Objective To investigate the effect of fast-aging on the excitability of hippocampus CA1 neurons in mouse and the possible interaction between fast-aging and hippocampus. Methods Using brain slice and extracellular recording technique to record the firing of hippocampus CA1 neurons in fast-aging(SA M-P/8) and normal control mice, after preprocessing, neural firing train were obtained. Using neural firing rate and inter-spike-inter to investigate interaction between fast-aging and hippocampal neural firing. Results The neural firing rate of hippocampus CA1 neurons in fast-aging mice is (1.052±0.364) Hz(n=14), while the neural firing ratein normal control mice is (4.416±1.306) Hz(n=22). In fast-aging mice, 80.5% inter spike intervel(ISI) is longerthan 1sec, but in normal control mice, 95.6% ISI is shorter than 0.5sec. Conclusion The decreased firing rate of hippocampus CA1 and longer ISI observed in the fast-aging mice indicates that fast-aging significantly inhibit hippocampal CA1 neurons excitability.

Objective This study assessed whether the best overall response rate(ORR) of cetuximab combined with oxaliplatin,leucovorin and fluorouracil/Xeloda was superior to that of this method alone as first-line treatment for metastatic colorectal cancer.The influence of KRAS mutation status was investigated.Methods Patients received cetuximab(400mg/m2 initial dose followed by 250mg/m2,wk thereafter)less than 2 times plus chemotherapy(oxaliplatin 130mg/m2 on day 1,plus leucovorin 200mg/m2 and fluorouracil as a 400mg/m2 bolus followed by a 600mg/m2 infusion during 22 hours on days 1 and 2) or chemotherapy alone.Treatment was continued until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity.KRAS mutation status was assessed in the subset of patients with assessable tumor samples.Results The confirmed ORR for cetuximab plus oxaliplatin,leucovorin and fluorouracil/Xeloda was higher than that with alone(42.86% vs 21.74%).A statistically significant increase in the odds for a response with the addition of cetuximab to oxaliplatin,leucovorin and fluorouracil/Xeloda could be established.In patients with KRAS wild-type tumors,the addition of cetuximab to oxaliplatin,leucovorin and fluorouracil/Xeloda was associated with a clinically significant increased chance of response(ORR 54.55% vs 21.74%) and a lower risk as compared with chemothrapy alone.Cetuximab plus oxaliplatin,leucovorin and fluorouracil/Xeloda was generally well tolerated.Conclusion The clinical effcacy of chemothrapy(oxaliplatin,leucovorin and fluorouracil/Xeloda) plus cetuximab is better than only chemothrapy.KRAS mutational status was shown to be a highly predictive selection criterion in the treatment decision regarding the addition of cetuximab to oxaliplatin,leucovorin and fluorouracil/Xeloda for previously untreated patients with metastatic colorectal cancer.

Objective To introduce a new surgical method of reconstructing A ch illes tendon by transfer of the soleus tendon flap. Methods The method was desig ned on the basis of the anatomical characteristics of the superficial muscles as sociated with Achilles tendon. It was applied to treat 12 patients with Achilles tendon defects. These patients were followed up for 0.5 to 6 years (average 39 months). Results The curative effect of the method were assessed according to Ar ner-Lindholms evaluation criteria. 9 cases were rated as excellent, 2 fine an d 1 poor, with the total excellent and fine rate being 92%. Conclusions ①Misdi agnosis and improper initial treatment are the major causes of Achilles tendon d efects. ②Systematic training after operation is very important for good curativ e effects. ③The method mentioned above brings about less trauma, less negative effects on blood supply to Achilles tendon, and good healing after operation.

Objective To summarize the data of cosmetics dermatosis happened in Bering in 2006 and to analyze their characteristics of this side effect.Methors The outpatients in the Department of Dermatology.Air Force General Hospital from Jun.2006 to Dec.2006 were investigated and screened out the cosmetic dermatosis according to GB17149.1～7-1997,the patients'age,gender,job and the demographic data and the suspected cosmetics were recorded and analyzed,and the routine patch tests using the involved cosmetic products were carried out in each patient.Results 327 cases of cosmetic dermatosis were reported.Among all cases.98.47% of the patients were female,and most of them aged between 21 and 40 years old:The suspected cosmetics included 47 brands with 618 imposed products,43 brands with 293 domestic and the joint venture products,and 14 illegal products;Clinically,318 cases(97.24%)of the lesion were diagnosed as cosmetic contact dermatitis.7 acne and 2 skin discoloration.Conclusion Cosmetic contact dermatitis is the most common cosmetic dermatosis,and the young and middle-aged females with middle or high education are the most susceptible people to cosmetic dermatosis.

Objective To provide reference of the general physiological index, blood physiology and biochemistry for middle and old-aged cynomolgus monkey.Methods 119 cynomolgus monkey aged from 11~16 (80 were males and 39 were females) were involved in the study.We detected the general physiological index( body weight, the crown-rump length and waist circumference ) , hematology and blood biochemistry parameters respectively and compared these parameters between males and females.Results Between males and females, there were significant differences in Body weight, the crown-rump length and Waist circumference of the general physiological index(P <0.01),NEUT#、LYMPH#、EO#、BASO#、NEUT%、LYMPH%、EO%、BASO%、MCV、MCH、RDW-CV、PCT、MONO%、HGB、HCT、MCHC、RDW-SD、MPV of hematology(P <0.01 or P <0.05)and TBIL、ALB、GLO、A/G、ALP、GLU、UREA、CREA、TCH、TG、CK、ALT、GGT of blood biochemistry ( P <0.01 or P <0.05 ) .There were no significant differences in other parameters ( P >0.05).Conclusion It provides reference of general physiological index, blood physiology and biochemistry parameters of cynomolgus monkey and basis for their application in biomedical domain.

