Objective To explore the impact of executive function intervention on the executive functioning of elderly patients with cerebral infarction,and to seek the best way to improve executive function in such patients.Methods Eighty elderly patients with cerebral infarction were randomly divided into an intervention group and a control group.A series of executive function interventions were administered to those in the intervention group with no intervention in the control group.The two groups were given the same conventional medication.The Behavioral Assessment of the Dysexecutive Syndrome (BADS) was taken before the intervention,then 3 months and 6 months after recruitment.Results In the intervention group the average score and the total standard score had increased significantly after 3 months except for the action program test and the modified six elements test.Both indicators were still significantly increased from the baseline afar 6 months except for the modified six elements test.The average score and the total standard score had increased significantly between 3 months and 6 months except on the key search test.Both the time determination test and the total standard score had statistically significant average differences.The control group showed no significant differences.After 3 months,the average scores and the total test standard scores in the intervention group were signifieantiy higher than those in control group except on the action program test.The rules conversion card test,the time determination test and the total standard score difference all showed statistically significant differences between the groups.After 6 months the intervention group's scores remained significantly higher than those of the control group except on the action program test.Conclusions Executive function interventions are effective in delaying the progress and improving the prognosis of executive dysfunction in elderly patients with cerebral infarction,and the therapy has persistent effects.

Bone marrow transplantation was considered effective treatment for leukemias and other haematological diseases. Acute graft v-host disease (GVHD) is a major complication of allogeneic bone marrow transplantation. The T lymphocytes were specially depleted by anti-CD5, CD2, CD8, CD27 monoclonal antibody-ricin immunotoxins. Inhibition of the protein synthesis and T-cell functions in the target cells was observed in vitro. At 10 9mol / L of the immunotoxin, 3 logs (99.9%) of target cells were killed, but no cytotoxicity on nontarget cells. At the same concentration, the anti T cell immunotoxin had no any influence on the proliferating rate of CFU-GM and BFU E. None of the ten patients who received T cell depleted bone marrow developed grade III or IV acute GVHD.

Objective To explore endoscopic diagnosis,treatment,pathological features and prognosis of gastrointestinal carcinoid tumors.Methods Retrospective analysis of 72 cases of gastrointestinal carcinoid tumors which were endoscopically diagnosed,treated,pathologically confirmed and followed up from July 2004 to July 2010 in Shanxi Provincial People' s Hospital.Common endoscopic diagnosis,endoscopic ultrasound(EUS)diagnosis,pathological features,treatment and prognosis were summarized.Results Twenty six cases of upper gastrointestinal carcinoid tumors and 46 cases of lower gastrointestinal carcinoid tumors were diagnosed and followed up.A total of 65 cases were single carcinoid and 7 were multiple carciniods.Tumors were mostly yellowish hard nodules with limited range of movement.EUS showed uneven hypoechoic nodules in the submucosal layer.Fifty-one cases of single carcinoid tumor were successfully treated with endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR)or endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)and the cure rate was 96.2％(51/53).Three cases of multiple carciniods were cured with EMR and the cure rate was 3/7.There was no tumor recurrence after treatment during follow-up.Conclusions Endoscopy examination is an important way to detect early carcinoid tumors.Endoscopic ultrasound probe can further clarify source and level of the lesion,and provide the basis for the endoscopic therapy.EMR and ESD are the preferred radical treatment for early carcinoid tumors.

