Objective To establish the quality standard for Huamoyan Tablet. Methods Radix Salviae MiltioiThizae and Radix Cyathulaewere were identified by TLC. The content of protocatechuic aldehyde was determined by HPLC. Results The spots on TLC plates were clear without the interference of negative control. Protocatechuic aldehyde showed a good linear relationship in the range of 0. 021～0. 105 μg, r=0. 999 9. The average recovery was 98. 13 % ,and RSD=2. 41%. Conclusion The method is simple, sensitive and accurate, and can be used to control the qual-ity of Huamoyan Tablet.

AIM:To establish a GC/MS method for determining the fingerprint of Jingu Tongxiao Pills.METHODS:GC/MS condition was comprised of column:DB-1(0.25 mm?30 m,0.25 ?m);injector temperature of 250 ?C;interface temperature of 250 ?C;column temperature of 70?C(1min)4?C/min→130?C(15min)1?C/min→150?C10?C/min→250?C(7min);carrier gas:He;column pressure:60 kPa;ionization souse:EI;detector volts:1.00 kV;mass range:41～350 aum.RESULTS:17 peaks existed on the GC/MS fingerprint of Jingu Tongxiao Pills.CONCLUSION:The method can provide more information for the quality control of Jingu Tongxiao Pills.

Objective To investigate the clinical application of ultrasound biomicroscopy in the treatment of congenital corneal opacities.Methods Medical records of 20 eyes (15 patients) with congenital corneal opacity treated at our hospital from July 2004 to November 2011 were retrospectively reviewed.Best corrected visual acuity testing,intraocular pressure testing,slit-lamp anterior segment examination,fundus examination,slit-lamp microscopic photography,B scan examination,and ultrasound biomicroscopy were performed for analysis of complications of congenital corneal opacity and selection of surgical approaches.Results The ultrasound biomicroscopic examination showed that 5 eyes had no Descemet's membrane and corneal endothelium,20 eyes had anterior synechia,5 eyes had aniridia,3 eyes had loss of lens cortex,13 eyes had cataract,14 eyes had closed angle,and 3 eyes had pupillary membrane.14 of 20 eyes received surgical treatment,including penetrating keratoplasty combined with cataract extraction and trabeculectomy (5 eyes),penetrating keratoplasty combined with pupil angioplasty (3 eyes),penetrating keratoplasty combined with cataract extraction (3 eyes),penetrating keratoplasty combined with trabeculectomy (2 eyes),and lamellar keratoplasty (1 eye).Conclusions Ultrasound biomicroscopy is important to guide the diagnosis and treatment of congenital corneal opacity.

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of modified corneal ulcer debridement combining with anti-fungal agents in the treatment of keratomycosis(fungal corneal ulcer).Design Prospective case series.Participants Criteria for inclusion:1)fungal corneal ulcer was diagnosed under direct 10% KOH wet film microscopic examination;2)corneal ulcer located away from the center with superficial infiltration,or located in the center but in small size;3)depth of corneal infiltration was uncertain.From January,2007 to December,2009,141 cases of fungal corneal ulcer patients in Shandong Eye Institute affiliated to Qingdao Eye Hospital were recruited into this study.Methods All patients received modified corneal ulcer debridement including stripping off ulcer lesion as well as infiltrated tissue,and repairing ulcer fringe.For postoperative treatment,0.25% amphotercin B or 5% natamycin and 0.5% fluconazol eye drops were topically administrated with high frequency to the diseased eye.In the meantime,itraconalzole was orally taken as systematic treatment.Clinical efficacy of the above therapy was evaluated at last.Main Outcome Measurs Corneal ulcer infiltration,corneal epithelium reparation and recovery of vision acuity were closely observed following surgery.Results 10% KOH wet film examination showed that hypha was found in all of the 141 cases.The average time for postoperative follow-up was 29 days(from 14 to 60 days).All 141 cases of fungal corneal ulcer were completely healed,of which 127 cases were healed by taking corneal ulcer debridement surgery and anti-fungal medication,and the other 14 cases had to take penetrating keratoplasty(10 cases) or lameller keratoplasty(4 cases) due to uncontrolled infection.No recurrence was found during follow-up.The average time for healing in the 127 cases was 8.5 days,and among these cases,29 cases had a preoperative visual acuity below 0.05,80 cases between 0.05 and 0.3,and 32 cases between 0.3 and 1.0.Postoperative evaluation showed that 6 cases had a visual acuity below 0.05,42 cases between 0.05 and 0.3,93 cases(65.96%) between 0.3 and 1.0,and among 93 cases,81 cases(57.45%) had a visual acuity between 0.5 and 1.0.Conclusions The modified corneal ulcer debridement combining with anti-fungal agents has proved to be an effective treatment for fungal corneal ulcer.It greatly improves patient's visual acuity and shortens the disease duration.For cases of superficial or uncertain infiltration,corneal ulcer debridement enables better ulcer observation and provides guidance for further treatment.

