Objective To investigate the prevalence and influencing factor of metabolic syndrome(MS)in rural elderly population. Methods With randomized cluster sampling, investigations including questionnaires, physical examination, fasting plasma glucose, blood lipids were performed in rural population aged over 60 years in Changzhou city in 2004-2005. Results A total of 4976 elderly people were enrolled in the study. The prevalence of MS was 24.1%,and 10.3%in men,34.3%in women by international diabetes federation(IDF)2005 definition.86.2%individuals had one or more of the metabolic disorders.Logistic regression analysis showed that sex, smoking, sweetmeat, family history of essential hypertension(EH)and tea drinking were influencing factors of MS. Conclusions The prevalence of MS is high in rural elderly population, especially in females.

For the purpose of improving the efficiency of aphasia rehabilitation training, artificial intelligence-scheduling function is added in the aphasia rehabilitation software, and the software's performance is improved. With the characteristics of aphasia patient's voice as well as with the need of artificial intelligence-scheduling functions under consideration, the present authors have designed a set of endpoint detection algorithm. It determines the reference endpoints, then extracts every word and ensures the reasonable segmentation points between consonants and vowels, using the reference endpoints. The results of experiments show that the algorithm is able to attain the objects of detection at a higher accuracy rate. Therefore, it is applicable to the detection of endpoint on aphasia-patient's voice.

The different concentration of specific ion species and the electrodiffusion of the ions down their electrochemical gradient generate transmembrane potential. The regulation of membrane potential for the function of numerous membrane proteins such as ion channels, transporters, pumps and enzymes plays primary role in the conversion of extracellular electric stimulation into a sequence of intracellular biochemical signals. Some ion channels regulated by membrane potential are well known, and the membrane non-ion channels protein is also modulated physiologically by membrane potential.

By combing the physiological characteristics of wind and fire, the article makes it clear that wind and fire are evils, and external wind is easy to attack and even worse when it encounters fire; burnt and moving fire evils set off internal winds; and the incitement of each other can lead to the occurrence of palpitations. From the perspective of the theory of "wind and fire inciting each other", the clinical diagnosis and treatment of palpitation is discussed, which clarifies that there is an internal and external distinction between wind and fire, and there is an internal and external distinction between the real and the imaginary, which should be carefully distinguished in the diagnosis and treatment of palpitation. In the treatment, wind medicine can be skillfully applied to drive away the wind evil to calm the internal and external, and it is also necessary to clearly identify the source of the fire evil and properly choose the corresponding treatment for the fire evil in order to extinguish the burnt fire. As the positive qi exists and the evil will not dry up, we should not forget to take care of the heart in the treatment. An example of a medical case is attached in order to provide new ideas for the clinical treatment of palpitation.
