This study is to investigate the effects of ceramide on GSTA1 expression in Caco-2 cells. After being exposed to ceramide for a fixed time, GSTA1 protein expression was detected by Western blotting analysis; GSTA1 mRNA expression was detected by real time PCR; dual luciferase assay was used to analyze GSTA1 transcriptional activity and GSTA1 activity was determined toward androstanedione (AD) as substrate. The data showed that ceramide can significantly induce the expression of protein and GSTA1 mRNA, and increase transcriptional activity and enzyme activity of GSTA1. The results demonstrated that ceramide may increase resistance to chemotherapeutics in Caco-2 cells by up-regulating the expression of GSTA1.

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture with medication for post-stroke depression. Methods:A total of 96 patients with post-stroke depression were randomized into an observation group and a control group, with 48 cases in each group. The control group was treated with oral fluoxetine hydrochloride capsules, and the observation group was treated with acupuncture on the basis of the treatment of the control group. After 6 months of treatment, the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptom scores, and Hamilton depression scale (HAMD) component scores and total scores of the two groups before and after treatment were observed, and the clinical efficacy and adverse reaction rate were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 95.8% in the observation group and 83.3% in the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05).After treatment, the intra-group differences in TCM symptom scores and HAMD score of both groups were statistically significant (all P<0.01).In the observation group, the scores of indifferent expression, emotional restlessness, and sentimentality in the TCM symptoms were statistically different from those in the control group (all P<0.01).The scores of desperate factor and sleep disorder factor and total score in HAMD in the observation group were significantly different from those in the control group (all P<0.01).The incidence of adverse reactions was 6.3% in the observation group and 4.2% in the control group, and the difference was not significant between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture plus medication is an effective method for post-stroke depression, and it can further improve the patient's bad mood.

Baculoviral IAP(inhibitor of apoptosis protein) gene was identified firstly in IAP gene family. The structurcal feature of baculoviral IAP genes are characterized BIR and RING domain;Despite similar to P35 in antiapoptotic function, baculovrial IAP and P35 differ in structure and mechnism of action.Phylogenetic analysis of IAP genes and lots of evidence sppport the origin of this viral gene by capture of a host gene early in the evolution of Lepidoptera.

ObjectiveTo investigate the clinicopathologic characteristics of different nation nonHodgkin lymphoma (NHL)in Urumqi of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.MethodsFour hundred and sixty-six cases of NHL were collected.Their sections including HE and immunohistochemical staining were examined again for diagnosis and classification.ResultsAmong 466 cases NHL,B cell neoplasm was 369cases (79.2 %) and T cell lymphoma was 97 cases (20.8 %).193 cases (41.4 %) occured in the lymph node and 273 cases (58.6 %) extranodal lymphoma. The most common subtypes were diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, small lymphocytic lymphoma/chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosaassociated lymphoid tissue,NK/T cell lymphoma, peripheral T-cell lymphoma, follicular lymphoma.Tlymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL) and anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) in the Uygur were higher than the Han [7.5 % (9/120) vs 1.3 % (4/308),x2 =11.276,P=0.001; 4.2 % (5/120) vs 2.3 % (7/308),x2 =1.137,P =0.286],and T/NK cell lymphoma in the Han was higher than the Uygur [7.1 (22/308) vs 3.3 % (4/120),x2 =2.196,P =0.138].There was no statistically significance between the Uygur and Han in different subtypes of B-NHL (P >0.05).ConclusionIn Urumqi aera, the incidence is higher in extranodal lymphoma than that in nodal.B-NHL is more in Urumqi area than that in other area in our country. There is no difference obviously for mobility B-NHL in the Uygur and Han,but T-LBL and ALCL in the Uygur are higher than those in the Han,and T/NK cell lymphoma in the Han is higher than that in the Uygur. It is suggested to confirm further whether the different associated with different nation and region.

Methods By using content analysis approach, the basic situation of achievements, the research content of achievements, and assessment and application of achievements were classified and statistically analyzed by classifying and statistical function of computer. Results The provinces that rank the top of national scientific and technological achievements of the three species of Chinese herbal were Gansu, Hebei and Shandong. The achievements were mainly undertaken by college or university, hospital and scientific research institutions. The source of project achievements mainly originated from local project and optional project. The research content of the achievements largely focused on the fields like drug therapeutic effect, pharmaceutical preparation, cultivation techniques, storing and processing. Conclusion In the database (HowNet) of national scientific and technological achievements, the amplification of national scientific and technological achievements of the three species of Chinese herbal is slow, the achievements mainly focus on application technology, the conversion rate of achievements is low, and large amount of data of achievement items in database is missing.

Objective To explore prognostic factors of renal cell carcinoma and investigate the association of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) with the prognosis of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) in patients who received nephrectomy treatment. Methods We retrospectively reviewed the records of 1325 patients with renal cell carcinoma who underwent nephrectomy between January,2008 and December,2012.We retrospectively analyzed the clinicopathologic characteristics of patients. The optimal cutoff value for NLR was determined using receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) analysis. We defined them as high NLR group when NLR ≥ 2.7 and low NLR group when NLR < 2.7.Overall survival (OS) and recurrence free survival (RFS) were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared using the logrank test.Multivariate models were used to analyze the association of NLR with clinicopathologic outcomes. Results By the end of the study, 1220 cases were followed up.The follow-up rate was 92.1%.Mean follow-up was 40 months (range 2 months to 87 months). The three-year and five-year overall survival rate were 91.3% and 86.9%, respectively.Meanwhile the three-year and five-year recurrence free survival rate were 88.2% and 85.8% ,respectively.2.7 was selected as the optimal cutoff value to differentiate between low NLR and high NLR.A NLR ≥2.7 was significantly associated with worse 5-year overall survival and worse 5-year recurrence free survival than a NLR <2.7,91.4% vs 87.3% ,89.6% vs 71.9% (P <0.05).Age >65, presentation mode with symptom, higher tumor stage, higher Fuhrman grade, histologic subtype, neutrophil count ≥ 4.5, lymphocyte count < 1.7, NLR ≥ 2.7 significantly correlated with poor OS on univariate analysis.Multivariate analysis revealed that higher tumor stage, preoperative NLR ≥ 2.7 at diagnosis were poor independent prognostic factors for OS of renal cell carcinoma. Conclusion High NLR was independent poor predictor of renal cell carcinoma.
