Objective To study the MRI manifestations of hemangioblastomas.Methods MRI data of 27 cases of hemangioblastomasproved by surgery and pathology were analyzed retrospectively.Results Hemangioblastomas were often located in hemispherium of cerebellum.All cases could be divided into three types : cyst-nodule type cyst-solid type and purely solid mass type.The large cyst and small nodule sign were characteristic manifestations of the cyst-nodule type,the signals of the fluid of the cyst were higher than that ofcerebrospinal fluid on MRI.The nodules or solid potions of the mass were showed as equal or slight long T_1 and slight long T_2 signalintensity,and were obviously enhanced.The blood vessel flow-void-sign around and inside the solid parts of the masses could be seen,and had a close relation with surrounding meninges.Conclusion MRI is a effective method in diagnosing hemangioblastomas,but the atypical cases should be differentiated from cystic astrocytoma,meningioma and metastesis.

Qian Hu is the roots of Peucedanum praeruptorum Dunn. The object of the present paper was to determine the effects of water extract (QH-I) and petroleum ether extract (QH-M) of Qian Hu on smooth muscle contractility of isolated rabbit pulmonary artery rings. QH-I and QH-M antagonized pulmonary artery rings conlraction elicited by NE as well as KCl.QH-I and QH-M caused relaxation of rabbit pulmonary artery rings precontracted with NE as well as KCl. The contraction dose-response curves of pulmonary artery rings with NE were shifted to the right and the maximal contraction response were inhibited 73.1 ?8.0% and 43 .6? 4.2% by 1 .6 ? 10-5% and 8.0 ? 10-5%, QH-M, pD'2 = 4.72 ?0.43. These results indicate that Qian Hu may relax pulmonary artery smooth muscle directly as a Ca2+ antagonist

Objective To study the characteristics of maxillary growth after lip and palate repair. Methods Using X-ray cephalometry through 12 landmarks and 12 measured values we had compared the difference between 60 patients with operated cleft lip and palate and 20 normal persons. Results After the operation all patients appeared limits of maxillary growth in different degree and different way. SNA and N-A-Pg [(-4.8?6.31)mm, P 0.05] were smaller than normal in patients of cleft lip. SNA(74.5?4.01)?, P 0.05;(75.1?1.07)?, P 0.01], and N-ANS [(47.3?2.41)mm, P 0.01;(49.8? 1.91) mm, P 0.01] were also smaller than normal in cleft palate and cleft lip and palate. Conclusions The limits of maxillary growth are affected by congenital and operative factors. Lip repair will influence the length of maxilla, and palate repair will influence height and width of maxilla.

Objective To observe the effects of fasudil hydrochloride injections on the levels of endothdin(ET)-1,nitric oxide(NO)in plasma and cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH),and analyze,its mechanisms in preventing cerebral vasospasm(CVS).Method Sixty SAH cases were randomly divided into fasudil group(30 cases)and control group(30 cases).On 2nd and 10th day after in hospital,the speed of cerebral blood flow was measured by transeranial Doppier(TCD),and the levels of ET-1,NO in plasma and CSF were measured by radio-immunity.Results The incidence of CVS in fasudil group were significantly less than those in control group[6.67%(2/30)vs 36.67%(11/30),P<0.05].On the 10th day,the levels of ET-1 in plasma and CSF in fasudil group were signitlcandy lower than those in control group[(118.23±14.56)ng/L vs(132.26±15.18)ng/L,(138.23±16.58)ng/L vs (156.24±17.54)ng/L ](P<0.05),the levels of NO were significantly higher than those in control group [(88.25±15.54)μmol/L vs(70.26±14.86)μmol/L,(104.27±16.52)μmol/L vs(92.43 ±12.51)±mol/L](P<0.05).But there were no significant difference on the 2nd day(P>0.05).Conclusion Fasudil can reduce CVS in patients with SAH by lowering the levels of ET-1 and increasing the levels of NO in plasma and CSF.

Objective To explore the feasibility and advantages of early open-heart radical operation on infants and children with Tetralogy of Fallot(TOF) in different ages and to analyze its perioperative outcomes.Methods The clinical data of 390 infants and children with TOF were analyzed, who underwent extracorporeal circulation open-heart surgery from January 2007 to January 2014 at the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery,the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University.The operative age ranged from 3 months to 14 years(mean 3 years).There were 172 infants(＜ 1 year old)and 218 children(≥ 1 year old).Some accompanied abnormalities included atrial septal defect (33 cases),patent ductus arteriosus (17 cases),coronary artery anomalies (8 cases), and multiple ventricular septal defect (5 cases).Results Ten patients died, and the overall mortality during hospital stay was 2.56％.The mortality of the infants group and the children group was 2.32％ (4/172 cases) and 2.75 ％ (6/218 cases), respectively,and there was no significant difference (x2 =0.000, P =1.000).Extracorporeal circulation time was (89.16 ± 74.38) min and (83.14 ± 66.72)min, respectively, aortic clamping time was (59.75 ± 35.20) min and (54.70 ± 38.54)min respectively, operation time were (185.34 ± 168.64)min and (163.35 ± 150.15) min respectively, duration of postoperative ventilation were (57.17 ± 67.46) h and (47.50 ± 58.39) h, respectively, the hospitalization time in the Intensive Care Unit was (5.08 ± 7.93) d and (3.71 ± 5.40) d, respectively, and the postoperative stay averaged (13.82 ± 17.78) d and (9.52 ± 8.74) d respectively in the infants group and the children group;there was no significant differences between 2 groups (t =1.937,1.890, 1.991,1.887,1.951,1.931;P =0.259, 0.713, 0.194, 0.739,0.241,0.308).Conclusions The curative effect of early cardiac surgical treatment on infants with TOF is considerably good with low morbidity and mortality.Early cardiac surgical treatment can avoid delayed development and growth in children, hypoxemic spells,sudden death and some other kind of adverse events.

