BACKGROUND:Previous studies have showed thatTougu XiaotongCapsule (TGXTC) exertsbetter effects on osteoarthritis, byregulatingRho/Rock signaling pathway, inhibitingsignal transduction of chondrocyte mitochondrial apoptosis pathway,varyingthe rate and pattern of subchondral bone remodeling and improving the arrangement of subchondral bone colagen fibers and calcium-phosphate crystalization. OBJECTIVE:To observe the effects of the serum containing TGXTC and itsdisassembled recipeson chondrocytedegenerationof ratsviaWnt/β-cateninsignal pathway, and to explore the maintherapeutic method forosteoarthritis in theTGXTC. METHODS:FortySprague-Dawley rats were randomlyassigned to receivethe treatment ofTGXTC,Bushen Rougan(BSRG),Huoxue Qufeng(HXQF) and normal saline, respectively, according tothe dose conversion methods ofanimaltoanimal and animaltohuman. Thenvarious drug-containing serums wereprepared for thefolowingcelular experiment.After culture and passage, chondrocytesfromSprague-Dawley ratsat passage 3 were divided into five groups: blank control, model, TGXTC, BSRG, HXQF groups. Cels in the latter four groups wereculturedin appropriate drug-containing serums(normal salineserumfor the model group) for 72 hours, folowing intervention with interleukin-1β for 24 hours.Cels in the blank control group were cultured innormal saline serum.Afterwards, cels in al the five groups were colected for detecting expression ofWnt 4, β-cateninandmatrix metaloproteinase 13at mRNA and proteinlevels using real-time PCR and western blot assay, respectively. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with theblank control group, the expressionof Wnt 4,β-catenin, matrix metaloproteinase 13 wassignificantly increasedin the model group. Compared with the model group, the expression of Wnt 4, β-catenin, matrix metaloproteinase 13 in the TGXTC, BSRG and HXQF groups were decreasedsignificantly, sequenced as TGXTC group

Objective To investigate palmar hyperhidrosis (PH) and the effects on mental health in a military command.Methods 26 392 soldiers were enrolled in this study by stratified-cluster random sampling.Each was required to complete a self-administered questionnaire regarding PH.The soldiers were assessed with symptom checklist-90 (SCL-90) and the factor scores were compared with army norm and civilian norm.Results A total of 25680 subjects fulfilled the questionnaires,and the response rate was 97.3％.The prevalence of PH in the survey sample was 2.66％ and the mild,moderate,and severe PH were 1.49％,0.83％,and 0.34％,respectively.The total mean score of SCL-90 in soldiers with PH (1.72±0.54) was higher than those none PH soldiers (1.65±0.58),civilian norm (1.49±0.41) and military norm (1.63±0.30).Multiple regression analysis showed that age,level of education and severity of PH were important factors for mental health of soldiers with PH (P＜0.05).Conclusion PH is more common in the military,which affect the mental health.The health service departments should pay attention to the treatment and psychological intervention of PH.

Objective To investigate the association of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) gene promoter region - 1031T/C and its combination with interleukin-6 (IL-6 ) gene promoter region -634C/G single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) with the genetic susceptibility to endometriosis.Methods Total of 432 endometriosis patients and 499 non-endometriosis women who had received an operation due to tubal ligation,tubal recanalization,laparoscopic hydrotubation,ovarian simple cyst and teratoma were collected and separated into endometriosis group and control group,that all cases were confirmed by operation and pathology.A case-control study was performed in endometriosis and control group to evaluate the association of these SNP with the susceptibility to endometriosis by using a fluorescent quantitative PCR-based high resolution melting ( HRM ) method.Results ( 1 ) TNF-α - 1031T/C genotype:the T and C of TNF-α - 1031T/C allele frequencies in the endometriosis group and control group were 79.2％ (684/864),20.8％ (180/864) and 81.8％ (816/998),18.2％ (182/998),respectively.The TT,TC and CC of TNF-α - 1031T/C genotype frequencies in the two groups were 63.7％ (275/432),31.0％ ( 134/432 ),5.3％ (23/432) and 66.5％ (332/499),30.5％ (152/499),3.0％ ( 15/499),respectively.There were no statistical significances in the TNF-α - 1031T/C alleles and genotypes distributions between the two groups ( P =0.158,P =0.186 ).( 2 ) TNF-α - 1031T/C and IL-6 - 634C/G conjoint genotypes:to research on the TNF-α - 1031T/C and IL-6 -634C/G genotypes for conjoint analysis,the TT + CC,TC + CC,CC +CC,TT + CG,TC + CG,CC + CG,TT + GG,TC + GG and CC + GG combination genotype frequencies in the two groups were 39.4％ ( 170/432 ),19.4％ ( 84/432 ),4.6％ ( 20/432 ),20.6％ ( 89/432 ),8.8％ (38/432),0.9％ (4/432),3.5％ (15/432),2.3％ (10/432),0.5％ (2/432) and 36.7％ ( 183/499),17.4％(87/499),1.4％ (7/499),26.1％ (130/499),10.4％ (52/499),1.2％ (6/499),3.8％ (19/499),2.6％ ( 13/499),0.4％ (2/499),respectively.There were no statistical significances in the combination genotypes distributions between the two groups ( P =0.107 ).As compared with carriers of TT + CC combination genotype,the endometriosis risk of carriers of CC + CC combination genotype enhanced 3.076 times ( 95％ CI:1.268 - 7.457,P =0.009 ),and the endometriosis risk of carriers of other combination genotypes were no statistical significances (all P ＞ 0.05 ).ConclusionsThe study demonstrates that there are no significant association between the SNP of TNF-α - 1031T/C and genetic susceptibility to endometriosis.However the results indicate that there are significant association betweengenetic susceptibility to endometriosis and the combination polymorphisms of TNF-α -1031T/C and IL-6- 634C/G.