Objective To observe the bacteriostasis of herba houttuyniae liquid in bladder irrigation for treatment of rabbit bladder infection model, and to offer a new way for prevention and treatment of urinary tract infection.Methods Twenty male New Zealand long-eared white rabbits were divided into gentamicin control group and three different concentrations herba houttuyniae groups according to random number table method, each group 5 rabbits. The rabbit bladder infection model was replicated by injecting coli liquid 1 mL (105 cfu/mL) into the urinary bladder through a urethral catheter, and clipping the catheter for 1 hour. After model establishment for 3 days, in the three herba houttuyniae groups, 0.25, 0.50, 1.00 g/mL herba houttuyniae liquid 50 mL were injected into the bladder respectively, and in the gentamicin control group, 160 kU gentamicin was injected into the bladder. Before molding and after molding for 3, 5, 7, 9 days, ear blood in rabbit was taken, and white blood cell (WBC) count and neutrophil percentage (N%) were tested; at the same time, the middle segment morning urine was taken to detect bacteriuria and urine WBC positive rates; after the experiment, the animals were sacrificed, the urinary bladder tissues were taken, and the pathological changes in urinary bladder tissue were observed by a light microscope.Results Before molding, the bacteriuria in animals of each group was negative and the results of urine WBC, blood WBC and N% were within normal range. After molding for 3 days, bacteriuria and urine WBC positive rates reached 100%; with the prolongation of treatment after molding, the above two rates in each group were gradually decreased, and herba houttuyniae 0.50 g/mL and 1.00 g/mL groups appeared statistical significance on the 5th day (bacteriuria positive rate was 60% and 40%, urine WBC positive rate was 60% and 40% respectively, while the gentamicin control group and herba houttuyniae 0.25 g/mL group was still 100% positive, allP < 0.01); on the 9th day, the bacteriuria positive rate in both higher dosage herba houttuyniae groups was 0, in 0.25 g/mL group, it still had the positive rate 20%, showing herba houttuyniae 0.50 g/mL and 1.00 g/mL had stronger inhibitory effect than herba houttuyniae 0.25 g/mL. WBC and N% were increased in each group after molding, and on the 3rd day, WBC and N were significantly higher in each group than those before molding [WBC (×109/L): gentamicin control group 13.00±5.23 vs. 8.95±2.69, herba houttuyniae 0.25 g/mL group 14.52±10.28 vs. 8.73±3.16, herba houttuyniae 0.50 g/mL group 12.97±11.33 vs. 7.83±4.51, herba houttuyniae 1.00 g/mL group 13.03±9.17 vs. 6.45±3.85. N%: gentamicin control group 80.99±14.93 vs. 63.41±7.96, herba houttuyniae 0.25 g/mL group 89.62±9.41 vs. 70.01±9.13, herba houttuyniae 0.50 g/mL group 87.69±11.34 vs. 67.75±8.91, herba houttuyniae 1.00 g/mL group 85.67±12.81 vs. 65.12±4.63]. On the 7th day, WBC and N% fell, and on the 9th day, the WBC and N% were restored to normal range in herba houttuyniae 0.50 g/mL and 1.00 g/mL groups [WBC (×109/L): herba houttuyniae 0.50 g/mL group 8.56±5.38, herba houttuyniae 1.00 g/mL group 7.93±4.82. N%: herba houttuyniae 0.50 g/mL group 65.97±8.35, herba houttuyniae 1.00 g/mL group 65.57±9.12]. Under light microscopy, it was shown that the morphological appearances of tissue cells in various layers of bladder mucosa were normal in herba houttuyniae group, demonstrating that herba houttuyniae fluid in bladder did not cause allergic inflammatory reaction, etc.Conclusion The bacteriostatic action of herba houttuyniae liquid for bladder irrigation in treatment of rabbits with urinary tract infection is better than that of gentamicin.

Diffusion tensor imaging(DTI) is an efficient and noninvasive tool to investigate the characteristics and functions of white matter fiber tracts,and it can be used to study the relationship between the structure and function in the nervous system,the plasticity and damage repair of visual development,abnormalities of the white matters that relate to the visual pathways.Recently,the quantification of white matter fiber tracts from the lateral geniculate bodies to the occipital lobe visual cortex using DTI offers morphological information for the function and structure of the white matters during visual development.Some studies attempt to compare the DTI outcomes and tractography between amblyopic children and normal children so as to better display the variations of optic radiation in children with amblyopia,and to evaluate the relationship between structure and function of the white matters.DTI becomes an important supplementary research approach in these fields.This paper reviews the application of DTI in visual development and amblyopic eyes.

Objective:To extract, separate and identify the flavonoids in Humulus Scandens and detect their cytotoxic effect on cells HepG2. Methods: After Humulus scandens bing was extracted by alcohol, luteolin-7-O-β-D-glucoside ( LGL) and cosmoiin ( AGL) were obtained by using column chromatography and identified by spectral analysis. The inhibitory effects of LGL and AGL on HepG2 cells were detected by a typan blue dye method. Results:The main flavonoids in Humulus Scandens were LGL and AGL. When the concentration of LGL and AGL was increased from 6. 25 μmol·L-1 to 100. 0 μmol·L-1 , the inhibition rate of LGL was increased from 28. 8% to 95. 2% and that of AGL was increased from 3. 6% to 21. 3%. Conclusion: LGL has notable inhibitory effect on HepG2 cells in a dose-dependent manner, while the inhibitory effect of AGL is not obvious.

Objective To investigate the difference between nodular gastritis and atrophy gastritis.Methods During 2004.4～2005.3, the clinical, endoscopic and pathological findings of nodular gastritis and atrophy gastritis were analysed.Results Nodular gastritis is usually classified as nodular type A(nodular gastritis) and type B(atrophic gastritis with nodular changes). The endoscopic appearance of nodular gastritis was characterized as uniform miliary pattern and predominantly affected young women. The incidence of dyspeptic symptom was higher in patients with nodular gastritis than in atrophy gastritis. Nodular gastritis in adults is caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. Antral biopsy specimens showed lymphoid follicle formation and/or marked lymphoid aggregates. The prevalence of lymphoid follicle formation in the antrum was higher in patients with nodular gastritis than atrophy gastritis. Moderate to severe atrophy gastritis also usually has the same nodular endoscopic appearance,but that is not uniform and intensive.Conclusion Nodular gastritis is a very special gastritis with Helicobacter pylori infection and is different from atrophy gastritis.It is worth to be noticed.
