Objective The purpose of this study was to investigate the value of chest CT in the evaluation ofchildren with suspected foreign body aspiration. Methods Chest CT was performed in 45consecutive children with suspected foreign body aspiration. The patients were examined with 16-slice Multidetector CT (MDCT) using 100 ～ 150 kV,30 ～ 50 mA, 1 mm section thickness. 1.2 pitch ratio, and 0.6 ～1.0 mm reconstruction interval. multiplanar reformatted (MPR) imaging were carried out after MDCT examinations. Results Chest CT revealed all foreign bodies in 42 of the 45 patients. Three patients with suspected foreign body aspiration did not show evidence of foreign body on CT,and they were treated with antibiotics for one week. These patients avoided unnecessary operations and recovered completely. The other 42 patients had evidence of foreign bodies in their bronchi. We designed the surgerical plan and selected appropriate foreign body forceps based on the CT scans. All of the foreign bodies were removed successfully, and no severe complications were observed. The location, shape, and volume of the foreign bodies found at surgery were consistent with the CT images. Conclusion The diagnosis of foreign body aspiration of the airwayin children can be accomplished by using chest CT. It is often useful in delineating the exact shape, location, volume and form of a bronchial foreign body and can help the surgeon plan for operative bronchoscopy and safe removal of the foreign body.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of nerve growth factors in the treatment of sudden deafness.Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 124 cases of hospitalized patients who suffered from unilateral sudden deafness from November 2013 to February 2015.The patients were divided into two groups: 59 in the treatment group and 65 in the control group.Each group was further divided into four subgroups according to different audiometric curves: the low-frequency declining type, the high-frequency declining type, the flat type, the completely deafness type.The control group: the patients were treated with the conventional therapy according to different audiometric curves.The treatment group: intramuscular mouse nerve growth factor treatment was added on the basis of conventional therapy mentioned above.The both treatments lasted 10 days.The total efficiency of two groups was compared ,and the efficiency of the subgroups was also compared.Results The total efficiency of the treatment group was 64.40% and 44.62% for the control group.The total efficiency of the treatment group was significantly higher than the control group.The analysis revealed as having statistically significant differences (x2=4.877,P=0.032<0.05).The total efficiency of the sub-groups by different audiometric curves was further analyzed.All the total efficiency of the sub-groups in treatment group were higher than the sub-groups in the control group, but the results were notconsidered as significantly different(P>0.05).Conclusion The mouse nerve growth factor has a positive effect on the treatment of sudden deafness, and has shown the acceptable clinical efficacy without side-effect.Thus the mouse nerve growth factor is a safe and effective drug for treating sudden deafness.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)is the predominant type of oral cancer,while some patients may develop oral multiple primary cancers(MPCs)with unclear etiology.This study aimed to investigate the clinicopathological characteristics and genomic alterations of oral MPCs.Clinicopathological data from patients with oral single primary carcinoma(SPC,n=202)and oral MPCs(n=34)were collected and compared.Copy number alteration(CNA)analysis was conducted to identify chromosomal-instability differences among oral MPCs,recurrent OSCC cases,and OSCC patients with lymph node metastasis.Whole-exome sequencing was employed to identify potential unique gene mutations in oral MPCs patients.Additionally,CNA and phylogenetic tree analyses were used to gain preliminary insights into the molecular characteristics of different primary tumors within individual patients.Our findings revealed that,in contrast to oral SPC,females predominated the oral MPCs(70.59%),while smoking and alcohol use were not frequent in MPCs.Moreover,long-term survival outcomes were poorer in oral MPCs.From a CNA perspective,no significant differences were observed between oral MPCs patients and those with recurrence and lymph node metastasis.In addition to commonly mutated genes such as CASP8,TP53 and MUC16,in oral MPCs we also detected relatively rare mutations,such as HS3ST6 and RFPL4A.Furthermore,this study also demonstrated that most MPCs patients exhibited similarities in certain genomic regions within individuals,and distinct differences of the similarity degree were observed between synchronous and metachronous oral MPCs.

As an important complementary form of decoction pieces of traditional Chinese medicine（TCM）， TCM dispensing granules has the advantages of being free of decoction， easy to take， easy to carry and easy to be dispensed， which greatly improves the capacity of emergency services of TCM and is more in line with the needs of modern society. With the end of the pilot project of TCM dispensing granules， the market has been fully liberalized， the competition has been intensified， and it is in the transition period of switching between the new standard and the old one， and there are some problems such as the shortage of varieties， the change of specifications and the difference of quality， and the production enterprises are facing new opportunities and challenges. Based on this， the authors intend to systematically sort out the policies and regulations， enterprise layout and standard formulation since the pilot of TCM dispensing granules. In view of the problems in the post-pilot stage and from the perspective of survival and development of enterprises， it is suggested that enterprises should establish a quality control system for the whole industry chain of TCM dispensing granules to reduce process costs and increase enterprise competitiveness， further increase the investment in scientific research， overcome the key technical problems of difficult varieties， actively and orderly promote the research of national standards， in order to ensure the integrity of clinical formula varieties， and establish and improve the efficacy evaluation mechanism of TCM dispensing granules， build a consistency evaluation system between TCM dispensing granules and decoction pieces. Government departments should strengthen the guidance， fully mobilize the enthusiasm of scientific research institutions， enterprises and hospitals， and explore the establishment of "government-industry-study-research-application" mode to promote the development of TCM dispensing granule industry.
