AIM: To explore the efficacy of salbutamol combined with magnesium sulfate by nebulization in the treatment of paroxysmal asthma. METHODS: All of 75 asthma patients were divided into three groups of A, B, and C (n=25): A group treated with 3 ml of 7.5 % isoosmotic magnesium sulfate solution and 3 ml of physiology saline 5 minutes later; B group treated with 3 ml of 0.1 % salbutamol solution and 3 ml of Physiology saline 5 minutes later; C group treated with 3 ml of 0.1 % salbutamol solution and 3 ml of 7.5 % isoosmotic magnesium sulfate solution 5 min later. Forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1), peak expiratory flow (PEF) in the three groups were tested before and after the treatment 15 min respectively; systolic, diastolic, heart rates and respirations were tested between group A and group C as well. Objective:To observe the clinical effects of aligned needling therapy for lumbar intervertebral disc herniation (LIDH).
Methods:A total of 80 cases with LIDH in conformity with the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into a treatment group or a control group by their visit order, 40 cases in each group. The points from the Governor Vessel, L1-L5 Jiaji (EX-B 2) points, from the first lateral line of the Bladder Meridian, Huantiao (GB 30), Weizhong (BL 40) and Yanglingquan (GB 34) were selected for acupuncture in the treatment group. Shenshu (BL 23), Dachangshu (BL 25), Ashi (Extra) points and Weizhong (BL 40) were used for routine acupuncture in the control group. The clinical effects of the two groups after 2-course treatments and recurrence rates three months later were observed. The pain severity before and after treatments was assessed by visual analog scale (VAS). The improvement of the patient’s pathological situation was evaluated by the performance assessment of lumbar disease treatment from Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA).
Results:After the treatment for two courses, there was no dropped-out case in the two groups. The curative rates and total effective rates were respectively 32.5% and 92.5% in the treatment group versus respectively 12.5% and 82.5% in the control group. The differences in the curative rates and total effective rates between the two groups were statistically significant (bothP<0.01). After the treatment, VAS and JOA scores remarkably declined in the patients of the two groups, with statistical differences in comparison with those of the same group before treatment (bothP<0.05). In follow-up check of three months, the recurrence rate was 10.7% in the cured and remarkably effective cases in the treatment group and was 29.4% in the control group. The recurrence rates of the two groups were statistically different (P<0.05).
Conclusion:The aligned needling technique is remarkable in the clinical effects, obvious in the analgesic effects and low in the recurrence rate in the treatment of LIDH.

Synapse is the key part of information transmission between neurons,which has certain plasticity.Glutamate receptor plays an important role in the synaptic plasticity of the central nervous system,and acupuncture can regulate the glutamate receptor to normal under pathological conditions,and its research is also deepening.This paper summarizes the recent research literature on the effects of two types of glutamate receptors,ionic glutamate receptor and metabotropic glutamate receptor,on synaptic plasticity,as well as acupuncture regulating the expression of ionic glutamate receptor and metabotropic glutamate receptor,in order to provide a theoretical basis for acupuncture regulating synaptic plasticity based on glutamate receptor expression,and provide reference for subsequent research.

