathway included:the primary tumors of the optic pathway and the tumors of any other part of the body which invaded the optic pathway. There was a special MRI feature on the each tumor suffering from optic pathway,but the pituitary adenoma which affects visual function was the most common tumor. Conclusion MRI is an effective method in the diagnosis of optic pathway tumor.

Objective: To explore the heat injury level of vocal cord by different power of the Diomed 25 semi conductor laser so as to provide scientific evidence for clinical laser therapy of larynx diseases. Methods: Canine was used. The power of laser was set on 5, 10 and 20 W respectively, and the time of laser exposure was fixed on 2 s.When canine vocal cord was hit by laser in vivo , the depth and width of the tissue heat injury were measured. Results: When laser hit with 5, 10 and 20 W for 2 s exposure time, the corresponding depth of the tissue heat injury were 0.2 0.4,0.4 0.6,0.8 1.0 mm respectively, the corresponding width of the tissue heat injury were 1.0 1.7,1.7 2.0,2.0 2.6 mm respectively. ObjectiveTo investigate the popularity of the sedated gastrointestinal endoscopy in mainland China.MethodsThe survey on the popularity of the sedated gastrointestinal endoscopy was conducted with questionnaires sent by e-mails or telephones to the GI endoscopy units of three levels of hospitals.ResultsFrom May,2010 to November,2010,169 units from 28 provinces (90.3％ ) were enrolled,including 46 hospitals of grade Ⅲ,91 of grade Ⅱ and 32 of grade Ⅰ.Sedated gastrointestinal endoscopy were performed in 110 (65.1％,110/169) hospitals,i.e.93.5％ (43/46) grade Ⅲ hospitals,68.1％(62/91) grade Ⅱ hospitals and 15.6％ (5/32) grade Ⅰ hospitals.Significant difference was observed between the grade Ⅲ and the grade Ⅱ hospitals (P ＜ 0.05 ),so was between the grade Ⅱ and the grade Ⅰ hospitals ( P ＜ 0.05 ).Propofol was frequently used in sedation in 98 hospitals ( 89.1％ ).The only 9.1％( 10/110)hospitals,which had full-time anesthetists or anesthetic nurses,were all grade Ⅲ hospitals.ConclusionThere has been great progress in the popularity of sedated gastrointestinal endoscopy in mainland China during the past decade.However,it is less frequently pefformed in grade Ⅰ and Ⅱ hospitals.Shortage of full-time anesthetists is still a problem.

Objective: Through treatment based on differentiation of symptoms and signs and classification of defi nited patients of maternofetal blood group incompatibility, detecting anti-A or Anti-B antibody and erythrocyte immune complex chaplet rate(RICR) and erythrocyte receptor chaplet rate(RC3bR) , etc, to observe the therapeutic effect and mechanism of prescriptions mainly with Yinchenhao Decoction. Methods: Patients definited maternofetal blood group incompatibility were divided into control group and observation group according to random principle in 1:3 ratio. Then, observation group was divided into moist heat group(SRG), moist heat and defi ciency of spleen qi group (SR+PQXG) and moist heat and defi ciency of kidney qi group(SR+SQXG) according to syndrome differentiation. Corresponding prescriptions were used, every 30 doses 1 course. Before and after treatment, the anti-A or anti-B antibody and RICR, RC3bR were detected in peripheral blood. Results: In Yinchenhao Decoction group with 21 cases, the anti-A or anti anti-B antibody decreased, including 5 case (1:64) and 4 case (1:32). In group of syndrome differentiation with 63 cases, the anti-A or anti anti-B antibody decreased, including 33 case(1:64) and 20 case (1:32). Before and after treatment, RICR of control group and observation group were(19.43?5.29), (19.57?6.50)and (20.59? 7.96), (23.77?5.12), respectively. RC3bR were(11.62?4.16), (12.42?6.60)and(11.93?4.10), (13.96?6.40)respectively. There was signifi cant difference of before and after treatment in obserbation group(P0.05). Conclusion: In cutting down anti-A and anti-B antibody, and increasing RICR and RC3bR fi eld, the observation groups were better than control group.

Objective To explore the clinical features and possible carcinogenesis mechanism of the ulcerative colitis (UC)-associated colorectal cancer. Methods From 1984 to 2008, 6 clinical cases of UC-associated colorectal cancer were collected at Peking Union Medical College Hospital. The characters of morbidity, clinical features, pathology type, treatment and prognosis were analyzed.Immunohistochemistry(IHC) was performed to study the protein expression of adenomatous polyposis coli protein(APC), β-catenin, P53 and Wnt-1 in the specimens. Results The canceration of UC was 1.1 %, higher in female cases (5/6), the average duration was 14.3 years. All cases presented typical UC manifestation, most involved total colon (5/6) and none of them complicated with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). There were 4 rectal cancers and 2 descending colon caners the UC cases collected. The major pathology type was adenocarcinoma with poor prognosis. The positive protein expression ratio of APC, β-catenin, P53 and Wnt-1 were 6/6, 6/6, 5/6 and 6/6 respectively.Conclusion The rectal cancer should be monitored and prevented in UC patients with total colon involved and long disease duration. Multi-pathway may possibly be involved in the carcinogenesis.

Objective Using MR defecography to assess the morphological and functional anorectal anomalies related to female outlet obstruction constipation, and evaluate the joint disease of anterior and mid pelvic. Methods One hundred and seven female patients, aged 20 to 84 years ( average, 55 years), were diagnosed as outlet obstruction constipation based on clinical symptoms and signs. They all received MR defecography in our institution. The high compliance homemade balloon was inserted into rectum to simulate stool Then relevant measurements were obtained during rest, squeezing and straining, respectively. Results In all the 107 cases, 70 ( 65.4% ) presented rectocele on dynamic MRI; 28 ( 26. 2% ) presented anismus;60 (56. 1% ) presented cystocele; 59 presented vaginal or cervical prolapse(55. 1% ); and, 54 (50. 5% )presented descending perineum. In 85 females (79.4%) multiple disorders were detected, involving more than one pelvic compartment. Conclusion MR defecography allowed to accurately evaluate the morphological and functional anorectal anomalies related to female outlet obstruction constipation, and the joint disease of anterior and mid pelvic.

A molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) using benzoic acid as template molecule, 4-vinyl pyridine (4-VP) as functional monomer, ethylene dimethacrylate (EDMA) as cross-linker, was prepared by bulk polymerization. The needle-type gas concentrator was developed using the MIP as adsorption medium. The device was coupled with gas chromatography (GC) for the analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The effect of polymerization conditions on adsorption property, such as polymerization time, ratio of the reagents, pre-polymerization time, type of solvents, type of template molecules, has been evaluated. The results of gas chromatographic analysis demonstrated that the optimum conditions for getting the best adsorption performance of the synthesized were polymerization time 6 h at 60 ℃, the ratio of the reagents (template molecule : functional monomer : cross-linker) 1∶ 4∶ 20, pre-polymerization time of 3 h, acetonitrile as solvent, benzoic acid as template.
