This study aims to explore the impact on patient's liver and kidney function by different dosage of Kudiezi injection. This study retrospectively analyzed 15 228 patients' records from 18 nationwide general hospital information system (HIS). All patients were treated with Kudiezi injection, 1 956 patients that were given doses of > 40 mL, which is above the recommended dose, acted as the observation group. Fifty-five patients receiving the recommended dose of < 40 mL were the control group. Data about alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), creatinine (Cr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) were collected before and after using Kudiezi injection, changes after treatment were outcomes. Also recorded were: age, costs, length of hospitalization and the patients' condition on admission. Propensity score method was used to balance 71 confounding variables such as gender, age, mortality, and costs. There were no significant difference on the four indexes between the two groups. It is hard to conclude that the use of Kudiezi injection over the recommended dose could influence the four indexes of liver and kidney from this data analysis. More conclusive evidence should be collected by further prospective study.

Chinese Journal of Nephrology 1997;0(06):-
Objective To analyze the pathological and clinical characteristics of patients with idiopathic IgA nephropathy accompanied by vasculitic/crescentic lesion (IgA-V/C). Methods Data of 222 patients diagnosed as idiopathic IgA nephropathy by renal biopsy, among them 87 cases with vasculitic/crescenlic (V/C)lesion, from our department in 2004 were analyzed retrospectively. Clinical and pathological data from patients with IgA-V/C were compared to those of non-IgA-V/C patients and of lupus nephritis (LN) patients with V/C lesion. Results Vasculitic/crescentic lesion was found in 39.19% (87/222) patients with idiopathic IgA nephropathy. And about( 14.08?12.75)% of the glomeruli was affected. It should be taken into account that there was no significant differences of clinical manifestations including blood pressure, urinary protein excretion between IgA-V/C group and non-IgA-V/C group .except serum creatinine(Scr)level which was significantly higher in IgA-V/C group. In addition, only 37.9% of IgA-V/C patients presented high Scr level, thus the lesion of V/C in idiopathic IgA nephropathy was easily overlooked. Patients with idiopathic IgA nephropathy were found to have higher percentage of glomerular sclerosis (64.86% vs 40.00%) and ratio of sclerostic glomeruli to total glomeruli [ (26.98 ?24.68)% vs (16.10 ?18.80)% ]as compared to LN group, which further predicated the progressing characteristics of IgA nephropathy. Conclusions Vasculitic/crescentic lesion is a quite common finding in idiopathic IgA nephropathy and often associated with no dramatically symptoms. It is possible for vasculitic/crescentic lesion to induce unmarked lose of nephron slowly and continually, so as to accelerate IgA nephropathy progression to end-stage renal failure.

ObjectiveTo explore the effect of estrogen on osteoblast apoptosis induced by serum hungry in vitro.MethodsOsteoblasts of second or third generation from newly born SD rats calvaria were divided randomly into the control group, serum hungry group and serum hungry with estrogen group. Cells of each group were incubated for 24 h, 48 h, 72 h, 5 d, 7 d and 14 d, then labeled using TUNEL staining and examined for morphological characteristics of apoptotic cell under light microscopy after incubated for 72 h. The rates of apoptotic cells of each group were examined with flow cytometry.ResultsThe cells of the control group showed normal appears, the serum hungry group had many cells with purple and blue particles in nuclei, but serum hungry with estrogen group had less such cells. The rate of apoptotic cell significantly increased in serum hungry group and decreased in serum hungry with estrogen group compared with the control group examined with flow cytometry (P<0.05).ConclusionEstrogen can repress osteoblasts apoptosis of rats induced by serum hungry.

Background Researches showed that the incidence rate of cataract is high in the nickel mining area. Nickel sulphate can apparently inhibit the metabolism and proliferation of human lens epithelium cells. But the study on the injury mechanism of nickel on lens is still seldom. Objective Present study was to investigate the effect of nickel sulphate on the lens of SD rats. Methods Forty-five SPF SD rats aged from 7 to 14 days were grouped randomly into subcutaneous injection group, intraperitoneal injection group and blank group. Nickel sulphate of 2 g/L ( 10 mg/kg) was subcutaneously or intraperitonealy injected for 45 days. The opacity of rat lens was examined under the slit lamp at two-week interval and scored based on the criteria of LOCS II and LOCS III. The rats were sacrificed in 45 days after experiment and the lens were obtained for the pathological examination. Result The mean score of the anterior subcapsule opacity of rat lens was obviously higher in subcutaneous injection group compared with blank control group with a significant difference between them (t= 14. 311, P < 0. 05 ) , but no significant difference in the anterior subcapsule opacity between intraperitoneal injection group and blank control group (t = 4. 355 , P>0. 05 ). The score of posterior subcapsule opacity of lens were evidently higher in both subcutaneous injection group and intraperitoneal injection group than the blank control group (t = 9. 316,P = 0. 004;t = 7. 464, P = 0. 009) ,so was the mean score of the anterior +posterior subcapsule opacities(t = 23. 387,P=0. 000;t= 10. 533,P = 0. 002) and the total score of rat lens opacity ( t = 12. 358 , P = 0. 001; t = 10. 188 , P = 0. 003 ) . No significant differences were found in cortex opacity score and nuclear opacity score among three groups ( P > 0.05 ). Histopathology examination revealed that the degeneration of lens collagen protein was more serious in subcutaneous injection group and intraperitoneal injection group than the blank control group, and the injury degree of lens collagen protein was more dominant in subcutaneous injection group. Conclusion System administration of nickel sulphate induced the injury of anterior and posterior subcapsule of lens in SD rat.
