Sample of Pingle Jiegu Dan was extracted with methanol, n-butyl ethanol and absorbed with coarse-hole resin, and its total saponin content of notoginseng was determined with spectrophotometry. The result was reproducible. This method effectively excludes the interferential elements in a complex preparation and can be employed as a method for quantitative analysis. Meanwhile, it also provides a reference for the quantitative analysis of preparation containing notoginseng.

Objective:To evaluate the value of CT in the diagnosis of skeletal metastases from hepatoma.Methods:27 patients proved by clinical or pathological materials were analysed retrospectively. Results:All the lesion were osteolytic on CT scans. The most frequently involved areas were spine(26%),ribs(22%),pelvis(19%)and femur(11%).Conclusion:CT scan is superior to X-ray plain flims in showing the lesions. Most foci can be diagnosed accurately.

The TLC UV scanning assay for tanshinone IIA and cryptotanshinone in Yangxuezhitong pills was built up.Their wave lengths were 260 nm and 255 nm respectively. The regressive equation and coefficient of corelation were Y=40.48+5526.90X,r=0.9995 and Y=-12.91+5640.48X,r=0.9999 respectively. The recovery ratio of cryptotanshinone was(?)=102.62%.This me- thod is simple and convenient, and elicits accurate and reproduceable results.

Objective:To evaluate the CT value in diagnosing the fracture of paranasal sinuses. Methods:The CT and clinical findings of 300 cases with fracture of paranasal sinuses were analysed retrospectively. Results:Of 300 cases,49 cases were fracture of single sinus wall,96 cases were fractures of multiple wall in single sinus and 155 cases were fracture of multiple wall in sinuses."Teardrop sign",accumulatioun of blood at sinus cavity and changes of extraoculer muscles were found. Conclusion:Sinonasal fracture can be diagnosed by CT comprehensively and accurately, that is very important in choosing the treatment methods for sinonasal fracture.