Objective:To investigate the effects of early postoperative enteral nutrition on recovery of patients with gastric cancer.Methods:Sixty-five cases of patients with gastric cancer were randomized into early enteral nutrition (EEN) group and enteral nutrition (EN) group.Serum total protein (TB),albumin(ALB),Prealbumin,white blood cell count (WBC),C-reactive protein (CRP),immunoglobulin,peripheral T-lymphocyte subsets,gastrointestinal recovery time,hospital stay and cost were recorded.The nutritional and cellular immunity parameters of the EEN group on 7th day after operation were higher than those of the EN group.Inflammatory response of the EEN group on 3th day after operation was lower than EN group.EEN group showed better immunological response and clinical recovery than the EN group (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion:Early enteral nutrition in postoperative gastric cancer patients can improve early postoperative nutritional status and immune function,alleviate inflammatory response,promote the recovery of intestinal function and shorten hospital stay.

Objective To investigate the CT findings and its pathological basis of gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs ). Methods The CT findings of 23 patients with GEP-NETs confirmed by pathology were analyzed retrospectively and compared with the pathological results.Results The GEP-NETs were found on CT in 20 patients,including focal gastrointestinal wall thickening in 4,mass formation in 6,and both in 10.The tumor diameter ranged from 0.9 cm to 5.2 cm with a mean value of (2.6±0.6)cm. Plain CT showed homogenous isodensity in 15 lesions,little necrosis with low density in 4,and hemorrhage with high density in 1. The dynamic contrast-enhanced CT showed the tumors with obvious enhancement in 16 cases and mild enhancement in 4 in arterial phase.In addition,serosa invasion was found in 7,enlargement of mesentery lymph node in 7,and liver metastases in 2.The pathol-ogy showed the location of submucosa and invasion of the tumors.Most small tumors had intact gastrointestinal mucosa,and some large ones had surface or infiltrated ulcer.Conclusion Some specific CT findings of GEP-NETs depend on its pathological character-istics.CT plays an important role in assessment of invasion extent and metastasis of the tumor.

Objective To explore the moisture absorption and related components of aqueous extract of Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma. Methods The hygroscopicity of aqueous extract of Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma and its water and alcohol elution parts separated by macroporous resin was measured, and the contained low molecular sugars (monosaccharides, oligosaccharide), polysaccharide, protein, amino acid, tannins and salvianolic acid B, etc. were analyzed. Results D101 macroporous resin was used for separation and purification of aqueous extract of Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma. The hygroscopicity of water elution parts was enhanced;carbohydrate, protein and other hydrophilic substances content increased; the content of salvianolic acid B was reduced to 1.76 mg/g. While the hygroscopicity and hydrophilic substances of alcohol elution parts were greatly reduced; the content of salvianolic acid B increased to 146.57 mg/g. Conclusion The hygroscopicity of aqueous extract of Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizomais closely related to the contained strong hydrophilic components, such as low molecular sugars, etc. Using D101 macroporous resin to purify aqueous extract of Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma can not only effectively gather the contain phenolic acids active ingredients, but also sharply decrease the extract yield and extract moisture absorption.

Objective To study the ches t X-ray and CT appearance of pulmonary nontuberculosis mycobacteria (NTMB) Methods The chest X-ray findings of 22 cases with cultures positive for pulmonary nontuberculosis mycobacteria were reviewed, 10 cases had CT scans simultaneously All abnormalities and predominant lobar involvement were recorded The findings of chest X-ray and CT were compared Results The chest X-ray showed that air space consolidation ( n =19) and cavities ( n =18) were most frequently seen, nodules ( n =12) and linear disease ( n =14) were observed too The abnormalities involved bilateral multiple lobes, the right lung was more frequently involved than left, and upper lobe was involved more than lower ones Multiple manifestations were often co-existing ( n =19) On CT scans, nodule was the most frequent finding ( n =10), air space consolidation ( n =8) and cavity ( n =8) were other common findings In addition, bronchiectasis ( n =5), “tree in bud” sign ( n =3), and mediastinal lymphadenopathy ( n =2) were also seen on CT but not on chest X-ray Conclusion Air space consolidation, cavity, nodule, fibrosis, bronchiectasis, and “tree in bud” are major abnormalities of chest image The image abnormalities of pulmonary NTMB are indistinguishable from those of secondary pulmonary TB Multiple co-existing manifestations may be the characteristic findings of pulmonary NTMB infection
