Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(03):-
The protection of ginseno-side (GNS ) isolated from leaves and stems on cultured cell from virus were observed. The results showed that GNS, especially the Rb1 monomer could suppress replication of virus such as HSV -Ⅰ , HSV-Ⅱ ,ADV- Ⅲ and VSV, and protect the cultured cells from virus infec-tion. A cream containing GNS was used in the treatment of herpes lebialis infected by HSV- I and 27 of 31 (87. 1%) cases were cured.

Object To determine the structures of three saponins isolated from leaves of Aralia elata (Miq ) Seem Methods HPLC and electrospray ionization and tandem mass spectrometry were used for purification and structure identification Results Three saponins were identified as congmunoside Ⅴ, congmunoside Ⅶ, and congmunoside Ⅹ Conclusion These saponins are obtained from the leaves of A elate for the first time

Objective To investigate treatment of meditation training for elderly patients with cogni-tive disorder recovering from operation for valvular heart disease( VHD) . Method 67 elderly patients who were up to the inclusion criteria were divided into experiment group( n=34)and control group( n=33),by dropping coins according to the admission time. Both of the two groups accepted regular health education and mental nursing.Besides, the experiment group accepted meditation training 5 times a week. Montreal Cogni-tive Assessment (MoCA) was used to evaluate cognitive function before and after the treatment. Results ( 1) Ridit analysis showed the intervention effect of the experimental group was better than that of the control group( R=2.12, t=-2.48, u=0.02),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0,05).The total effec-tive rate of experiment group is 90.32%,while the rate of control group is 62.89%. (2)The score of MoCA for the experiment group(25.79±1.23)was higher than that of the control group(23.85±1.82)after 6 weeks intervention, and the difference was statistically significant( t=5.14,P<0.01).(3) The score of MoCA of the experiment group before the intervention (23.91±2.22)was lower than after 6 weeks intervention(25.79±1. 23),and the difference was statistically significant( t=-4.30,P<0.01).Conclusion Meditation training can effectively improve cognitive function of elderly patients recovering from operation for VHD.

Objective To assess the value of CMV viral load test in the diagnosis and prognostic judgment of infantile cytomegalovirus infection with whole blood and urine specimens. Methods 50 infants with active CMV infection were selected, which pp65 antigen was positive in serological detection and either CMV-IgM positive or the titer of CMV-IgG ≥40. The viral load in whole blood and urine specimens was detected before and after a course of preemptive ganciclovir treatment and the pp65 antigen was determined after treatment. Results 98% patients were manifested as cytomegalovirus viral load quantitative measurement in whole blood positive before the treatment, while 14% after. The positive ratio of pp65 assay after therapy was 6%. And there was no significant difference between the results of the two kinds of detection methods measurement in urine before and after treatment was 98% and 90%, respectively. The results of urinary viral load quantitative detection did not coincide with clinical characteristics of CMV infection (P<0.05,Sp=0.11,PVP=0.55, (Youden's index)=0.09). Conclusions Good coincidence could be found between CMV-DNA quantitative measurement in whole blood and pp65 antigenemia assay. And the former could be used as a diagnostic index of CMV positive infection. While single urinary viral load quantitative detection had no significance for the distinction between active and latent CMV infection and dynamic monitoring of CMV treatment.

Objective To investigate the effect of 5-FU on the expression of SHP2 gene in colorectal cancer cells RKO . Methods The human colorectal cancer cell line RKO of logarithmic growth phase was cultured 48 h with 5-FU .The expression of SHP2 was observed by immunofluorescence and Western blotting ;siSHP2 which specifically inhibits the expression of SHP2 was transfected into RKO cells and cultured 48 h with 5-FU .The cell absorbance (A) values were measured with CCK8 and apoptosis was determined by flow cytometry .The sensitivity of RKO to 5-FU and the effect of 5-FU on apoptosis of RKO cells were observed .Results The expression of nuclear protein of SHP2 was improved remarkably after colorectal cancer cell RKO was cultured 48 h with 5-FU .The sensitivity of RKO cells to 5-FU and the cell apoptosis rate induced by 5-FU were decreased after siSHP2 transfection .Conclusion 5-FU exerts anti-cancer activity possibly due to its promoting the apoptosis of RKO cells by influencing the expression of SHP2 .

Osteosarcoma is the most common primary solid bone malignancy. The main factor leading to recurrence and metastasis of osteosarcoma is resistance to chemotherapy drugs. Long non-coding RNAs can affect drug resistance in osteosarcoma by regulating epithelial-mesenchymal transition, cell autophagy, apoptosis, drug efflux, and cell cycle, suggesting that long non-coding RNAs may become new targets for drug resistance in osteosarcoma treatment.
