Objective To study the effects of Tan Ⅱ A on the expression of c-Met and HIF-lα in gastric cancer SGC7901 cells under hypoxia and the correlation between c-Met and HIF-lα expression. Methods The model of hypoxia was established by CoCl2. There were three groups; normal control group, hypoxia control group, and hypoxia combined with different concentrations of Tan ⅡA group. After Tan ⅡA was added to the media with 0.5, 2.0 and 10.0 mg/L respectively for 48 h under hypoxia, the expression of HIF-1α and c-Met protein was detected by immunocytochemical staining. Results Immunocytochemical staining revealed that the expression of HIF-1α and c-Met protein was inhibited by Tan ⅡA in a dose-dependent manner under hypoxia. High positive correlation was found between the expression of HIF-1α and c-Met (n = 4, r = 0. 996, P <0.01). Conclusion Tan ⅡA might inhibit the expression of c-Met protein via down-regulation of HIFlα protein expression under hypoxia, suggesting that Tan ⅡA might play an important role in fighting against hypoxia-stimulated invasion and metastasis of tumor.

Objective:
To investigate the status of overweight and obesity and associated factors among primary and middle school students in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, so as to provide insights into formulating the prevention and control strategies for overweight and obesity in students.
Methods:
Primary and middle school students from 5 counties (cities, districts) of Huzhou City were selected by using stratified cluster random sampling method from September to November, 2023. The general information, dietary habits and exercise behaviors were collected using the Student Health Status and Influencing Factors Questionnaire. Height and weight were measured, and body mass index was used to analyze overweight and obesity in primary and middle school students. A multivariable logistic regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors of overweight and obesity.
Results:
A total of 7 573 students were surveyed, including 3 791 males (50.06%) and 3 782 females (49.94%). There were 2 754 primary school students (36.37%), 2 744 junior high school students (36.23%) and 2 075 senior high school students (27.40%). There were 2 166 students with overweight and obesity (28.60%), 1 186 students with overweight (15.66%), and 980 students with obesity (12.94%). Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that gender (female, OR=0.546, 95%CI: 0.493-0.604), frequency of sweetened beverage consumption (once and more per day, OR=1.349, 95%CI: 1.102-1.650), and frequency of milk and milk products consumption (less than once per day, OR=0.742, 95%CI: 0.577-0.954) were the influencing factors for overweight and obesity in primary and middle school students.
Conclusion
The prevalence of overweight and obesity among primary and middle school students in Huzhou City is 28.60%, and is associated with gender, frequency of sweetened beverages and milk and milk products consumption.

Abstract: Objective To investigate the diagnostic efficacy of rifampin-resistant real-time fluorescent quantitative nucleic acid amplification detection technology (GeneXpert MTB/RIF) in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) combined with peripheral blood tuberculosis infection T cell spot test (T-SPOT) and tuberculosis antibody (TB-Ab) in smear-negative pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods The clinical data of 114 cases of clinically diagnosed smear-negative pulmonary tuberculosis, 80 cases of non-tuberculous pulmonary diseases and 22 cases of smear-positive pulmonary tuberculosis in our hospital from January 2019 to January 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. The detection results of peripheral blood T-SPOT, TB-Ab and BALF GeneXpert in the three groups were analyzed. The sensitivity, specificity, negative predictive value, positive predictive value, false negative rate, false positive rate and Youden index of the three detection methods were compared. The differences in the positive detection rate of smear-negative pulmonary tuberculosis between the separate detection and the combined detection of the three methods were compared. The receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) was performed to calculate the area under the curve (AUC). Results The sensitivity of BALF GeneXpert and peripheral blood T-SPOT and TB-Ab was 66.91%, 80.88% and 90.44%, respectively. The specificity was 98.75%, 73.75% and 41.25%, respectively; the diagnostic coincidence rates were 78.70%, 78.24% and 72.22%, respectively, which were higher than 70.00%. In the smear-negative pulmonary tuberculosis group, the positive detection rates of these three methods in the smear-negative pulmonary tuberculosis group were 63.15%, 79.82% and 90.35%, respectively, and the differences were statistically significant compared with those in the non-tuberculosis pulmonary disease group (all P<0.01). The positive detection rate of the three combined methods in the smear-negative pulmonary tuberculosis group was 96.49 %, which was significantly higher than that of TB-GeneXpert method and T-SPOT, and the differences were statistically significant (χ2=37.283, P<0.01; χ2=13.612, P<0.01); the Youden index of combined detection was significantly higher than that of single detection, and the AUC of combined detection was 0.977, which was significantly higher than that of single detection. Conclusion BALF GeneXpert combined with peripheral blood T-SPOT and TB-Ab can significantly improve the diagnostic rate of bacterial-negative pulmonary tuberculosis, providing a strong basis for guiding clinical treatment.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the role of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) in the apoptosis of human bronchial epithelial cells (BEAS-2B) induced by refractory ceramic fibers (RCFs).
METHODSBEAS-2B cells were exposed to 10, 20, 40, 80, and 160 µg/cm(2) RCF1, RCF2, and RCF3 for 24 h, and the cell viability was measured by CCK-8 assay. BEAS-2B cells were exposed to 20, 40, and 100 µg/cm(2) RCF1, RCF2, and RCF3 for 24 h, and the cell apoptosis rate was measured by flow cytometry. BEAS-2B cells were exposed to 40 µg/cm(2) RCF1, RCF2, and RCF3, and the expression levels of phospho-p38 MAPK and caspase-3 were measured by Western blot. In each of the above treatments, the BEAS-2B cells were divided into positive control, p38 inhibitor SB203580 intervention, and normal groups.
RESULTSAs the concentration of RCFs rose, the RCF exposure groups showed decreased cell viability and increased cell apoptosis rate. After SB203580 intervention, the intervention groups (all concentrations of asbestos + SB, 20, 40, 80, and 160 µg/cm(2)RCF1+SB, and 40, 80, and 160 µg/cm(2) RCF2 and RCF3+SB) had significantly increased cell viabilities (P < 0.05), and the intervention groups (asbestos + SB and 20, 40, and 100 µg/cm(2) RCF1, RCF2, and RCF3 + SB) had significantly decreased cell apoptosis rates (P < 0.05). Compared with the normal group, the RCF (40 µg/cm(2)) exposure and positive control groups had significantly increased expression of phospho-p38 MAPK (P < 0.05), and the RCF (40 µg/cm(2)) exposure group had significantly increased expression of caspase-3 (P < 0.05). The intervention groups (asbestos + SB and 40 µg/cm(2) RCF1, RCF2, and RCF3 + SB) had significantly decreased expression of caspase-3 after SB203580 intervention.
CONCLUSIONp38 MAPKs play an important role in RCF-induced apoptosis of BEAS-2B cells.

