OBJECTIVE:To explore the effects of Compound Ligusticum chuanxiong drop pill on hemorheology and blood gas in model rats with diabetic nephropathy(DN). METHODS:60 rats were randomly divided into normal control group,model group, positive control group [Irbesartan tablet,0.013 g/(kg·d)] and Compound L. chuanxiong drop pill high-dose,medium-dose,low-dose groups [0.4,0.2,0.1 g/(kg·d)],10 in each group. Except for normal control group,rats in other groups were given high-sugar high-fat feed and intraperitoneally injected streptozotocin to reduce DN model. After 7 d modeling,rats in each group received relat-ed drugs intragastrically,once a day,10 mL/kg;normal control group and model group received equal volume of purified water in-tragastrically. After 64 d,hemorheology indicators [whole blood viscosity(high-shear,medium-shear and low-shear),plasma viscosi-ty,whole blood reduced viscosity] and blood gas indicators(carbon dioxide partial pressure,oxygen partial pressure,hemoglobin content,oxygen saturation,ratio of oxygenated hemoglobin to total protein) of rats were determined,hematoxylin-eosin staining was used to observe the pathological changes in kidney tissue. RESULTS:Compared with normal control group,hemorheology indi-cators and carbon dioxide partial pressure in model group were significantly increased(P<0.05 or P<0.01),oxygen partial pres-sure,hemoglobin content,oxygen saturation,ratio of oxygenated hemoglobin to total protein were significantly decreased(P<0.05 or P<0.01),with severe kidney damage. Compared with model group,except the improvement of carbon dioxide partial pressure, oxygen partial pressure,hemoglobin content in rats were not significant in Compound L. chuanxiong drop pill low-dose group,the above-mentioned indicators in other medicine groups were significantly improved(P<0.05 or P<0.01);the kidney tissue damage was improved to varying degree. CONCLUSIONS:Compound L. chuanxiong drop pill can significantly improve the hemorheology indicators of DN model rats,reduce blood viscosity,improve microcirculation and capacity of the blood to transport oxygen,and has certain improvement effect on kidney tissue morphology of DN rats.

In this study, we aim to investigate the protective effects of astragaloside on ultraviolet A (UVA)-induced photoaging in human fibroblasts and its possible mechanisms.

Objective To study mechanism and relationship of acute lung injury that be complicated with severe acute pancreatitis(SAP).To analyze the chest imaging feature of X-ray and CT of SAP and improve the recognition of clinical value of diagnosis and prognosis.Methods Thirtynine SAP patients(17 male,22 female)age ranged from 26 to 64 of SAP that be diagnosed by clinic and CT were analysed retrospectively.All cases were checked by chest X-ray film and rechecked at least three times,of them chest CT were taken in 11 cases.Results Ascites was found in 34 cases,pleural effusion was found in 19 cases.Pulmonary edema sign of X-ray and CT was found in 16(41%) cases when SAP was diagnosed by pancreas CT.The sign was found in 24(61.5%) cases in 24 hours and in 37(94.9%)cases in 48 hours and all cases in 72 hours.In the 16 early pulmonary edema cases,There were pleural effusion in 11 and pericardiac effusion in one case,10 cases of them developed to acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS)and 7 cases died.Conclusion The chest imaging feature of SAP has important significance for early diagnosis of ARDS and prognosis of SAP,and can be served as a clinical indication of severe degree of SAP.

Objective To investigate cell's viability and functions when human hepatocyte cell HepG2 and microcarriers were embedded in collagen gel and cultured in vitro.Methods Ultrasound concussion crushing method was used to get nanofiber microcarrier.HepG2 and microcarriers were embedded in collagen gel and cultured in 12 d.The albumin (ALB),urea and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels in the nutrient solution were measured.Results The cells in nanofiber nanofiber microcarrier/collagen gel group were gathered around the microcarrier and formatted aggregates,the ALB and urea levels increased steadily and reached maximum in day 9,then decreased; In collagen gel without nanofiber microcarrier group cells uniformly distributed,the ALB and urea levels reached maximum in day 3,then decreased rapidly,and on day 6 majority of cells dead.Conclusion Gel entrapped nanofiber microcarriers and hepatoeytes is a high-density and longtime culture method which can possibly be used in the bioartificial liver system.

Objective The national essential medicine select system is the core of Chinese medicine policy.How to select drugs fundamental for eyes scientifically is an important ring in establishing the Chinese essential drug system.The present study attempted to compare the National Essential Medicines List and National Essential Insurance List of China with that of the WHO in order to provide reasonable evidence for the adjustment of a new National Essential Medicines List of China. MethodsThe WHO Essential Medicine List (15th edition,Version in 2007),National Essential Medicine List (Version in 2009,China),2009 National Essential Medicine List Chemical Medicine Name (Version in 2009) and National Essential Insurance List of China (Version in 2004) were reviewed.The similarity and difference in the category and number of drugs in the National Essential Medicines List and National Essential Insurance List between China and WHO were compared and analyzed.A descriptive method was adopted to analyze the sorts and numbers of eye drugs in the lists mentioned above.The analysis of drug price was based on the summary sheet from Zhejiang Province. ResultsLittle difference was found in the numbers of eye drugs between the National Essential Medicines List of China and WHO Essential Medicines List.Differences in the sorts of eye drugs were observed in the lists,especially between the National Essential Medicines List of China and WHO Essential Medicines List.Except for levofloxacin,all of the drugs in the National Essential Medicine List of China were included in the National Essential Insurance List of China.ConclusionThe selecting principle and renewing procedure of the National Essential Medicines List and National Essential Insurance List of China should be further improved in China based on the list from WHO.More attention should be paid to the standard,dosage form,affordability,maneuverability etc.during the selecting procedure of eye essential drugs.

