China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2010;35(22):2963-2966
OBJECTIVETo reveal the mutative discipline of the contents of the phenols in samples from different provenances.
METHODThe contents of magnolol and honokiol in samples from the filial generation of Guanxi, Hubei and Zhejiang provinces were determined respectively by HPLC.
RESULTThere were significant variations between provenances, the contents of honokiol, magnolol and phenols were the highest in samples from Hubei province, those were the lowest in samples from Zhejiang province. There were not only significant differences in polyphenol content between provenances, but also in families in the same provenance and individuals in families.
CONCLUSIONMagnolia polyphenol content and appearance traits were significantly related. The type with the small convex tip (original form) were superior to other types of M. officinalis judging from the characteristics of tree classification. The high quality of M. officinalis should actually be attributed to their local varieties and the breeding strategy of M. officinalis should be paid full attention to the good provenances, good families and good individuals.

Objective:To understand the hearing loss status of workers exposed to noise, and provide a scientific basis for formulating effective prevention and control strategies. Methods:From Januaryl to October 31 , 2018, through the occupational hazard declaration and record management system of the workplace and the health checkup system , the basic information and physical examination information of 7806 noise-exposed workers in 136 companies in Zhuzhou City in 2018 and the related information about the industry, type, and scale of the enterprises were collected. The χ 2 test was used to analyze the occupational health monitoring data of the noise-exposed workers. Results:The average age of 7806 workers in Zhuzhou was(36. 1±9. 3) years, and the working age was 7. 0(3. 0, 11. 0) years. And 1 270 workers with noise induced hearing loss(NIHL) were detected, including 51 suspected occupational noise deafness. The detection rates of NIHL and the suspected occupational noise deafness were 16. 27% , 0. 65% , respectively. The detection rate of noise was 0.01% in 1deaf person. It showed that the male had higher morbidity than the female ( P<0. 05) and the workers with longer exposure time had a higher morbidity ( P<0. 05) . There was a statistically significant difference in the detection rate of NIHL and suspected occupational noise deafness between workers of different types of work ( P<0. 05 ) . It was noted that the morbidity varied in different enterprises, industry types and terms of scales ( P<0. 05 ) . Non- metal ore mining and dressing industry workers had higher NIHL detection rate (33. 33%, 14/42) and small companies workers had higher NIHL detection rate(19. 32%, 296/1532) . There was a statistically significant difference in the detection rate of suspected occupational noise deafness between workers of different economic types of enterprises. There was a high detection rate of suspected occupational noise deafness among workers in private enterprises(1. 29%, 36/2782) . Conclusion:The noise operation in Zhuzhou is seriously endangered.Occupational health protection measures for non-metallic mining and dressing industries, small and private enterprises should be strengthened.Occupational health law enforcement efforts should be strengthened to protect workers' health.

Objective:To explore and construct the nursing quality standards of spine surgery, provide a scientific basis for improving the nursing quality of spine surgery. Methods:Taking the "structure-process-outcome" three-dimensional quality model as the theoretical framework, through evidenced-based literature search and semi-structured interview, the items pool was formed, and finally the nursing quality standards were determined by two rounds of Delphi method of expert inquiry from May to July 2023.Results:The positive coefficients of the two rounds of inquiries to experts were 0.90 and 1.00, respectively. The authority coefficients were 0.946 and 0.951, respectively. The Kendall coefficients of the first, second and third level standards in the first round were 0.161, 0.095 and 0.108, respectively, and the Kendall coefficients of the first, second and third level standards in the second round were 0.162, 0.088 and 0.100, respectively, the differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). The final nursing quality standards were finally constructed, including 3 first-level standards (structural quality, process quality and outcome quality), 20 second-level standards and 60 third-level standards. Conclusions:The nursing quality standards of spine surgery based on the three-dimensional quality model of "structure-process-outcome" have high reliability and science, which can provide target incentives for clinical nurses, provide a basis for the quality of specialized spine nursing, and promote the development of nursing specialization and the construction of nursing discipline.

Existing antidepressant treatments are generally suboptimal for patients with bipolar disorder(BD).Several studies have explored the efficacy of light therapy(LT)in patients with bipolar depression, along with investigating parameters, devices, and safety aspects of LT.This paper provides a review of these aspects.Numerous meta-analyses and randomized controlled trials have indicated that LT could significantly improve depressive symptoms in BD patients, with both low and high intensity white light having this effect, while the antidepressant effect of blue light remains unclear.LT takes effect rapidly, preferably in the morning, with each session lasting between 30 to 60 minutes, but there is no consensus on the most beneficial LT course for BD patients. The most commonly used device for LT is a lightbox. However further exploration is need regarding the safety of LT glasses. When LT devices that meet safety standards is selected, the overall safety of LT will be high and risk of manic or hypomanic switch will be low for BD patients. In conclusion,LT holds promise for patients with bipolar depression, and further research on LT for BD patients should be conducted to explore LT strategies and develop LT prescriptions.

Synthetic Biology is one of the most promising fields of modern Biology and a frontier interdisciplinary subject in the 21st century. With the rapid development of synthetic biology, the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition has emerged. The iGEM competition, based on the subject foundation of Synthetic Biology, intends to solve the biological problems in our daily life by applying modern biological technology. In recent years, with the continuous increase of participating teams, the iGEM competition has received extensive attention and achieved great progress. On the basis of the development of Synthetic Biology, we analyzed the 2018-2020 award-winning projects of the iGEM competition and illustrated the role and significance of the iGEM competition in cultivating college students' innovative thinking and ability with the participation experience of the iGEM team of Southwest Jiaotong University as an example.