Objective To investigate the value of measurement of cardiac output in children by bio-reactance versus echocardiography.Methods Pediatric patients admitted in pediatric department of Peking University First Hospital from September to December 2012 who needed hemodynamic monitoring were enrolled prospectively.Cardiac index(CI)and stroke volume(SV)were measured by echocardiography and non-invasive cardiac output measurement(NICOM)and compared by Spearman correlation and Bland-Alt-man analysis.Results Thirty patients were included.The median age was 7.25 years.CI[M(P5 ,P95 )] measured by NICOM and echocardiography were correlated significantly[3.42(2.28,4.92)L /(min?m2 ) vs.3.51 (2.94,4.85 )L/(min?m2 ),R =0.385,P =0.035 ].Bland-Altman analysis revealed a bias of-0.22 L/(min?m2 )(P =0.051 ),limits of agreement of -1.40 to 0.95 L/(min?m2 ).SV[M(P5 ,P95 )] measured by NICOM and echocardiography were correlated more significantly [36.3 (12.6,87.8 )ml vs.39.4(14.7,86.9)ml,R =0.768,P ﹤0.001 ].Bland-Altman analysis revealed a bias of -3.1 ml(P =0.176),limits of agreement of -27.4 to 21.2 ml.Conclusion There is no significant difference between NICOM and echocardiography for the measurement of CI and SV in pediatric patients.Further validation studies need to be conducted before routine clinical use.

Objective To analyze factors affecting quality of life (QOL)in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB),and provide reference for improving QOL of patients. Methods The MOS 36-item short form health sur-vey (SF-36)was adopted to survey QOL of patients with CHB,Morisky medication adherence scale was used to measure patients'adherence to medication,factors affecting QOL of patients with CHB were analyzed. Results Of 357 CHB patients,271(75.91% )were married,107(29.97% )received college or above education,163(45.66% ) patients'average household monthly income were ￥ 2000-￥ 5000,138(38.66% )patients'family members were also with CHB,198 (55.46% )patients smoked,150 (42.02% )drank. The average score of CHB patients' adherence to medication was (2.15±1.29). Factors affecting QOL in patients with CHB were age,education level, duration of disease,whether or not hospitalized,whether or not drink,as well as adherence to medication. Age, drink,and duration of hepatitis B,and previous hospitalization were negative factors affecting QOL in patients with CHB,education level and adherence to medication were positive factors affecting QOL in patients with CHB. Conclusion Strengthening CHB patients'understanding on disease and improving their medication adherence can help them to improve QOL.

Objective To study the effects of olanzapine on glucolipid metabolism,liver function and prolactin level in childhood onset schizophrenia(COS) to provide reference for clinical medication.Methods Thirty-eight patients with COS aged 13-17 years old were treated with olanzapine for at least two weeks.The changes of body mass,alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase (AST),total cholesterol (TC),triglyceride (TG),glucose (GLU) and prolactin (PRL) were detected and compared between before and after treatment.Results The body mass after medication in children patients was significantly increased,average increase by (3.50-t-1.90)kg (P＜0.01).The levels of ALT,AST,TC,TG and PRL after treatment were higher than before treatment (P＜0.05).However,there was no statistically significant difference in blood GLU level between before and after treatment(P=0.598).The body mass change before and after treatment was positively correlated with ALT and AST levels(r=0.366,0.377,P＜0.05);whereas the PRL level before and after treatment was negatively correlated with the body mass change (r=-0.432,P＜0.01).Conclusion Olanzapine can lead to the body weight gain and increase of ALT,AST,TC,TG and PRL levels in COS patients.

Objective Toinvestigatetheentropyoflocalfieldpotentials(LFPs)recordedinratmedialprefrontal cortex during a Y-maze working memory (WM) task, to provide computing support for neural coding mechanism.Methods Sixteen-channel LFPs were recorded from SD rats while they performed a Y-maze WM task.The data came from 4 rats, 20 trials (10 correct trials and 10 incorrect trials) per rat provided by laboratory of neurobiology in medicine,Tianjin Medical University.Original LFPs were preprocessed to remove 50 Hz power line noise and baseline drift.Multi-taper Fourier transform was applied to calculate spatial distributions of LFPs and band pass filter were used to extract characteristic signal.The entroy coding of 16 channel LFPs was as follows: the physiological window was set to be 500 ms, the step length of physiological window was set to be 125 ms, windows were added to LFPs data, and then LFPs entropy of each sliding window was computed and averaged to get the trend of multichannel entropy values duringthe WM task.Results The power of θ band (4-12 Hz) in LFPs increased.The averaged entropy value ofmultichannel θ band LFPs in correct trials was 0.939±-0.020, which were larger than those in the resting state, 0.795±0.031 (P＜0.05).Those during wrong WM task had no significant difference, which didn't encode the WM task.Conclusions The principal frequency band related to WM is the θ band and LFPs entropy encodes the WM effectively.
