Objective To statistically analyze the bacterial flora change and drug resistance situation in the patients with bacteri‐al infection to provide reference for clinical rational drug use and the management of nosocomial infection .Methods The clinical samples were conventionally isolated and cultured .The bacteria identification and drug sensitivity test were performed by using the bioMerieux company VITEK2 automatic microorganism analyzer .The confirmation test of drug susceptibility adopted the disk dif‐fusion method recommended by the American Clinical and Laboratory Standardization Committee (CLSI) .Results The sample sources in the hospital infection during 2011-2013 were main sputum ,secretions and midstream urine ;the main infectious bacteria showed the increasing trend ,the top 5 of bacteria were :Escherichia coli (ECO) ,Klebsiella pneumoniae (KPN) ,Acinetobacter bau‐manii (ABA) ,Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PAE) ,Staphylococcus aureus (SAU);the top three of common multi‐drug resistant bacte‐ria were ABA ,PAE and ECO ,their constituent ratio during these three years had a small amplitude increase ;the antibiotics for Gram negative bacilli (G -) resistance rate of more than 70% during these 3 years were :ampicillin ,cefuroxime sodium and cefu‐roxime axetil;the antibiotics for Gram positive cocci (G+ ) resistance rate of more than 70% during these 3 years were penicillin and erythromycin ..Except for 4 cases of Enterococcus faecalis ,no other vancomycin‐resistant strains were found .Conclusion The sam‐ple source of bacterial infection is dominated by sputum ,the gram negative bacteria are the main force of hospital infection ,showing a increasing trend every year ,multi- drug resistant strains are also continuously rising ,penicillin is unsuitable to the clinical treat‐ment of bacterial infection ;imipenem has very high sensitivity to ECO and KPN .The hospital should attach great importance to the infection management ,strengthen the application and management of antibiotics ,decrease the outbreak and prevalence of bacterial infection and reduce the increase of drug resistant strains .

Objective To explore the effects of prenatal infection on the development of lungs by dynamic observation of morphology and numbers of inflammatory cells in lungs of rat pups exposed to antenatal inflammation.Methods Pregnant Wistar rats were randomly divided into experimental group and control group.Pregnant rats of both groups were intraperitoneal injected with either lipopolysaccharide (LPS) 2.5mg/kg or the same volume of normal saline on embryonic day 19 and 20, respectively, and were allowed to term deliver.Onday1, 3, 7, 14, 21and28 (D1, D3, D7, D14, D21 andD28), eight pups of each group were killed by 10％ chloral hydrate (1ml/kg) and lungs were collected.The numbers of myeloperoxidase (MPO) and CD68 as markers of both neutrophils and macrophages were counted.Morphometric assessments were performed by measuring the mean numbers of alveolar, the mean ratio of alveolar surface area to per tissue and the mean thickness of alveolar septum.Results With the increasing of postnatal days, the mean numbers of alveolar and the mean ratio of alveolar surface area to per tissue in both groups increased.The mean thickness of alveolar septum got thinner and the numbers of inflammatory cells decreased.On D1, D3, D7 and D14, the mean alveolar numbers of the experimental group (88, 89, 102 and 127 /mm2) were significantly less than those of the control group (105, 109, 123, 156/mm2), P =0.024, 0.009, 0.013, 0.004, respectively.On D1, D3 and D7, the mean ratios of alveolar surface area to per tissue were significantly larger (0.552,0.603 and0.533) than those of control group (0.478, 0.485 and 0.404), P=0.003, 0.001, 0.000, respectively.On D1 and D3, the alveolar septum thickness was significantly thinner (12.30 and 10.75 μm) thanthatin control group (17.13 and 16.13 μm), P=0.000, 0.000, respectively.On D1, D3, D7 and D14, the mean numbers of neutrophils of the experimental group (681, 582, 393 and 379/mm2) were significantly more than those of control group (164, 211, 145 and 179 /mm2), P =0.000, 0.000, 0.000,0.003, respectively.On D1, D3 and D7, the mean numbers of macrophages (613, 578 and 337 /mm2)were significantly more than those of control group (170, 182 and 127, /mm2) , P=0.000, 0.000, 0.000,respectively.Conclusion Prenatal infection results in larger and fewer alveolars and more inflammatory cells in lungs of rat pups.With the increasing of postnatal days, the alveolar morphology was similar to the controis.

