Objective To study the effect of shengmai injection on the cytotoxicity of lactate-buffered peritoneal dialysis solutes (L-PDS) to human peritoneal mesothelial cells (HPMC). [Objective]To find an effective method of surgical treatment of fibrous dysplasia of bone involving the femur associated with severe varus deformity.[Method]Thirteen patients with fibrous dysplasia of bone involving 14 femurs with severe varus deformity were reviewed from Feb 2002 and Jul 2005.Medial displacement of valgus or valgus osteotomies,curettage and allograft,reconstructional nail have been adolted to treat fibrous dysplasia of bone involving the femur with severe varus deformity.[Result]All patients were followed up from 8 months to 41 months with an average of 21 months.Forteen femoral mechanical alignments(axis)had been corrected completely rdiologically;the preoperative average neck-shaft angle of 75?(range,55?~100?),corrected to the average 120?(range,95 ?~135?)of postoperative,the average shortening of the femur was 3.4 cm(range,2.0~4.5 cm)preoperatively,then enlongthened by 2.8 cm(range,1.8~3.6 cm)in postoperation.Ninteen location of osteotomies showed good union in 14 femur.All bone grafts were absorbed slightly beginning at 3 months and markedly at 10 to 14 months postoperatively.Preoperation,4 patients walked with bilateral crutches,2 used unilateral cane,5 can't walk due to pathological fracture,2 without support;after operation,11 patients walk without support,2 ambulated with the aid of unilateracane.Eleven patients were painless,2 moderate pain.All had no infections and recurrent fracture and progression of the deformity.[Conclusion](1)This method can correct varus deformity,improve function,as well as restore biomechanical axis of femur.(2)It is able to effectively eradicate lesions and prevent recurrence.(3)Impaction allograft is the key of prompting allograft incorporating fully and preventing pathological fracture.

Objective To establish a method for determining VOCs in drinking water by headspace gas chromatography. Methods VOCs in the water were extracted by headspace technology, then analyzed with Rtx-WAX capillary column, in the same time, VOCs was determined with GC by controlling the temperature and the speed of nitrogen. The retention time of the peaks was used for qualitative analysis, external standard method was used for quantitative analysis. Results The linear ranges of dichloromethane, benzene, toluene, 1, 2-dichloroethane, ethylbenzene, p-xylene, m-xylene, o-xylene, isopropylbenzene, chlorobenzene, styrene were 6.2-311.2, 2.0-100.0, 1.6-81.5, 5.7-282.8, 1.9-93.4, 1.7～85.4, 1.7-87.2, 2.1-103.2, 1.5-76.3, 2.2-107.3 and 1.9-96.0 ?g/L respectively. The lowest determination limit were 0.5-5.9 ?g/L, the rate of recovery were 88.8%-109.6% and RSDs were 2.2%-5.9%. Conclusion This method is simple, rapid, sensitive and can efficiently separate and accurately determine 11 kinds of VOCs in drinking water.

MicroRNA(miRNA) is involved in virtually all biologic processes, including cellular proliferation, apoptosis, and differentiation. Thus, miRNA deregulation often results in impaired cellular function and disease development, so miRNAs have potential therapeutic relevance. The elucidation of these processes regulated by miRNAs and the identification of novel miRNA targets in the pathogenesis of hypertension is a highly valuable and exciting strategy that may eventually led to the development of novel treatment approaches for hypertension. Several mechanisms have been implicated in the pathogenesis of hypertension: overactivation of therenin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), dysfunction of the vascular endothelium, damnification of vascular smooth muscle. To maintain and restore target organ expression of miRNA stable may be a new strategy for treatment of hypertension. The article reviews pathogenesis of miRNA and hypertension, researches of miRNAs as biomarker and therapeutic target, discusses advances in miRNA-based approaches that may be important in treating hypertension.

Objective To investigate the effects and safety of the treatment of continuous veno-venous hemofiltration (CVVH)in refractoriness heart failure with renal insufficiency patients.Methods 35 hospitalized patients of refractori- ness heart failure with renal insufficiency were chosen from 2001 to 2006,25 patients were treated by CVVH,and other 10 patients were treated by regular hemodialysis.The serum BUN,Cr,left ventricle ejection fraction(LVEF),were observed before and after the therapy in each group.Results The clinical symptom were obviously improved in Group HF,and LVEF,cardiac output(CO) were both increased by continuous hemofiltration treatment(P

MicroRNAs (miRNA) plays an important role in biological development and disease occurrence and development, and acts as a "main switch" in biology. Among patients of essential hypertension, around 1/3 would suffer left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). Hence, essential hypertension becomes an independent risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. And miRNAs plays an important role in the occurrence and development of LVH. This paper reviewed the role of miRNA in regulating the stress signaling pathway, defined its impact on the occurrence of LVH, and further emphasized the opportunities and challenges of miRNA as a biomarker and therapeutic target.

Objective To further understand the cellular events of myocarditis,we have examined the myocardial mitochondria structure and activity of ATPase in mice with myocarditis,and observe the interventional effect of different doses of carptopril.Methods Sixty male Balb/c mice were randomly divided into 5 groups:infected coxsackie B3 virus(CVB3)group,infected CVB3 and treated with carptopril(in a dose of 10,30,or 100 mg/kg,twice a day)groups and control group.Captopril was administered after infection.The activity of Na+-K+-adenosine triphosphatase(Na+-K+-ATPase)and Ca2+-adenosine triphosphatase(Ca2+-ATPase)of myocardial mitochondrial as well as the morphological of myocardial mitochondrial were investigated on day 14.Results The activity of mitochondrial Na+-K+-ATPase and Ca2+-ATPase were significantly higher(Pa0.05).Conclusions The favorable effects of captopril exerts on myocyte mitochondria were shown in a dose-dependent manner.Thirty and 100 mg/kg,twice a day captopril protecs the membrane integrity and thus plays a role at the recovery of depressed mitochondrial Na+-K+-ATPase and Ca2+-ATPase activity and also in myocytes injury.

Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) in children is a rare condition,co-existing with vitamin D deficiency can lead to more diagnostic uncertainty.Here we report a case of a boy with PHPT complicated with vitamin D deficient rickets.The diagnosis and treatment of this patient was analyzed against literature review to summarize evidence-based clinical features of PHPT in children.We found that compared with adult PHPT,PHPT in children is associated with severer symptoms,higher serum calcium level,lower parathyroid hormone,preponderance of single adenoma in pathology,and higher cure rate of surgery.Co-existence of osteomalacia may induce reduction of the serum calcium level to the normal range,but cause more severe bone lesions.