Objective To study the relationship between coronary arteriographic and fluorescence fundus angiographic characteristics in type 2 diabetic patients with coronary heart disease. Methods The study was carried out by the analysis of the data from coronary arteriography and fluorescence fundus angiography in 203 type 2 diabetic patients with coronary heart disease in different groups divided according to age or total cholesterol level. Logisitic regression analysis was applied to explore various risk factors to angiographic characteristics. Results With advancing age, there were more involvement of 3 coronary vessels or the left main branch along with stageⅢretinopathy, but less single vessel diseases in the coronary arteries and less stageⅠretinopathy. The difference in coronary angiographic and fluorescence fundus angiographic characteristics between groups with different total cholesterol levels was not significant.Logistic regression analysis suggested that coronary artery diaease was related to age,sex and blood glucose and triglyceride levels while diabetic retinopathy was related to blood glucose level and age. Conclusion There is great difference in coronary arteriography and fluorescence fundus angiography among different age groups.Aging may aggravate the lesions both in the coronary arteries and fundal vessels in type 2 diabetic patients with coronary heart diseease.

BACKGROUND:Hand-foot-mouth disease has become a major public health issue in children in China. In the present prospective study we investigated the clinical characteristics and emergency management of children with severe encephalitis associated with NPE caused by enterovirus 71. METHODS:The study was conducted in 2 pediatric intensive care units (PICUs) over a 2-month period. Clinical records were reviewed of critically ill children with severe encephalitis associated with NPE caused by EV71 who were admitted to PICUs during the period of May to June 2008 in Fuyang. RESULTS:We reviewed the complete records of 36 children, of whom 23 (63.9%) were male and 13 (36.1%) female. Their age ranged from 4 to 48 months, with an average of 15.8 months. Al children except one were under 3 years of age. The overal mortality in these children was 19.4%. The average duration of critical life threatening signs and symptoms was 2.1 days (12 hours-5 days). Nervous system diseases included brainstem encephalitis in 27 children (75%), brainstem encephalitis associated with myelitis in 6 children (16.7%), and general encephalitis in 3 chidren (8.3%), respectively. In 12 patients of NPE (33.3%) pink or bloody bubble sputum and asymmetric pulmonary edema or hemorrhage was the primary manifestation but no typical exanthema was observed. Five children died of acute onset of NPE and / or pulmonary hemorrhage with rapid progression of cardiopulmonary failure within hours after admission. Therapeutic management consisted of mechanical ventilation and administration of mannitol, methylprednisolone, intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) and vasoactive drugs, associated with the need of fluid volume resuscitation in 9 (25%) of the 36 children. CONCLUSIONS:In children less than 3 years of age found to be affected by severe EV71 encephalitis associated with NPE, one fifth may die. The major organ systems infected by severe EV71 include the central nervous system, the respiratory system, and the cardiovascular system. Early diagnosis and evaluation, respiratory support, treatment of intracranial hypertension, and mainttenance of function of the cardiovascular system are the most important therapeutic measures.