Objective:To analyze the clinical characteristics of patients undergoing extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR), and to explore the risk factors leading to poor prognosis.Methods:The clinical data of 95 patients with ECPR admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2020 to May 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the survival status at the time of discharge, the patients were divided into the survival group and death group. The difference of clinical data between the two groups was compared to explore the risk factors related to death and poor prognosis. Risk factors associated with death were identified by Binary Logistic regression analysis. Results:A total of 95 patients with ECPR were included in this study, 62 (65.3%) died and 33 (34.7%) survived at discharge. Patients in the death group had longer low blood flow time [40 (30, 52.5) min vs. 30 (24.5, 40) min ] and total cardiac arrest time[40 (30, 52.5) min vs. 30(24.5, 40) min], shorter total hospital stay [3 (2, 7.25) d vs. 19 (13.5, 31) d] and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) assisted time [26.5 (17, 50) h vs. 62 (44, 80.5) h], and more IHCA patients (56.5% vs. 33.3%) and less had spontaneous rhythm recovery before ECMO (37.1% vs. 84.8%). Initial lactate value [(14.008 ± 5.188) mmol/L vs.(11.23 ± 4.718) mmol/L], APACHEⅡ score [(30.10 ± 7.45) vs. (25.88 ± 7.68)] and SOFA score [12 (10.75, 16) vs. 10 (9.5, 13)] were higher ( P< 0.05). Conclusions:No spontaneous rhythm recovery before ECMO, high initial lactic acid and high SOFA score are independent risk factors for poor prognosis in ECPR patients.

Objective:To investigate a cluster epidemic of COVID-19 after a mass gathering activity in Ningbo of Zhejiang province and analyze the transmission chain and status of infection cases of different generations.Methods:The tracking of all the close contacts of the first COVID-19 case and epidemiological investigation were conducted on January 29, 2020 after a cluster epidemic of COVID-19 related with a Buddhism rally on January 19 (the 1.19 rally) in Ningbo occurred. The swabs of nose/throat of the cases and close contacts were collected and tested for nucleic acids by real-time fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR.Results:From January 26 to February 20, 2020, a total of 67 COVID-19 cases and 15 asymptomatic infection cases related with the 1.19 rally were reported in Ningbo. The initial case was the infection source who infected 29 second generation cases and 4 asymptomatic infection cases, in whom 23 second generation cases and 3 asymptomatic infection cases once took bus with the initial case, the attack rate was 33.82% (23/68) and the infection rate was 38.24% (26/68). The risks of suffering from COVID-19 and being infected were 28.91 times and 26.01 times higher in rally participants taking bus with initial case compared with those taking no bus with initial case. In this epidemic, 37 third+generation cases and 11 related asymptomatic infection cases occurred, the attack rate was 2.88% (37/1 283) and the infection rate was 4.76% (48/1 008). The main transmission routes included vehicle sharing and family transmission.Conclusion:It was a cluster epidemic of COVID-19 caused by a super spreader in a massive rally. The epidemic has been under effective control.
