Objective To test the effect of EPO on anemia of preterm infant. Methods Thirty preterm infants less than 35 weeks of gestational age from three different hospitals were devided ramdomly into EPO group of 16 cases and control group of 14 cases. The infants in EPO group were received rh EPO 400 IU/(kg?d) subcutaneously twice a week for 4 weeks from 7 days old, together with oral supplementation of ferrous sulfate at a dossage of 3~5 mg/(kg?d) in both groups. Hemoglobin(Hb) and reticulocytes(Ret) were measured at 42 days of age. Results The hemoglobin was higherin the EPO group[(999?29)g/L vs (905?25)]g/L, P 0.05). Conclusion The is lower EPO level in prematures and efficiency of rh EPO in the treatment of anemia of preterm infants. There is no observed substantial adverse effects.

Expression of apelin mRNA in the isolated mouse adipocytes was confirmed by Northern blot. The level of apelin mRNA increased during stage of differentiation of 3T3-L1 cells. Insulin up-regulated the apelin expression in 3T3-L1 adipocytes, suggesting that apelin expression in adipocyte may correlate with obesity, insulin resistance and hypertension.

Objective To investigate the relationships among perceived stress,mindfulness level,and sleep problems,and to indicate the mediating role of mindfulness level in the relationship between perceived stress and sleep problems.Methods For 179 undergraduate students,the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ),Chinese Perceived Stress Scales (CPSS) and Athens Insomnia Scale (AIS) were used to measure.Results The scores of the scales were (120.43 ± 1 1.23) for FFMQ,(40.17 ± 6.86) for CPSS and (5.28 ± 4.04)for AIS.Pearson correlation analysis showed that perceived stress was negatively correlated to mindfulness level (r =-0.602,P =0.000) and positively correlated to sleep problems (r =0.459,P =0.000) and that there was significant negative correlation between mindfulness level and sleep problems (r =-0.427,P =0.000).Hierarchical linear modeling showed significant partial mediation of mindfulness level on the association between perceived stress and sleep problems.Conclusion Mindfulness level partly mediated the positive link between perceived stress and sleep problems.

Objective:To investigate the effectiveness of mindfulness training improving negative emotions, furthering to explore the mediating effect of the improvement of mindfulness levels for the training effects.Methods:Randomized control trail was used in this research.Ninety participants who suffered negative e-motions and resolved to alleviate stress by mindfulness training were recruited by lecture.They were randomized in-to mindfulness training group or waitlist control group,and 79 of them completed the intervention (38 in mindful-ness training group and 41 in waitlist control group).Participants in mindfulness training group received an 8-week mindfulness training,while participants in waitlist control group received no intervention.Participants were assessed with the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ,measuring mindfulness level)and Brief Profile of Mood State (POMS,measuring emotion)before and after intervention.Results:After 8-week intervention,participants in mindfulness training group got significantly higher total scores of FFMQ compared with baseline [(125.9 ±11.9) vs.(121.2 ±12.5),P<0.01].Participants in mindfulness training group also got significantly higher total scores of POMS,and the intensity-anxiety,depression-frustration,and fatigue scores of POMS compared with baseline (Ps<0.01).There were no significant differences between posttest and baseline on any scores in waitlist control group (Ps>0.05 ).The improvement of total scores of FFMQ mediated the reduction of total scores of POMS (95%CI=-6.24--0.73),and the intensity-anxiety (95%CI=-1.65 ~-0.12),depression-frustration (95%CI=-1.63--0.14),and fatigue scores (95%CI=-1.72--0.20)of POMS caused by mindfulness training.Conclusion:Mindfulness training could improve participants'negative emotions,and the enhanced mindfulness levels caused by mindfulness training will play a very important role for the improvement of negative emotions.

Objective By simulating a high-glucose condition of peritoneal dialysis (PD)fluid,to explore the effect of high glucose on the expression of leptin and its relationship with peritoneal angiogenesis.Methods Adipocytes differentiated from 3T3-L1 were divided into high glucose group (139 mmol/l glucose) and high mannitol group.Leptin levels in supernatant collected at 0 h,12 h,24 h and 48 h were measured by ELISA.Endothelial cells (ECs) were respectively cultured with normal glouse,high glucose,high mannitol condition,supernatants of adipocyte induced by normal glouse,high glucose and high mannitol,high glucose supernatants+leptin antibody,and high mannitol supernatants + leptin antibody.Tubular structure formation and migration of ECs were detected.Results Adipocytes exposed to high glucose for 48 h produced more leptin as compared with control group,high mannitol group,12 h-high glucose group and 24 h-high glucose group (all P ＜ 0.05).Compared with ECs in normal group,ECs in high glucose had less tubular structure formation and increased migration (all P ＜ 0.01).Compared with those of ECs in high glucose,the tubular structure formation and the migration of ECs in adipocyte supernatants induced by high glucose had increased (all P ＜ 0.01),and these effects were reduced by leptin antibody (all P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion There is an up-regulation of leptin in adipocytes exposed to high glucose,which may be an alternative way to prevent peritoneal angiogenesis.

