To explore indications regularity of analogous decoctions of Erchen Decoction.323 analogous decoctions of Erchen Decoction were found in Concise Thesaurus of TCM Formula.Diseases and symptoms of TCM were analyzed.22 diseases and 118 symptoms of TCM were found.The main indication of analogous decoctions of Erchen Decoction included spleen-stomach and lung system,other symptoms were broadly involved.Erchen Decoction was the most appropriate for phlegm.

AIM: To study the changes of brain - derived neurotrophic factor ( BDNF ) expression in gene modified bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells ( BMSC) .
●METHODS:BMSC were divided into blank control group ( without transfected BMSC ) , negative control group ( empty vector without BDNF gene transfected BMSC) and experimental group ( BDNF gene transfected BMSC) . The expression of BDNF mRNA in BMSC was measured by Realtime PCR, and the expression of BDNF in BMSC was measured by ELlSA.
●RESULTS:The BDNF mRNA expressions of 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8-generation BMSC cells in the experimental group were higher than those in the blank control group and negative control group. The differences were statistically significant (P3: F=491. 788, P<0. 05; P4: F=380. 112, P<0. 05;P5:F=1854. 929, P<0. 05; P6: F=224. 540, P<0. 05;P7:F=619. 155, P<0. 05; P8: F=10. 092, P<0. 05). As the BMSC cells in the experimental group passaging, the BDNF mRNA expressions in the experimental group decreased. The difference of BDNF mRNA expression among different passage cells was statistically significant (F=298. 603, P<0. 05). The BDNF secretion of 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8-generation BMSC cells in the experimental group were higher than those in the blank control group and negative control group. The differences were statistically significant (P3: F=520. 609, P<0. 05; P4: F=734. 520, P<0. 05;P5:F=152. 847, P<0. 05;P6:F=80. 372, P<0. 05; P7:F=96. 083, P<0. 05;P8:F=38. 532, P<0. 05). As the BMSC cells in the experimental group passaging, the BDNF secretion decreased. The difference of BDNF secretion among different passage cells was statistically significant (F=230. 084, P<0. 05).
●CONCLUSION:Long-term expression of BDNF in BMSC can be enhanced by genetic engineering.

To study the protective effect and the mechanism of asiatic acid (AA) from Potentilla chinensis on alcohol hepatic injury in rats. Male Wistar rats were randomly divided into six groups: the normal control group, the AA control group (8 mg · kg(-1) AA), the model group (5.0-9.0 g · kg(-1) alcohol) and high, medium and low-dose AA-treated groups (alcohol + 8, 4, 2 mg · kg(-1) AA). Each group was orally administered with the corresponding drugs once a day for 24 weeks. Approximately 1. 5 hours after the final administration, all rats were killed, and their blood samples and hepatic tissues were collected. The AST and ALT in rat serum and the contents of MPO, TNF-α, IL-1β, SOD, GSH-Px, GSH-Rd and MDA in hepatic tissues were detected. The expressions of NF-κB, TLR4, CD14, MyD88, TRIF and protein expression in hepatic tissues were measured by western blot. The pathological changes in liver tissues were observed by histological examination. The results showed that compared with the model group, the AA-treated groups showed significant decreases in serum ALT, AST and MDA and increases in the activities of SOD, GSH-Px, GSH-Rd and MPO. Moreover, AA markedly inhibited the expressions of TNF-α, IL-1β, TLR4, CD14, MyD88 and NF-κB. The histological examination showed alleviated hepatic issue ijury to varying degrees. In short, asiatic acid (AA) from P. chinensis could protect alcohol-induced hepatic injury in rats. Its mechanism may be related to the inhibition of NF-κB inactivation and the reduction of inflammatory response.

Objective To investigate the relationship between the level of serum uric acid(SUA) and carotid atherosclerosis in male patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM). Methods A collection of 579 male T2DM patients with or without carotid atherosclerosis were grouped based on quartiles of SUA. Age, SUA, smokers, duration, body mass index(BMI), blood pressure, total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), blood urea nitrogen(BUN), creatinine(Cr), and HbA1C were determined in all subjects. The plaques in carotid arteries and intima-media thickness(IMT) were measured with high-resolution ultrasound. Results BMI, systolic and diastolic blood pressures, TG, and Cr showed a gradual increase, while HDL-C and HbA1C showed a gradual decrease according to the higher SUA quartiles in male T2DM(P＜0.05). Nevertheless, the detectable rates of smokers, duration, age, TC, LDL-C, and BUN had no relationships with the SUA quartiles(P＞0.05). The detectable rate of carotid atherosclerosis and the thickness of carotid plaque were positively associated with the levels of SUA in male patients with T2DM(P＜0.05). However, intima-media thickness of carotid arteries did not illustrate the correlation with the levels of SUA in male T2DM patients(P＞0.05). Age, HbA1C, and SUA were independent factors of carotid atherosclerosis in these patients by logistic regression(P＜0.05). Conclusion The levels of SUA seems to be associated with the occurrence and development of carotid atherosclerosis in male patients with T2DM.