Objective　To study the efficacy, safety and related characteristics of ethylcellulose microcapsules containing tubeimoside as a vascular embolization agent. Methods　The ethylcellulose microcapsules containing tubeimoside was prepared using tubeimoside from bolbostemma paniculatum of Chinese medicinal herb as the core, and ethylcellulose as the shell. Transcatheter renal arterial embolization was performed with the microcapsules in 30 New Zealand white rabbits. Results　The microcapsules were white, spherical, and smooth particles, with its size to range from 40-180 μm, and its drug content was 36%(W/W); It was divergened best in 40% meglucamine diatrizoate and suspended stably, easily injected through 3 F catheter without occlusion. All of the microcapsules ruptured in about 20 days when immersed in physiological saline at 37℃. The embolized kidneys were smaller than the normal kidneys in weight and volume after 30 days（tw=102.1, tv=38.0, P<0.001）. Serial slices of the kidneys showed that the microcapsules remained mainly at the interlobular artery and the arterial arch, which measured from 110 μm to 350 μm in diameter. The vessels maintained occlusive after 30 days without formation of collateral circulation. Conclusion　Ethylcellulose microcapsules containing tubeimoside were safe and effective with angioembolic function and slow-release. It was a potential peripheral artery embolization agent.

BACKGROUND:Co-transplantation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) and hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) can improve the survival rate following radiation damage. OBJECTIVE:To review the mechanisms of BMSCs in hematopoietic reconstitution and immunomodulation after radiation damage. METHODS: Relevant articles included in the Web of science from 2005 to 2016 were retrieved, and the keywords were mesenchymal stem cells; radiation; radiation injury; hematopoietic stem cells; hematopoietic reconstitution; immunomodulatory in English. Then we sorted and analyzed the articles which were closely related to the theme. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:BMSCs can repair broken DNA double bonds by autophagy and HR/NHEJ pathway; support and protect HSCs by intercellular interactions and paracrine action; and repair radiation-induced hematopoietic injury by inhibiting inflammation and immune responses to maintain HSC homeostasis. Therefore, BMSCs may function as an effective treatment for radiation-induced hematopoietic injury.

Objective To observe biological character iistcs of cultivated cornea limbal epithelial cells of rabbit.Methods Cultivated cornea limbal epithelial cells with tissue inoculation were observed by inverted microscope every two days; ultrastructure of cell was observated by electron microscope; Proliferative ability of cell was examined by flow cytometry; the cell growth curve was examined by monotetrazolium(MTT) colorimetry.Results Cultivated limbal cornea epithelial cells formed monolayer at six day,the cultivated conea limbal epithelial cells had high metabolism and proliferative ability, growth of cornea limbal epithelial cells reached climax after 4 days by passage culture. Conclusion Cultivated limbal epithelial cells during the first and second growth generation can keep cornea epitheliam property and high proliferative ability.

Objective To explore the therapeutic value of hemoperfusion combined with daytime high capacity hemofiltration in the treatment of severe acute pancreatitis.Methods The clinical data of 25 patients with severe acute pancreatitis treated by hemoperfusion combined with daytime high capacity hemofiltration(the observation group) were retrospectively analyzed,and compared with 30 severe acute pancreatitis patients without blood purification treatment(the control group).Results After the treatment,the biochemical indicator of the observation group was improved obviously compared with pre-treatment.Of the observation group,the hospital slaying time was shorter [(21.6±12.3) d vs(30.8±15.6) d],and the cure rate was higher(72％ vs 40％),and the death rate was lower (16％ vs 30％),compared with the control group(all P ＜ 0.05),but the treatment costs had no difference between the two groups.Conclusion Patients with severe acute pancreatitis on the basis of conventional treatment should conduct as early as possible hemoperfusion combined with daytime high capacity hemofiltration,and it could improve the success rate of the rescue and shorthen the length of hospital stay,and its curative effect was accurate.

OBJECTIVETo compare the clinical efficacy differences between Zheng's gold hook, fishing acupuncture and electroacupuncture (EA) for lumbar disc herniation (LDH).

METHODSSixty patients of LDH were randomly allocated to a gold hook fishing acupuncture group and an EA group, 30 cases in each one. Lumbar Jiaji (EX-1 B 2), Yaoyangguan (GV 3), Shenshu (BL 23), Dachangshu (BL 25), Guanyuanshu (BL 26) and ashi points were selected in the gold hook fishing acupuncture group; after the needles were inserted, the manipulation of gold hook fishing acupuncture was applied at tendon junction points and ashi points. The identical acupoints were selected in the EA group and patients were treated with EA. The treatment was both given once a day; ten days of treatment were taken as one session, and totally 3 sessions were given. The clinical effective rate, visual analogue scale (VAS), low back pain score and Oswestry disability index (ODI) were used for efficacy evaluation.