Objective Explore the diagnostic effect of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) in pediatric infectious diseases. Methods The BNProSpec automatic protein analyzer was used to detect the serum hs-CRP levels of children including 246 cases of bacterial infection, 132 cases of virus infection and 72 cases of healthy children (control group) . Results The serum hs-CRP levels were 57.2±19.5 mg/L,4.6±3.2 mg/L and 1.7 ±0.4mg/L in children of the bacterial infection, virus infection and normal control group, respectively. Conclusion The serum levels of hs-CRP in children with bacterial infection were significantly higher than those in other two groups,and the difference was significant ( <0.05) . The results suggested that serum hs-CRP testing has great application value in the diagnosis of pediatric infectious diseases, treatment and prognosis.

Objective To evaluate the feasibility and clinical efficacy of intraperitoneal laparoscopic partial nephrectomy for T1a peripheral renal neoplasms. Methods Intraperitoneal laparoscopic partial nephrectomy was performed without renal artery occlusion for T1a peripheral peripheral renal neoplasms. The operative time, bleeding volume and complications were observed and the clinical experience was summarized. Results From October 2014 to January 2017 ,there were 10 patients:7 males and 3 females. All patients had T1a peripheral renal tumors. 10 patients underwent operation successfully ,of which 1 case developed temporarily blocked renal artery in the surgery due to hemorrhage. There was no referral during surgeries. The operative duration was 108 to 210 min,with a median of 135 min. The estimated blood loss was 100 to 750 mL,with a median of 320 mL. Followed up duration was 2 to 24 months (median 12 months),there were not postoperative renal secondary bleeding , leakage and other complications. No recurrence of tumor was found. Conclusion It is feasible and safe to exercise intraperitoneal laparoscopic partial nephrectomy without renal artery occlusion in the treatment of T 1a peripheral renal tumors,which can protect renal function to the greatest extent.

BACKGROUND: Increase of fibrinogen is an independent risk factor for cardio-cerebrovascular disease and peripheral angiopathy. Fibrinogen and its degradation product exist in carotid atheromatous plaque and it can stimulate proliferation and migration of smooth muscle cells so as to play a key role in early atherosclerosis.OBJECTIVE: To analyze the relationship between plasma fibrinogen and carotid atheromatous plaque.DESIGN: Descriptive observation.SETTING: Department of Neurology, Xinhua Hospital, Medical Collegeof Shanghai Jiaotong University.PARTICIPANTS: A total of 81 patients with ischemic stroke were selected from Neurological Department of Xinhua Hospital affiliated to Medical College of Shanghai Jiaotong University from September to December 2001.There were 53 males and 28 females aged 41-85 years with the mean age of (65±11) years.METHODS: On the basis of carotid ultrasonography, 81 patients with ischemic stroke were divided into present plaque group (n=45) and absent plaque group (n=36) to measure plasma fibrinogen, serum total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and other risk factors of atherosclerosis so as to observe the correlation between risk indexes and carotid atheromatous plaque.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Risk indexes of carotid atherosclerosis and carotid atheromatous plaque.RESULTS: All 81 patients were involved in the final analysis. ① Values of fibrinogen, TC and LDL-C in present plaque group were (4.38±1.33) g/L,(5.19±1.27) mmol/L and (3.15±0.37) mmol/L, respectively, which were higher than those in absent plaque group [(3.20±1.30) g/L, (4.56±1.30) mmol/L,(2.49±0.92) mmol/L, P ＜ 0.05]. ② Ratios of carotid atheromatous plaque were 11% (5 cases), 16% (7 cases) and 73% (33 cases) in fibrinogen groups at Iow, moderate and high dosages, respectively. There was significant difference (P =0.002). ③ Multiple factor analyses of carotid atherosclerosis showed that the risk factors which promoted the formation of carotid atheromatous plaque were diabetes mellitus, low density lipoprotein (LDL), fibrinogen and age growing.CONCLUSION: Fibrinogen plays an active role in development and progression of carotid atheromatous plaque.
