1.Blood Lead and Blood Cadmium Levels of Chinese Non-smoking Women During 1981~1998 in China
Journal of Environment and Health 1989;0(06):-
Objective To realize the changes of blood lead(PbB)levels and blood cadmium(CdB)levels and the status of exposure to lead and cadmium in provincial capitals and counties. Methods A survey was carried out in the period of 1981~1998.The target population was non_smoking middle school women teacher and women workers of service trade. The target was selected by a proportionate two stage cluster random sampling method from each city.Venous blood samples were collected and questionnaries about the smoking habits, dietary habits, alcohol consumption, residence conditions and kinds of fuel used at home were completed. The quality assurance procedure of the pilot biological monitoring program taken by WHO/UNEP were strictly adopted in this national biological monitoring program. Results It indicated that PbB levels of nonsmoker women did not change notably in 1981~1998,but it increased markedly since 1988.The geometric mean of PbB increased from 60 ?g/L in 1988 to 78 ?g/L in the period of 1998.The geometric mean of CdB fluctuated between(0.81?0.08)?g/L. Conclusion As compared with foreign countries,PbB in China was low in the early days of the eighties, but in the nineties was moderately high. The change of CdB was not significantly in the period of 1981~1998.As compared with foreign countries,CdB in China is moderately high both in the early days of the eighties and now.
2.THE DISTRIBUTION OF LYSINE,METHIONINE,VALINE AND THREONINE IN WHOLE RICE GRAIN IN RELATION TO THE DEGREE OF MILLING IN MODERATION
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(01):-
Whole rice grain was dissected by hand into fractions of pericarp, ale-urone, scutellum, embryo and endosperm. For the convenience of having enough amount of samples for amino acids assay some of which were recom-bined and finally three parts, pericarp +aleurone layer, scutellum + embryo and endosperm, were obtained. Protein, lysine, methionine, threonine and valine contents were determined for each part. The data obtained indicated that although total weight of the first two parts accounted for only 7.27-8.43% of the whole grain, they contributed 14.5-15.8% protein, 29.0-30.5% lysine, 11.8% melhionine, 16.8% valine and 19.4% threonine, contained in the whole grain. During husking process it indicated that the lesser amounts of pericarp, aleurone, scutellum and embryo were retained and the larger percentage of protein and lysine was lost. This fact was identified either by a specially designed miller in the laboratory or a commonly used sand wheel miller in the factory. The suitable degree of milling for rice was discussed and it was proposed that 92% extration for rice rather rational.
3.LYSINE AND METHIONINE CONTENTS IN PROTEINS OF RICE VARIETIES GROWN IN DIFFERENT PROVINCES
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(02):-
Lysine and methionine contents were determined in proteins of 21 rice samples including 17 varieties grown in 11 provinces. Ranges of lysine and methionine contents on crude protein basis were 3.21-3.76% and 1.63-2.06% respectively. The lysine content was found to be negatively correlated with the protein content of rice, but no correlation was found in case of methionine when they were expressed on the basis of crude protein. The absolute amounts of lysine and methionine were positively correlated with protein contained in the samples. The importance of breeding rice variety with protein of high lysine content was discussed in relation to promoting the protein nutritive status in South China.
4.SULFUR AMINO ACIDS CONTENT IN PROTEINS OF CEREALS, BEANS, FISHES AS WELL AS MEATS
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(03):-
A convenient microbiological method with high accuracy for cystine assay was introduced. Common foods including cereals, beans, sweet potato, fishes and other aquatic products as well as meats were selected for cystine and methionine analysis. Based on the data obtained, a brief discussion was made on the way for resolution of sulfur amino acids problem inherently in our traditional soy-cereal based diet.

Chlamydia psittaci is a causative agent of psittacosis, which can infect a wide range of hosts including birds and humans. However, information regarding C.psittaci infection in pigeons is scarce. In the present study,a total of 399 fecal samples from pigeons were collected from Jilin Province, northeastern China, between March and May 2015,and examined by nested PCR amplification of outer membrane protein A (ompA) gene. The overall Chlamydiosis prevalence was 5.01% (21/399),with 3.19% in Changchun City and 9.40% in Jilin City.Furthermore, breed was the major risk factor associated with Chlamydia infection in pigeon, boiler pigeons had a prevalence of 7.49%,whereas no C.psittaci was detected in racing pigeons.Sequence analysis of the ompA gene revealed that all the identified isolates represented C.psittaci genotype B.Our results firstly indicated the presence of zoonotic C.psittaci in boiler pigeons in Jilin Province, northeastern China, and effective measures should be implemented to reduce the risk of C.psittaci transmission from pigeons to humans.

Zinc oxide quantum dots (ZnO QDs) were synthesized by gel-sol method and employed as the transdermal aloesin (Alo) carriers. ZnO QDs were surface-functionalized with amino using aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES). Alo was covalently bonded on the surface of ZnO QDs via N,N'-carbonyldiimidazole to obtain Alo NPs, which were characterized by transmission electron microscope (TEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and thermal gravimetric analyzer (TGA). TEM images showed that ZnO QDs were analogously sphere and monodisperse with a reasonably narrow size distribution, of which was around 4 nm. The size of Alo NPs increased to around 8 nm due to the surface modification. The intense bands at around 3 400 cm and 1 200 cm in the FTIR spectrum of Alo NPs from the vibration of -OH indicated the linkage of Alo on the surface of ZnO QDs. The results of TGA analysis showed that the mass ratio of ZnO QDs and Alo were 39.27% and 35.14%, respectively. The penetration of Alo NPs was much higher than raw Alo according to the passive penetration experiments with Franz-type diffusion cells instrument using full-thickness cavy skin, which manifested the improvement of the penetration for Alo delivered by ZnO QDs. The pH-controlled drug release behavior was investigated. At pH 7.4, only a small amount of Alo (1.45% ± 0.21%) had been released after 2 h. In contrast, as incubation at pH 5.0 of which pH was similar to endosomal environment, Alo was released very fast (87.63% ± 0.46% in 2 h) from Alo NPs, confirming that Alo NPs could response to the pH and realize the intracellular drug release. The inhibitory effect of Alo NPs on tyrosinase was in a dose dependent manner. When the concentration of Alo NPs was 12.5 μg/mL, the inhibition rate was up to 40.32% ± 1.57%. All the results show that the Alo NPs hold a great potential in transdermal tyrosinase inhibition.