ObjectiveTo explore the efficacy of acupuncture intervention for children with monocular refractive-parallax amblyopia and the possible mechanisms of brain function based on resting-state functional magnetic resonance （rs-fMRI）. MethodsSeventy-six children with anisometropic amblyopia were randomly divided into routine treatment group （38 cases） and acupuncture treatment group （38 cases）. In the conventional group， the children were given three regular treatments of red flash， grating and visual stimulation for 5 mins each time； in the acupuncture group， on the basis of the conventional treatment， the children were given acupuncture for 20 mins each time on bilateral Jingming （BL 1）， Cuanzhu （BL 2）， Guangming （GB 37） and Fengchi （GB 20）； the children in both groups were treated once every other day and three times a week for 4 weeks. The corrected visual acuity was compared between groups before and after treatment. Fifteen children with left-sided refractive amblyopia were randomly selected from each of the above two groups and underwent brain rs-fMRI scans before and after treatment， and 10 healthy children with normal visual acuity of the matched gender and age were included in the normal group and underwent brain rs-fMRI scans. Based on the activation likelihood estimation （ALE） method， we constructed the what visual pathway network， and compared and analyzed the spherical regions of interest （ROIs） of the children with normal children， and both groups of children with differences in functional connectivity （FC values） within the what pathway in the brain before and after treatment. ResultsTwo cases dropout in the acupuncture group， and finally 36 cases in the acupuncture group and 38 cases in the conventional group were included in the analysis. Compared with before treatment， the best corrected visual acuity of amblyopia in both groups was significantly improved after treatment （P＜0.05）， and the improvement of vision in the acupuncture group was significantly better than that in the conventional group （P＜0.05）. The results of rs-fMRI showed that the FC values of the primary optic cortex and the right fusiform gyrus， the left lingual gyrus and the right fusiform gyrus， and the right infraoccipital gyrus and the right middle temporal gyrus were significantly elevated in the brain of the refractive amblyopia children with the whitepathic amblyopia， compared with that of the normal children （P＜0.05）. The FC values of the left lingual gyrus， the right suboccipital gyrus with the right fusiform gyrus， the left lingual gyrus with the right middle temporal gyrus， the right and left lateral middle occipital gyrus， and the right and left lateral middle occipital gyrus with the right suboccipital gyrus were significantly （P＜0.05） lower in the conventional group compared with those in the conventional group before treatment. Compared with that before acupuncture treatment， the FC values of the right lingual gyrus and the right fusiform gyrus， the primary visual cortex and the right middle temporal gyrus increased significantly after acupuncture treatment （P＜0.05）， and the FC values of the left inferior occipital gyrus and the right middle temporal gyrus， the FC values of the left lingual gyrus and the right middle occipital gyrus decreased significantly （P＜0.05）. Compared between groups after treatment， the FC between the left suboccipital gyrus and the right fusiform gyrus in the acupuncture group was significantly higher than that in the conventional group （P＜0.05）， and the FC between the left middle occipital gyrus and the right and left suboccipital gyrus was significantly lower than that in the conventional group （P＜0.05）. ConclusionAcupuncture can significantly improve the corrected vision of anisometropic amblyopic children， and its effect mechanism may focus on regulating the occipito-temporal interlobular functional connectivity within the what pathway， thus improving the children's visual function of shape and color vision and visual learning and memory ability.

To explore the clinical significance of the altered expression of polycomb group (PcG)-associated protein RYBP in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) specimens.
 Methods: The expression levels of RYBP in tumor tissues and adjacent normal tissues in 77 HCC cases were detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC), and the relationships between RYBP expression levels and HCC clinicopathological characteristics, five-year survival rates or prognosis of HCC patients were analyzed.
 Results: RYBP expression level was significantly decreased in HCC tumor tissues than that in the adjacent normal tissues (P<0.05). The expression levels of RYBP in HCC specimens were highly correlated with HBsAg, ALT, GGT, Type III procollagen, tumor size, distant metastasis, and tumor differentiation (P<0.05). The RFS and OS for patients with RYBP-low expression were markedly lower than those with RYPB-high expression (P<0.05). Both age and RYBP expression level were protective factors for RFS, while GGT, lymph node metastasis, TNM stage, tumor differentiation and tumor size were risk factors for RFS (P<0.05). As to OS, RYBP expression level was a protective factor, while tumor number, ALT, GGT, AFP, pCEA, lymph node metastasis, TNM stage, tumor differentiation and tumor size were risk factors (P<0.05). The age, GGT, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage were independent prognostic factors for RFS (P<0.05), and both lymph node metastasis and TNM stage were independent risk factors for OS (P<0.05). Comparing to serum alpha fetoprotein (AFP) level, RYBP expression level in tumor tissues was applied to predict the prognosis of HCC patients more accurately.
 Conclusion: PcG associated protein RYBP displays a reduced expression in HCC tissues, which is related to poor prognosis of HCC patients. It might be a promising therapeutic target for HCC treatment.