ObjectiveTo investigate the imaging characteristic of DW1,tumor cell apoptosis and proliferation of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) xenograft transfected hNIS gene after 131Ⅰ treatment.MethodsThe NPC xenograft models were established with CNE-2-hNIS cells(experimental group) and CNE-2 cells(control group) respectively.After i.p.injections 131Ⅰ in the experimental group and control group,the changes of xenograft tumor volume and ADC value were observed in 3,6,12,18,24 days by MR scan.The correlations of changes of ADC with pathological TUNEL,Caspase-3 immunohistochemistry of apoptosis,and Ki-67 proliferation detection were further investigated.Independent samples t-test were compared between the two groups and Pearson linear correlation analysis was used.ResultsThe tumor volume of the experimental group was significantly reduced compared with that of the control group after 131 Ⅰ treatment (t values:8.27-19.46,P ＜0.05 ).DW-MRI showed that in the 3th day after 131Ⅰ treatment,ADC values increased in the experimental group,and ADC values reached the peak in the 6th and 12th day after 131Ⅰ treatment,then ADC values were decreased. ADC values after treatment was positively correlated with apoptotic index ( r =0.72,P ＜ 0.05 ) and caspase-3 positive rate ( r =0.65,P ＜ 0.05) and there was a negative correlation with Ki-67 proliferation index ( r =- 0.71,P ＜ 0.05 ).ConclusionADC values can reflect growth inhibition of NPC xenograft transfected hNIS gene after 131 I treatment.It is possible that DWMRI techniques can be used in early non-invasively monitor the therapy effect of 131Ⅰ treatment of NPC xenografts transfected hNIS gene.

Objective To study the Clinical characteristics of Parkinson′s disease(PD) in natural population.Methods All the patients diagnosed as Parkinsonism from a prevalence study in Beijing in 1997 were collected for investigation. The spectrum of the clinical features of Parkinsonism and the onset, progression and prognosis of PD were analysed, as well as the impact factors to the prognosis were analysed. Results 109 cases were ascertained as PD from the sample population, in which 64(58.7% ) were PD, 11 (10. 1% ) were Parkinsen plus syndrome and 34(31.2% ) were symptom Parkinsonism. 30 of the 64 PD cases were male. The median age of PD was 74. 5 years. The median age at onset was 68 years old. The median duration was 5 years. The average Hoehn-Yahr staging score was 2. 81. The clinical characteristics of PD and other Parkinsonism were compared, as asymmetry of symptoms and signs was an important feature to differentiate PD from other Parkinsonism. 20. 3 percent of PD cases were associated with dementia.16(25% )of the 64 PD cases initiated with essential tremor and developed to PD during 6 ～ 49 years after the onset of tremor. Tremor was the dominant initial symptoms of PD(60. 9% ). Type of initial symptoms was a relatively definite impact factor to the prognosis of PD. Levodopa treatment was likely to delay the duration of PD. Conclusions The clinical features of Parkinsonism in natural population were different as compared with previous studies. A further study on the natural history of PD thoroughly is needed.

Twelve cases of Bartter's syndrome were reported and reviewed retrospectively.Usually vomiting was the first sympton in children,while fatigue was common in adults.Bartter's syndrome was characteristic of hypokalemia,metabolic alkalosis,elevations of plasma renin activity,serum angiotersinⅡand aldosterone and juxtaglomerular apperatus hyperplasia.Supplementation of potassium choloride was the main manner of therapy.

OBJECTIVE: To discuss the relation between degree of body impairment and that of thoracolumbar spinal injuries resulting from road traffic accidents, and sum up the experiences in body impairment assessment and its regularity. METHODS: For comprehensive body impairment assessment, 477 cases of thoracolumbar spinal injuries in road accidents have been sorted out, reassessed and rediagnosed. In addition, analyses have been undertaken about their treatment, the assessment of the degree of their thoracolumbar dysfunction,nerve dysfunction and the relations between injuries and sequelaes. RESULTS: The analyses show that the degree of thoracolumbar dysfunction and that of the post-injury nerve dysfunction don't necessarily depend on the quantity and degree of spinal injuries. However, the position suffering from the thoracolumbar spinal injuries has an immense impact on the thoracolumbar dysfunction, and the nerve impairment result mainly from the T1-1L spinal injuries. The research also shows that there has been a high misdiagnosis rate in hospital about the spinal injuries. CONCLUSION In body impairment assessment, the cause and effect relations between the injury and degree of injury extent should be analyzed, the injury extent should be employed as principal evidence, and the degree of spinal dysfunction should be taken into greater consideration.

OBJECTIVE: To discuss forensic identification of floating shoulder injury (FSI). METHODS: To analyze fifteen cases of FSI which were accepted from Jan. 1993 to Jan. 2006, including 15 shoulder neck fracture, 13 clavide stem fracture and 2 distal end clavide fracture, the function of shoulder joint was evaluated six months after injure considering the following three aspects: result of forensic examination such as X-ray photograph, CT and MRI, the injurers' symptom, objective sign and joint function, shoulder joint territory, degree of pain and local muscle power. RESULTS: Basing on the curative effect standard of Herscovic, all cases were divided into good. Modest, worst, which included 2, 4, 9 cases respectively; referring the standard of GA35-92, GB18667-2002, all cases were divided into six, seven, eight, nine and ten degree, which included 2,9,2,1,1 cases respectively. CONCLUSION As a special powerful injure, FSI always companied with concurrent and multiple injure, and characterized by missed, incorrect and delayed diagnosis and infelicitous treatment, which lead to the high frequency and degree of injure. To prevent missed and incorrect forensic identification, we should have a full realization of the particularity of FSI, and evaluate the function of shoulder all-sidely, objectively and synseticaly.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate changes of brainstem auditory evoked potential (BAEP) in patients with brain concussion. METHODS: Nineteen patients with brain concussion were studied with BAEP examination. The data was compared to the healthy persons reported in literatures. RESULTS: The abnormal rate of BAEP for patients with brain concussion was 89.5%. There was a statistically significant difference between the abnormal rate of patients and that of healthy persons (P<0.05). The abnormal rate of BAEP in the brainstem pathway for patients with brain concussion was 73.7%, indicating dysfunction of the brainstem in those patients. CONCLUSION BAEP might be helpful in forensic diagnosis of brain concussion.