Objective To study the regulation of quorum sensing molecule tyrosol and farnesol on biofilm formation of Candida albicans. Methods Candida albicans biofilms of clinic isolates and standard strain SC5314 were built when quorum sensing molecule existed. And inverted microscope was used to observe the morphology of C. albicans cells. RT-PCR and MTT assay were carried out to investigate the effect of quorum sensing molecule on expression of the two genes (HTA1 and EFG1) and cytoactive. Results Tyrosol could not promote hyphae development and cytoactive of C. albicans biofilms. The expression of HTA1 of C. albicans in biofilms was up-regulated by tyrosol but EFG1 was not. The inhibitory effect of farnesol on hyphae development, cytoactive and gene expression were not changed by addition of tyrosol. Conclusion Tyrosol can make C. albicans biofilms active in early stage. But when tyrosol and farnesol were simultaneously added, the effect of tyrosol were masked by farnesol. And C. albicans cells were more sensitive to farnesol than to tyrosol.

Objective To investigate the effects of colon hydrotherapy on lowering body temperature and serum enzymes as well as inflammatory cytokines of dogs with heat stroke.Methods 14 dogs were randomly devided into 2 groups,7 for each,as colon hydrotherapy group and conventional therapy group.After the reproduction of heat stroke model was finished(core temperature reached 43℃,maintaing for 10min),cooling therapy was commenced on dogs in circumstance with temperature at 23℃ and 65% of humidity.Conventional therapy group was lowered temperature by ice bags placed on conducting arteries,and the colon hydrotherapy group was by colon way therapeutic machine,the temperature of therapeutic liquid was maintained between 37℃~38℃.Cooling was finished while temperature in dogs reduced to 38℃.The periods of time for lowering body temperature in both groups were compared.Alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)and creatine kinase(CK)were determined before heat stroke(0h),and 6h,24h and 48h after heat stroke.Interleukin-1?(IL-1?),Interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor ?(TNF-?)were determined by radioimmunity assay.Results Body temperature lowering time in dogs with colon hydrotherapy were 92.9?9.5min,which was significantly shorter than that of conventional therapy group(123.4?11.6min,P0.05).IL-1? in colon hydrotherapy group at 6h,24h and 48h after treatment were significantly lower than those in conventional therapy group(P

Objective To investigate the effect of Bax and Bcl-X_L expression in newborn rat with moderate hyperoxic exposure. Methods Hyperoxic lung injury model was established by exposure to 60% O_2 in the neonatal period of SD rats. Rats exposed to air were used as control groups, with 8 animals in each group on repeated experiments. The pathology of pulmonary tissues was detected by HE stain. Mean alveolar area and alveolar number per ?m~2 were applied to estimate the pathological effects of prolonged hyperoxia in neonatal rats. The expression of Bax and Bcl-X_L proteins in lung were detected by immunohistochemistry and the expressions of Bax and Bcl-X_L mRNA by RT-PCR. Results In hyperoxia groups, alveolar dysplasia appeared 4 days after hyperoxia, mean alveolar area increased and alveolar number per ?m~2 decreased from the 4th day. Bax and Bcl-X_L protein were mainly expressed on bronchiolar epithelial cells and vascular endothelial cells. Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of intravitreous injection with triamcinolone acetonide (TA) for cystoid macular edema (CME) due to central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO). Methods Fourteen eyes of 14 patients with CME due to CRVO underwent intravitreous injection with 0.1 ml TA (40 mg/ml). Best-corrected visual acuity, intraocular pressure (IOP), slitlamp examination, fundus fluorescein angiography, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) were performed on the patients before and after the injection. The follow-up period was 10-22.4 months, with the mean of 15.9 months. Results The average visual acuity was 0.1 before the treatment; while 1 month and 3 months after the injection, the visual acuity of all of the patients improved, including ≥0.2 in 71.43% and 63.6% of the patients, respectively, and ≥0.5 in 42.9% and 27.3%, respectively. After then, the visual acuity of some patients decreased, and in the final visit, 4 eyes (28.6%) had a visual acuity of ≥0.2, and 1 eye (7.1%) of ≥0.5. Compared with that before the treatment, the visual acuity of 10 (71.4%) eyes improved and 4 (28.6%) eyes declined. One month after the treatment, the macular edema disappeared in 10 eyes (71.4%) and alleviated in 4 (28.6%). In the final visit, macular edema disappeared in 4 eyes, alleviated in 9, and aggravated in 1. In the follow-up duration, high IOP [22.3-40.1 mm Hg (1 mm Hg=0.133 kPa)]. In the final visit, posterior subcapsular cataract was found in 7 eyes. Conclusion Intravitreous injection with TA may be effective in reducing CME and enhancing the visual acuity in a short term with high IOP in some eyes. In the long-term follow-up period, the rate of recurrence of CME and incidence of posterior subcapsular cataract is high.