AIM:To study the human brain hemodynamics responses induced by acupuncturing foot shaoyang gallbladder meridian point GB37 and visual stimulation,and to analyze the effect of acupuncture to activate the cerebral functional area in visual stimulus. METHODS:Twenty five normal subjects were divided into two groups:15 subjects for electro -acupuncture GB37 in visual stimulus group and 10 subjects for electro-acupuncture GB37 groups. The blood oxygen level dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging (BOLD-fMRI) was carried out under the condition of two dif-ferent stimulation patterns (including a vision stimulation task and point GB37 acupuncture under the vision stimulation condition). A scintillating chessboard grid was applied as the vision stimulation task and the frequency was 8 Hz. The activation of cerebral functional areas of tested people under the conditions of the vision stimulation task and acupuncture were analyzed,respectively. RESULTS:Out of 15 subjects of electro -acupuncture GB37 in visual stimulus groups,twelve health volunteers were enrolled. When the vision stimulation task was carried out,the alarge area of brainstem and posterior lobe of cerebellum was seen to be activated. The areas of limbic lobe,hippocampus,middle temporal gyrus and inferior temporal gyrus were also activated. Under the condition of acupuncture only,the areas of posterior central gyrus,inferior parietal lobule,parietal lobe precuneus and the middle frontal gyrus were activated. When doublesided points of gallbladder meridian of foot-shao-yang were electroacupunctured under the visual stimulus status,the areas of superior frontal gyrus,inferior frontal gyrus,parietal precuneus and occipital gyrus lingualis were activated. CONCLUSION:The functional MRI shows the activation of cerebral functional area after acupuncture. Visual stimulus causes significant changes of brain conduction path connection. Under the visual stimulus status,the acupuncture to the points of gallbladder meridian of foot -shao -yang,GB37 has an extent of influence to conduction path conformity of the vision system and with the treat-ment of ophthalmocace. Furthermore,the external stimulation has prominent influence to the acupuncture therapy possibly.

Method s Fructus Psoraleae, Radix Puerariae, Radix paeoniae Alba and Radix Glycyrrhiza e Preparatae in Wanbile Wan were identified by TLC .Isopsoralen was determined b y TLC scanning. The chromatographic conditions were: high performance silica gel G plate as lamellated plate, n- hexane - ethyl acetate (8 ∶ 2)being the exp ander, serrated scanning with single- wavelength reflection, beam stricture of 0.4? 0.4 mm, linear parameter SX=3 and scanning wavelength at 300 nm. Results The TLC spots were highly specific, clear and concentrated without interferen ce of the presence of negative controls. Isopsoralen showed a good linearity wit hin the range of 0.064～ 1.536 ? g, r=0.9980, average recovery rate was 100.7 % , and RSD was 2.0% .Conclusion This method can be used for the quality co ntrol of Wanbile Wan.

ObjectiveTo compare the prognosis of patiens with acute(within 72 hours) subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) within or without the clinical standardized pathway(CSP).Methods123 acute SAH cases were collected before CSP established meanwhile another 146 cases after CSP established from 2005 to 2009 in neurological intensive care unit of our hospital. Information such as age, gender, Hunt-Hess and CT-Fisher grade, timing and result of digital subtraction arteriography, treating time of aneurysm, and Modified Rankin Scale(MRS) at different time were recorded. Rehaemorrhagia, complications, mortality, prognosis and average stay were compared between two groups.ResultsThere was a significant difference between two groups in rehaemorrhagia, vasospasm，hydrocephaly, mortality, prognosis and average stay.ConclusionCSP is helpful to improve the prognosis of aneurysm subarachnoid hemorrhage.

OBJECTIVE:To prepare aspirin-β-cyclodextrin-PLGA microspheres,and control its quality. METHODS:Aspirin-β-cy-clodextrin inclusion complexes were firstly prepared,and then aspirin-β-cyclodextrin-PLGA microspheres were prepared by emul-sion-solvent evaporation method. The morphology and particle size of microspheres were detected,and entrapment efficiency and accu-mulative release rate were calculated. With entrapment efficiency as index,orthogonal test was adopted to optimize stirring speed,PVA concentration,PVA volume and feed ratio. RESULTS:The optimal formulation was as follows as stirring speed of 4 000 r/min,PVA concentration of 3%(g/100 ml),PVA volume of 30 ml,feed ratio of 1∶10. Prepared microspheres were round and smooth in appear-ance. Entrapment efficiency of the microspheres was (41.79 ± 1.09)%. The diameter were regular and ranged 0.5-127.5 μm. As drug-loaded microspheres degraded,the release of aspirin was slow and its accumulative release rate was 83%within 600 h. CONCLU-SIONS:Aspirin-β-cyclodextrin-PLGA microspheres are prepared successfully with regular morphology and good sustained-release.
