Objective To study the innervation between baldder and rectum.Methods The retrograde fluorescent double labeling method was used.Propidium Iodide(PI)was injected into the right wall of the rectum of male SD rats and Bisbenzimide(Bb)into their right wall of urinary bladder.Results The fluorescent double labeled neurons were found in the right L6-S3 and L1-L3 dorsal root ganglia(DRG).Conclusion DRG cells at L6-S3 and L1-L3 simultaneously innervate the rectum and the urinary bladder,explaining that the abnormal micturition due to chronic constipation may be caused by axis reflex at the level of the peripheral process of DRG cells.

Objective To explore the correlative factors and management of secondary high intraocular pressure(IOP) after vitreoretinal surgery for proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR). Methods The data of 51 patients(54 eyes) with PDR after vitreoretinal surgery were collected.The incidence of secondary high IOP was obtained,and the correlative factors leading to high IOP were analysed.Besides,the therapeutic effects of management were observed. Objective To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of early enteral nutrition (EEN) in elder patients undergoing gastrectomy for gastric carcinoma. Methods An outcome-based retrospective review of 52 patients who had undergone gastrectomy for gastric carcinoma between July 1999 and June 2002 was performed .There were 27 patients in the EEN group, and 25 in the TPN group. OBJECTIVETo investigate effects of the variation of immune function in high humidity environment in different time, and lay a foundation for further study of the related mechanism.

METHODThirty SD rats were divided into 3 groups (n = 10): 20 day group, 40 day group in 90% relative humidity chamber and control group in normal relative humidity. Peripheral blood and spleens were collected to detect the levels of T lymphocyte subsets by Flow Cytometery.

RESULTSIn peripheral blood of the 20 day group rats, the CD3+ %, CD4+ %, CD8+ % and CD4+/CD8+ were 52.91 +/- 6.27, 37.80 +/- 4.11, 14.85 +/- 3.73 and 2.72 +/- 0.82 separately. Expect CD3+ %, they all had significant differences (P < 0.05). In addition, the data of the 40 day group rats showed no diversity in statistics. In spleen, CD8+ % of the 20 day group rats was 6.23 +/- 2.87 with significant differences (P < 0.05) and IgG, IgA and IgM did not change a lot in blood serum of the high humidity groups except C3 of the 20 days group (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONIn high humidity environment, the immune function of the rats increased in the initial stage. As time went on, the immune function gradually went to normal level through the self adjustment.

Objective To sum up our experience in the diagnosis and management of acute superior mesenteric venous thrombosis (SMVT). Methods We retrospectively reviewed 41 patients treated for acute SMVT admitted in our hospital from Jan 1978 to Aug 2003. Before 1995 (group Ⅰ), a surgery was preformed in patients with suspected acute SMVT. Since Jan 1995 (Group Ⅱ), aggressive medical therapy was immediately delivered, and the patients were subjected to laparatomy with suspected peritonity. Results There were 13 cases in group Ⅰ, and 28 in group Ⅱ. Mortality in group Ⅰ was 38.5%, and that in group Ⅱ was 10.7% (P

To develop a new small molecular probe for discovering an antitumor lead compound from the replacement of carboxylic group of two molecular antibacterial fluoroquinolones with a heterocyclic ring, a series of the C3/C3 bis-fluoroquinolones tethered with an 1, 3, 4-oxadiazole ring were synthesized as their respective HCl salts, and their structures were characterized by elemental analysis and spectral data. The in vitro antitumor activity against L1210, CHO and HL60 cell lines was also evaluated via the respective IC50 values by methylthiazole trazolium (MTT) assay.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the relationship between vasoactive factors and plaque morphology in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS).

METHODSIntravascular ultrasound (IVUS) were performed and 7 serum vasoactive factors (sPE, tPA, MCP-1, IL-8, IL-6, sVCAM-1 and sCD40L) were measured through cytometric bead array, serum hs-CRP, HCY, glucose and lipid level were also determined in consecutively enrolled 56 patients with ACS. The changes of bio-factors were compared between vulnerable plaque and non-vulnerable plaque groups, AMI and UA patients, and patients with or without plaque rupture.

RESULTSBiomarkers were similar between patients with unstable angina pectoris and AMI. hs-CRP [(18.9 +/- 4.9) mg/l vs. (5.8 +/- 3.6) mg/L)] and IL-6 [19.5 pg/ml (9.2 - 44.6 pg/ml) vs. 5.3 pg/ml (2.3 - 13.4 pg/ml)] were significantly higher in the group of vulnerable plaque (P < 0.05) compared to non-vulnerable plaques group. sCD40L [(474 +/- 126) pg/ml vs. (238 +/- 35) pg/ml], sPE [(107.2 +/- 39.9) microg/ml vs. (49.1 +/- 5.6) microg/ml] and MCP-1 [(132 +/- 18) pg/ml vs. (127 +/- 13) pg/ml] were significantly increased in the plaque rupture group than that in non-plaque rupture group (all P < 0.05). Increasing of sCD40L, MCP-1, sPE and TC were independent risk factors for plaque rupture.

CONCLUSIONSIL-6 and hs-CRP are biomarkers for vulnerable plaques and diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction. sCD40L, MCP-1 and sPE may serve as the potential markers predicting plaque rupture in patients with ACS.

Wuzhuyu Tang is a classical formula for treating migraine, but its' pharmacological ingredients is unclear yet. Present study employed the everted intestinal sac model to collect the absorption samples of 10 kinds of Wuzhuyu decoction, and then analyzed the contents of 9 ingredients in Wuzhuyu Tang and absorption samples quantitatively or semi-quantitatively by HPLC-DAD method. Reserpine was used to establish the mice model of migraine, and then the contents and activities of 5-hydroxytryptamine, noradrenaline, dopamine, nitric oxide and nitricoxide synthase in brain tissues and serums were determined respectively after oral administration of Wuzhuyu Tang. Using the partial least squares regression method to correlate the total absorption quantity of 9 ingredients and pharmacodynamics. The result shows that limocitrin-3-O-beta-D-glucoside, ginsenoside Rg1 and Rb1, rutaevine, limonin, evodiamine and rutaecarpine are the main ingredients influenced the effects in absorption samples in everted intestinal sacs, especially ginsenoside Rg1, rutaevine, evodiamine and rutaecarpine among them have obvious improving effects to most pharmacodynamics index, might be the pharmacological ingredients influenced the therapeutical effects of Wuzhuyu Tang treating migraine.
