Objective To discuss the experience of antegrade radical retropublic prostatectomy. Methods Thirty cases of prostate cancer were treated by antegrade radical retropublie prostateeto-my. The mean age of patients was 64 years. There were 8 cases of T_1, 15 cases of T_2, and 7 cases of T_3. The surgery included following procedures: Firstly the vesical neck was divided. Then the seminal vesicle and the prostate were freed from above downward. After the urethra was separated from the prostatic apex, the proximal end of urethra was sutured to the new vesical neck. Results All the 30 laparoscopic surgeries were accomplished successfully. The mean operative time was 2.5 hours. The mean blood loss was 350 ml in the operation. No ureteral injury, rectal injury and other severe compli-cation was observed. Histopathologic study showed prostate cancer for all the cases. Four cases had positive surgical margins. All cases were followed up from 6 to 48 months (average 25 months) with-out dysuria and permanent incontinence. No death occurred. Sexual function recovered in 7/13(54%) cases after the operation. Conclusions Antegrade radical retropublic prostatectomy provides low complication, tittle bleeding and positive surgical margins. It is an effective and sale procedure to treat prostate cancer.

Objective To explore the relationship between serum placental growth factor (PLGF) and carotid atherosclerosis (CAS) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM ). Methods Serum PLGF were determined by ELISA in 53 patients with T2DM ,who were divided into T2DM without carotid plague (T2DM group ,n= 27) and T2DM with carotid plague (T2DM + CAS group ,n= 26). Fasting plasma glucose (FPG) ,glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) and some other metabolic variables were also measured. The results were compared to those of 27 healthy controls (NC group). Results Serum PLGF levels were significantly higher in T2DM group and T2DM + CAS group than in NC group (P<0.01). T2DM+CAS group showed significantly higher serum levels of PLGF compared to that of T 2DM group(P<0.01).Correlation analysis showed that serum PLGF was positively correlated with TC ,LDL‐C , hsC‐RP and IL‐6 in T2DM patients (P<0.01). Similarly ,multiple regression analysis showed that LDL‐C and IL‐6 were the independent factors of serum PLGF level (P<0.05). Furthermore ,Serum PLGF was positively associated with carotid plague. Conclusion PLGF is positively related with chronic inflammation factors in T2DM patients. Serum PLGF may play an important role in the occurrence and development of carotid atherosclerosis and other macroangiopathy in T 2DM.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2004;0(07):-
Osteoclasts are derived from pluripotent stem cells in bone marrow and spleen. They play a critical role in inflammation-induced bone loss and joint destruction because in the absence of them, bone de- struction does not occur even when inflammation exists.Synovioblasts in an inflamed joint can secrete numerous inflammatory factors, including tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-?)and interleukin-1(IL-1)which not only induce inflammatory reactions but also elevate osteoclast formation and function indirectly or directly through promoting RANKL expression. In this wdy the inflammatory reactions are associated with bone loss and destruction. In this article,we focus on the recent progress in study of TNF-?,IL-1 and osteoclast-target therapies in management of osteoclast-mediated inflammatory bone loss.TNF-?promotes differentiation of osteoclast precursor cells in the peripheral blood and spleen, which causes a marked increase in mature osteoclasts in a diseased joint. However, IL-I supports osteoblast survival and regulates the recombination of osteoclast cytoskeleton, which further stimulates bone resorption.Since osteoclast-target therapies may inhibit osteoclast formation and function, they are becoming more and more important for inflammation-induced bone loss and joint destruction.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(02):-
The intracellular hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) content per cell was increased by 7.2-fold in the culture with 1.5% dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) compared with that in the control without DMSO, while the extracellular HBsAg production and specific productivity were only improved by 70% and 3.2-fold, respectively. Electron microscope has been employed to reveal large dilated structures within recombinant CHO cells in the presence DMSO. The dilated structures have a distribution within whole cytoplasm, and some dilated areas were engulfed in the nucleus. These large, dilated structures were not observed in the control. Immunogold labeling was used to discover the accumulated HBsAg was localized within these dilated areas, and some HBsAg-specific labels were detected in the nucleus membrane, owing to the encroachment of the dilated areas upon nucleus. The result could help to reveal the mechanism of intracellular HBsAg accumulation in the presence of DMSO.

Objective To investigate the effect of ligustrazine on the expression of platelet-derived growth factor-?(PDGF-?) receptor and extracellular signal regulated kinase(ERK1/2) induced by angiotensin Ⅱ(AngⅡ) in cardiac myocytes, and explore the mechanism of therapeutic. Methods Cultured cardiac myocytes of neonatal rats were treated with 10-7 mol/L AngⅡ as Ang Ⅱ group,10-7 mol/L AngⅡ plus 10 mg/L ligustrazine as ligustrazine group, the normally cultured neonatal rat cardiac myocytes as control group.Protein synthesis was measured by -leucine incorporation, and the expression of PDGF-? receptor and ERK1/2 was detected by Western blot.SPSS 11.0 software was used to analyze the data. Results There were significant differences among 3 groups(F=20.71 P

Objective To understand the cognition of clinical medical postgraduates' professional ethics,in order to provide the basis for the further development of graduate professional ethics education. Methods The survey was carried out among 650 graduate students of the first hospital of Jilin University by self-designed questionnaires. The questionnaires included the general situation and the understanding of professional ethics of medicine. All data were analyzed by SPSS 17.0,using Chi-square test to compare the results in different grades about the understanding of professional ethics. Results In this study,a total of 650 questionnaires were issued, and 629 valid questionnaires were collected with a recovery rate of 96.7%.Most graduates' professional values were in line with the socialist core values. For example, for the attitude of medical workers to accept red envelopes,410 graduate students (65.2%) firmly opposed to accepting this behavior. For the purpose of the study medicine, there was no statistically significant difference among different grades (P=0.273).For the attitude of red paper, the main problem in medical ethics education and the biggest factor for graduates, there was statistically significant difference among different grades (P=0.012,P=0.002,P=0.002,respectively).Conclusion At present, the professional ethics of postgraduates in clinical medicine is in good condition, but still needs to be improved. We can give further education and guidance to students for the problems existing in graduate students of different grades.