RESULTSThe effective rate was 93.3% (28/30) in the gold hook fishing acupuncture group, which was superior to 86.7% (26/30) in the EA group (P < 0.05). The VAS, low back pain score and ODI were both significantly improved after treatment (all P < 0.05), which were more significant in the gold hook fishing acupuncture group (all P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONZHENG's gold hook fishing acupuncture could effectively improve the symptoms and sings of LDH, reduce the disability index and improve the quality of life, which is superior to EA.

Objective To evaluate the effects of high glucose on autophagy and apoptosis of podocyte and explore the signaling pathway in high glucose-induce podocyte autophagy.Methods Differentiated mouse podocytes were exposed to high glucose(30 mmol/L) or rapamycin (autophagy enhancer,1 μg/L) or LY294002 (a selective PI3K inhibitor,50 mmol/L) for 24 h.The formations of autophagy were observed by electron microscopy and acridine orange staining.Apoptosis was evaluated by flow cytometry.The expression of autophagy protein LC3-Ⅱ/Ⅰ and Beclin-1 as well as the phosphorylation of AKT and mTOR were examined by Western blotting analysis.Results High glucose induced podocytes apoptosis,increased autophagy and the expression of autophagy-associated proteins (all P ＜ 0.05).Rapamycin further increased the expression of LC3-Ⅱ and Beclin-1 protein (all P ＜ 0.05),but LY294002 inhibited partialiy the protein expression of LC3-Ⅱ and Beclin-1 induced by high glucose (both P ＜ 0.05).Treatment with rapamycin increased the phosphorylation of AKT,but reduced that of mTOR in podocytes.Moreover,LY294002 inhibited phosphorylation of both AKT and mTOR (both P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions High glucose promotes podocyte autophagy and apoptosis.High glucose-induced autophagy is mediated partly through PI3K-AKT-mTOR signaling pathway.

Objective To systematically assess the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture and moxibustion for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Methods Articles were searched from databases, i.e., CNKI, VIP, WanFang Data, CBM, Embase, and PubMed. Articles about RCT on acupuncture and moxibustion for rheumatoid arthritis and traditional medicine therapy were under meta-analysis. Results Totally 24 articles involving 2006 patients were included. The results of meta-analysis indicated that the overall effective rate of treatment in the group receiving acupuncture and moxibustion was higher than that in the drug group, with statistical significance [OR=2.73, 95%CI (2.18, 3.41), Z=8.78, P<0.000 01]. Sub-group analysis showed that:acupuncture and moxibustion showed statistical significance in decreasing serum RF levels compared with drug therapy [MD=-2.92, 95%CI (-5.60, -0.25), P<0.05]. Acupuncture and moxibustion showed statistical significance in decreasing serum ESR levels compared with drug therapy [MD=-2.99, 95%CI (-4.78, -1.21), P<0.05]. Acupuncture and moxibustion showed statistical significance in decreasing serum CPR levels compared with drug therapy [MD=-1.44, 95%CI (-2.44, -0.44), P <0.05]. Conclusion The overall effective rates of acupuncture and moxibustion for rheumatoid arthritis and the decreasing levels of RF, ESR, CRP are superior to drug therapy, but it still needs larger samples, multi-center, and high quality RCT to verify.

BACKGROUND:Both in vitro and in vivo studies have confirmed that, bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) regulates the differentiation of osteoblasts and chondroblasts, induces heterotopic bone formation, promotes fracture healing, and controls the morphology of skeleton in mammals.
OBJECTIVE:To treat chronic bone defects using particle gun containing BMP2 gene eukaryotic expression plasmid via local injection.
METHODS:A total of 72 healthy New Zealand white rabbits were applied to establish chronic bone defect model in the rabbit radius. According to the length of bone defect, the rabbits were divided into three groups:1.5 cm group, 2.0 cm group, 2.5 cm group. Each group was further randomly assigned into two subgroups:treatment group (BMP-2 gene transfection) and control group (natural y healing). X-ray examinations were performed at 1, 3, 8 and 9 weeks after transfection, and soft tissue between the bone defects was harvested to detect BMP-2 using western blot analysis;and radius specimens were taken for gross observation at the same time points, to evaluate the healing.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) Gross specimen observation:bone cal us formation in treatment group was general y more than that in control group. (2) Lane-Sandhu X-ray score in treatment group was significantly higher than that in control group at 1, 3, 8, 9 weeks after transfection (P<0.05). (3) BMP-2 concentration in treatment group was significantly higher than that in control group at each time point (P<0.05). The local transfer of particle gun-mediated BMP-2 gene is an effective therapy of chronic bone defect.
