1.Effects of Ginseng Polysaccharide Injection in Chemotherapy for Patients with Rectal Cancer
China Pharmacy 2005;0(18):-
OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effects of Ginseng polysaccharide injection in chemotherapy for patients with rectal cancer.METHODS:A total of eighty-five patients with rectal cancer were divided into treatment group(n=43 cases)and control group(n=42 cases):the patients in the treatment group were given ginseng polysaccharide injection(30 mg?d-1)via intravenous drip plus routine chemotherapy, and the patients in control group were given routine chemotherapy only.RESULTS:There were significant differences between the treatment group and the control group in the karnofsky scores for evaluation of life quality,62.8%(27/43)vs.38.1%(16/42)scored more than 70(P0.05),but the incidence of nausea and vomi-ting at above Ⅱ degree was lower in the treatment group than in the control group [20.9%(9/43)vs.42.9%(18/42),P

Objective To evaluate the effects of pelvic autonomic nerve preservation(PANP) on urinary and sexual functions in postoperative patients with radical resection for rectal cancer. Methods The radical resection of rectal cancer was carried out in 256 cases of patients with rectal cancer in our hospital from January 2002 to August 2008.Patients were divided into study group (n=156) with PANP and control group (n=100) without PANP.The preserved functions of automatic micturition, male erection, ejaculation, the change of female orgasm, and local recurrence of tumor were observed in the two groups. Results The preserved functions of urination, male erection, ejaculation and female sexual orgasm in study group were significantly stronger than those in control group (P<0.01),and there Was no significant difference of local recurrence of tumors between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions The radical operation with PANP for rectal cancer can improve postoperative micturition and sexual function, and this method does not increase local tumor recurrence after operation.

Objective To establish model of the chicken embryo transplantation of human colon cancer cells ,and investigate the effect of Solanine、VEGF antibody and Solanine combined with VEGF antibody on human colon cancer cells induce tumor angio‐genesis and tumor proliferation .Methods The model of the chicken embryo transplantation of human colon cancer HT‐29 cells were divided into three experimental group and control group .We added to the chick embryo chorioallantoic membrane with Sola‐nine、VEGF antibody and Solanine+ VEGF antibody mixture ,PBS was added to the control group .Then we analysed picture through the stereomicroscope and IPP 6 .0 image analysis software ,using immunohistochemistry envision method to detect of CD34 antigen and ki‐67 antigen ,and observing effect of Solanine group ,VEGF antibody group ,Solanine+ VEGF antibody group and the effect on the tumor angiogenesis and tumor proliferation .Results The tumor angiogenesis ,CD34 antigen and ki‐67 antigen of Sola‐nine+VEGF antibody group were significantly better than those of VEGF antibody group and Solanine group(P<0 .01);VEGF antibody group had statistical significant difference with Solanine group(P<0 .01);the effect of other three groups were better than that of the control group(P<0 .01) .Conclusion Solanine、VEGF antibody and Solanine combined with VEGF antibody could in‐hibit tumor angiogenesis and tumor proliferation of human colon cancer cell line HT‐29 to induce .It provides a new way for anti‐an‐giogenes .

The present artificial anal sphincter fails to distinguish the different states of intestinal contents. In this study, we tried to distinguish the intestinal content by using a reflection type ultrasonic system, so as to lay the foundation for the development of artificial anal sphincter with sensing function. We measured the numbers of reflected waves when there were solid, liquid, gaseous or no contents in the recta of 30 Bama Miniature pigs. The results showed significant difference among the numbers of reflected waves of the 4 conditions ( = 1 088, < 0.05). Our research suggested the reflection-type ultrasonic system could be utilized to distinguish various contents inside the intestinal lumen, thus it might offer a new effective method for the development of artificial anal sphincter with sensing function.
