Objective To detect the expression of inhibitor of apoptosis protein survivin and mdr1 gene protein P-gp in ovarian epithelial carcinoma, and analyze their functions of drug resistance in chemotherapy and the relationship with pathological characteristics. Methods We detected the expression of survivin and mdr1 proteins in 8 cases of normal ovarian tissues,16 cases of benign epithelial ovarian tumor tissues and 46 cases of epithelial ovarian cancerous tissues(28 cases of serous cystadenocarcinoma,12 cases of mucinous cystadenocarcinoma, and 6 cases of endometrioid carcinoma) with immunohistochemistry. Results The positive rate of survivin and mdr1 proteins in ovarian cancerous tissues was 60.9% and 34.8%,respectively,which was significantly higher than that in benign epithelial ovarian tumor tissues(31.3% and 0%) and normal ovarian tissues(negative)(P

Objective To probe into the curative effect and functional mechanism of acupuncture treatment on obesity complicated with hyperlipidemia. Methods The 60 cases of simple obesity complicated with hyperlipidemia were randomized into treatment group and control group with 30 in each. The treatment group was treated with acupuncture only while the control group with routine medicinal therapy. Before and after treatment, the blood-fat index and symptoms and signs of patients were observed. The comparison of two groups after 3 courses of treatment was made to study the functions of acupuncture for obesity. Results In the treatment group, there showed regulated blood-fat levels and the decrease of triglyceride(TG) was significant. In the control group, there also showed regulated blood-fat levels to different degrees, and the difference in levels of total cholesterol(TC),low density lipoprotein(LDL),and apolipoprotein-B(ApoB) before and after treatment was significant. The TCM symptom scores of two groups were statistically different. Conclusion Acupuncture is effective for the simple obesity complicated with hyperlipidemia.

Objective To investigate the relationship between the changes of serum total bilirubin(TBil) and hybrid muscle crea-tine kinase isozyme(CK-MB),and its clinical implication in neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). Methods The levels of TBil and CK - MB were measured in 49 neonates with HIE (15 mild cases, 20 moderate cases and 14 serious cases), and 31 normal neonates on the first day and the fourth day after birth. Results The levels of TBil on the first day after birth were significantly higher than those in normal neonates;the levels of TBil were correlated with the severity of HIE(P

Objective To study the effect of aspirin on cell proliferation of human gastric cancer cell line SGC-7901 and the probab le mechanism involved. Methods Using MTT method, flow cytometr y (FCM),~~~3 H-TdR incorporation a nd electron microscopy, the effect of aspirin on the SGC-7901 of proliferation and related mechanism were studied. Results Results showed that th e growth of SGC -7901 was inhibited by aspirin. The inhibitory rates for growth of SGC-7901 we re positively correlated with the concentration and duration of aspirin in the m edia. ASA could inhibit DNA syntheses. Sub-G_1 pe ak was detected by FCM, and the rate of apoptosis was between 7.8% and (34.4)% . The cell ratios o f S and G_2/M increased, whereas the cell ratio of G_0/G_1 phase decreased (after) treatment and was in a dose-dependent manner. The SGC-7901 cell line exhibited some mor p hologic features of apoptosis, including cell shrinkage, nuclear condensation, D NA fragmentation, and formation of apoptotic bodies under electron microscopy. Conclusions Aspirin inhibited the growth of human gastric cancer ce ll line SGC-7901. The effects of aspirin on the phase of cell cycle and inducing apoptosis may be partially explained as the cytotoxic effects of aspirin.

Objective To established a bacteriemia model of BALB/c mice after infection with a ST-239 methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) strain, which was isolated and identified from Shanghai Huashan Hospital. Methods We monitored the clinical signs and gross observations of MRSA-infected mice, and examined the histopathology among different groups. Results This isolated MRSA strain ST-239 can induced a typical bacteriemia in BALB/c mice, including the severe mortality and extensive histopathologic injury. However, higher survival rate and slight inflammatory injury were observed in vancomycin-treated mices. Conclusion The solid results obatined in this model will benefit us to study the pathogenic characteristics and patholgenesis in MRSA-induced bacteriemia, and propeled us to seek a safety cure approaches in the future.

Objective To investigate the effect of malignant tumor on neuromuscular block of cisatracurium. Methods Sixty ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients with head and neck neoplasms (15 cases with benign tumor, 45 with malignant tumor), aged 18-64 yr, were randomly divided into 4 groups ( n = 15 each): Ⅰ benign tumor group (group B,3 × ED95 ); Ⅱ -Ⅳ different dose cisatracurium group (group C1 (2 × ED95 ), C2 (3 × ED95 ) and C3 (4 ×ED95)). Neuromuscular block was assessed with accelerograph F (TOF-watch SX). Single stimulation of ulnar nerve was used. Anesthesia was induced with TCI of propofol (target plasma concentration 3 μg/ml) and remifentanil (target effect-site concentration 3 ng/ml). Tracheal intubation was facilitated with cisatracurium 0.15 mg/kg in group B, and with cisatracurium 0.10, 0.15 and 0.20 mg/kg in group C1, C2 and C3 respectively. The onset time, clinical duration, time for recovery of T/Tc to 75 % and recovery index were recorded. Results The clinical duration, time for recovery of T/Tc to 75 % and recovery index were significantly longer in group C2 than in group B (P < 0.05). The onset time was significantly shorter, while the clinical duration and time for recovery of T/Tc to 75% were significantly longer in group C2 and C3 than in group C1 , and in group C3 than in group C2 ( P <0.05) .Conclusion The duration of action and recovery times of cisatracurium were prolonged in patients with malignant tumor.

OBJECTIVE:To observe clinical efficacy of epinephrine combined with vasopressin and naloxone for cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)and to investigate its mechanism. METHODS:64 patients with sudden cardiac and respiratory arrest were randomly divided into control group(epinephrine group),treatment group Ⅰ(epinephrine+vasopressin group)and treatment group Ⅱ(vasopressin+epinephrine+naloxone group). Spontaneous circulation, breathing recovery time, restoration of spontaneous circulation and respiration rate,24 h survival rate and discharge survival rate were observed and compared among different groups. RESULTS:As compared with control group, spontaneous circulation, breathing recovery time 24 h survival rate and discharge survival rate in treatment group Ⅰ and Ⅱwere increased significantly(P
