Objective To explore the pathogenesis of femoral head ischemic necrosis(FHIN),and to observe the clinical therapeutic effects of extracorporeal shock waves therapy(ESWT) for FHIN in soldiers. Methods With exclusion of the femoral head necrosis sAbsequent to femoral neck fracture,108 cases of FHIN in ARCO stage Ⅰ-Ⅲ period, induding 86 males and 22 females, with aged ranged from 17 to 25 years, were involved in the present study, and the treatment modality was chosen by patients voluntarily. In 50 patients,ESWT combined with drilling decompression procedure(ESWT group) was chosen, and 9-12kV(0.16-0.22mJ/mm2) of extracorporeal shock wave was applied on the second day after drilling decompression.X-ray and MRI of bilateral hip joints were taken and Harris hip score(HHS) was estimated at 6 and 12 months after treatment.58 patients chose the treatment of simple drilling decompression served as controls. The results of the two groups were analyzed by Student's paired t test. Results No aggravation of FHIN occurred in the two groups. The average ratio of necrosis zone in ESWT group was diminished by 22.9%,32.8% and 34.3%,respectively,in the stages of ARCO Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ,and the improvement was better in ARCO Ⅱ and Ⅲ stages than that in control group(P

“Mechanical memory” approach was commonly used in the knowledge learning of traditional Chinese medicine, which makes students often feel that the knowledge is too abstract, and this method is thus ineffective. “Qihuang the way” using Unity 3D game development platform inte-grates the elements of medical knowledge of the Chinese medical history, and combines TCM theoretical knowledge learning with serious games , which can help invoke students' enthusiasm and improve learning efficiency in an entertaining way.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2013;(45):7847-7854
BACKGROUND:Chondromodulin-Ⅰ is expressed mainly in the cartilage, but it is little expressed in mesenchymal stem cells. Combined with the previous study of our group, we concluded that chondromodulin-Ⅰmaybe play an important role in inducing mesenchymal stem cells into chondrocytes accurately.
OBJECTIVE:To construct an expression plasmid stably carrying chondromodulin-Ⅰ to up-regulate the expression of chondromodulin-Ⅰ in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.
METHODS:Specific primers were designed in rat cartilage for chondromodulin-Ⅰ gene, then the pcDNA3.1 (+) plasmid expression vector was digested by enzyme and directional connected gene to construct pcDNA3.1(+)/ChM-Ⅰ expression vector. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were obtained from rats using the method of density gradient centrifugation combined with adherent culture. Recombinant plasmid pcDNA3.1(+)/ChM-Ⅰ was transfected into rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells with liposome method, and G418 selection was used for stable screen of transfected cells. Reverse transcription-PCR and western blot were used to detect chondromodulin-Ⅰ expression in celllines.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The positive clones were digested by enzyme and were identified and sequenced. The results showed that the reality length and sequence of chondromodulin-Ⅰ gene were consistent with the theoretical values, and reading frame was correct. Reverse transcription-PCR and western blot results showed that the expressions of chondromodulin-ⅠmRNA and protein were markedly up-regulated in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells. Recombinant plasmid pcDNA3.1(+)/ChM-I was successful y constructed, and transfected into rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells. After G418 selection, expression of chondromodulin-Ⅰ was up-regulated stably in rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2014;(4):13-16
Objective To investigate the research status of domestic TCM systems biology in recent ten years, and provide reference for further research. Methods TCM systems biology literatures published in domestic journal were retrieved and screened. The data were analyzed from the annual distribution, regional distribution, research institutions, source journals, research fields, and so on. Results The total literature of TCM systems biology showed an increasing tendency. The research mainly distributed in TCM chemical matteromics, TCM genomics, TCM proteomics, TCM metabolomics, and TCM informatics. Beijing, Guangdong and Shanghai were in the leading position. Conclusion The development trend of domestic study on TCM systems biology is rising year by year, and the understanding of the subject is continuously improving.

Objective To study the technological parameters of the purification process for active cons-tituents from Saussurea involucrata. Methods Using absorption and desorption rates of syringin, chologenic acid, and rutin as the primary screening indexes, four resins were selected, and the conditions of absorption and desorption were optimized for active constituents. Results Resin HPD400 gave good separation performance and was selected to purify the active constituents in S.involucrata.The optimum parameters were established as followings:4 BV(bed volume)sample extract whose pH value was adjusted to pH 2-3 by HCl was passed through the column with a flow rate of 1 BV/h,12 h later, the column was washed with 4 BV water,6 BV 30% ethanol and 4 BV 50% ethanol, respectively. The combined 30% and 50% ethanolic elutes were taken as object products. Conclusion The contents of active constituents were increased to about five times.Macroporous absorption resin HPD400 could be well used in separating and purifying the active constittuents from S.involucrata.

OBJECTIVE:To provide identification reference for the clinical use of Cinnabaris. METHODS:TCM micro-macro-scopical identification method and microscopic identification method were used. RESULTS:The micro-macroscopical characteristics were obtained:irregular granule or sheet block, different forms, wide bright red, opuque translucent with some luster; some sam-ples showed irregular lump with big shape, red scale on surface, dulling or gray-black. The were microscopic characteristics ob-tained:different forms of irregular granule, some sheet block, wide bright red, with some luster, occasionally with yellow gran-ules. CONCLUSIONS:The method for micro-macroscopical identification and microscopic identification of Cinnabaris is simple and convenient, and it can be used for the rapid verification of Cinnabaris.

Object The mineralogical and chemical compositions of the natural pharmaceutical montmorillonite clay were analysed with the aim of approaching the material base of its action Methods The means of X ray diffraction (SRD) and X ray fluorescence (SRF) were used for the quantitative analysis of the mineralogical and chemical compositions of the montmorillonite clay samples Results The essential mineralogical and chemical compositions of the six samples were obtained Conclusion Though there is some difference in mineralogical composition of the montmorillonite clay samples from different deposits, the average percentage of montmorillonite content in samples is 86%, and the chemical compositions of six samples are nearly similar
