In this study, efforts were made to collect 88 traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) prescriptions for treating ADHD from public literatures, establish a medication database and conduct data mining on the efficacy, properties, tastes, meridian entries and compatibility regularity of TCMs by using frequency analysis, association rules analysis and cluster analysis. The results showed 33 herbs with a high frequency (≥ 10%). The top 12 frequently applied ADHD herbs were respectively Acori Tatarinowii Rhizome, Polygalae Radix, Prepared Rehmanniae Radix, Os Draconis, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizome, Poria, Concha Ostreae, Testudinis Carapacis et Plastri, Paeoniae Alba Radix, Schisandrae Fructus Chinensis, Fructus Corni, Dioscoreae Rhizoma. The top seven types of frequently applied ADHD herbs by effect were respectively tonic herb, sedative herbs, livei-wind calming herbs, heat clearing herbs, astringent herbs, awaking herbs and damp clearing and diuresis promoting herbs. The top three properties were warm, cold and neutral, with warm as the dominance. The top three tastes were sweetness, bitterness and acridity, with sweetness as the dominance. The top three meridian entries were liver meridian, heart meridian and kidney meridian. The association rules analysis showed commonly used herbal pairs. Polygalae Radix-Acori Tatarinowii Rhizome, Concha Ostreae-Os Draconis, Prepared Rehmanniae Radix-Fructus Corni-Os Draconis. Eight highly frequent cluster prescriptions were summarized based on the cluster analysis. This study indicates that basic TCM prescriptions for treating ADHD were principally composed of tonics (nourishing liver and kidney, invigorating heart and spleen) and tranquilization, which were supplemented with herbs for calming liver, clearing heat, promoting qi-circulation, promoting blood-circulation, reducing phlegm and calming endogenous wind. The combination of multiple data mining techniques can reflect the clinical medication regularity of herbs for treating ADHD in an overall and objective manner.

objective To study the reationship beween drug-resistance gene mutation and drug-resistance level in M. tuberculosis. Methods 108 M. tuberculosis clinical isolated strains from sputum specimens were analyzed by PCR-SSCP and traditional drug susceptibility tests. Results the gene mutation rate of SM, RFP, INH and EMBresistance climical isolated strains was 78.5%, 68.2%, 70.5% and 48.6% respectively, and the mutation rate of SM, RFP, INH and EMB high concentration resistance isolated strains was 86.5% , 89% , 84% and 48.6% respectively, but 28.5 % , 16.6% and 7.1% was the mutation rate of low concentration resistance strains. Conclusion The gene mutation was in relation with drug resistance level of M. tube rculosis. The gene mutation rate was hiher in high concentration resistance isolated strains than in low concentration resistane isolated strains.

Objective To investigate the relationship between absent or hypoplastic fetal nasal bone and chromosome abnormalities. Methods From January 2010 to April 2014,187 fetuses were found to have absent or hypoplastic nasal bone by prenatal ultrasound scanning in Guangzhou Maternal and Children's Hospital. All the pregnant women should undergo interventional prenatal diagnosis for fetal chromosome abnormalities, and should be followed up for three months after the expected delivery date. The correlation between absent or hypoplastic fetal nasal bone and chromosome abnormalities, and the effects of complicating structural defects were analyzed by descriptive analysis and the Chi-square test. Results Of the 187 pregnant women,126 underwent interventional prenatal diagnostic tests, and fetal chromosome abnormalities were detected in 36 cases (28.6%),including 26 cases (20.6%) of trisomy 21,6 cases (4.8%) of trisomy 18,three cases (2.4%) of trisomy 13 and one sex chromosome chimerism. In the 126 cases received prenatal diagnosis, the incidence of chromosome abnormalities in fetuses without other structural defects was significantly lower than that with structural defects [12.7% (8/63) vs 44.4% (28/63),x2=15.556,P=0.000].Among 63 cases without other structural defects, seven fetuses were confirmed to have chromosome abnormalities in 14 women with high risk by Down syndrome screening,no chromosome abnormalities were found in 39 pregnant women with low risk by Down syndrome screening, and one sex chromosome chimerism was found in the other ten women who did not undergo Down syndrome screening.Absent or hypoplastic nasal bone detected in the first trimester resulted in a higher risk of chromosome abnormalities than that detected in the second and the third trimester [25.5% (28/110) vs 10.4% (8/77),x2=6.613,P=0.007].Conclusions When a fetus is found to have absent or hypoplastic nasal bone,it is necessary to perform Down syndrome screening and a detailed morphology scan.Women shown to have fetuses with absent or hypoplastic nasal bone with other structural defects or high risk by Down syndrome screening should undergo prenatal diagnostic tests to exclude fetal chromosome abnormalities.

Objective To describe a new kind of Y-shaped metallic stent delivery system and evaluate its feasibility and preliminary effect for managing multiple airway stenoses involving the lower trachea and the tracheal carina. Methods The Y-shaped metallic stent delivery system consisted of three- tier structure. The inner-tier was composed of four parallel guiding tubes, which was used for two guidewires and two threads passing through, the middle-tier was delivery catheter, which contained the four guiding tubes, and the outer-tier was introducer sheath.Under the fluoroscopic guidance,15 patients with multiple stenoses involving the lower trachea and the tracheal carina were treated with the new covered self-expandable Y-shaped metallic stents. Results Stent placement in the tracheo-bronchial tree was technically successful in all patients with obliteration of the dyspnea immediately after stent placement, and SaO_2 was increased form preoperative 75%—89% to postoperative 96%—99%.During follow-up a period of 3—58 weeks (M 22 weeks),all stenosis were resolved without stent-related complications, and the general physical of all 15 patents was improved with no occurrence of obviously dyspnea and bleeding.Karnofsky performance status(KPS)was improved from preoperative 26%—45% to postoperative 72%—95%.Five patients died of the following causes unrelated to stent insertion:multiple organ failure(n=3),cachexia(n=1)and pulmonary infection caused by gastrobronchial fistula(n=1),and the remaining 10 patients were alive with no evidence.of dyspnea at the time of this report. Conclusion Deployment of the covered Y-shaped metallic stent with the use of Y metallic stent delivery system in the management of airway stenoses involving the lower trachea and the tracheal earina was a simple and safe procedure and with a good short-term clinical efficacy.

Nerve growth factor is one of the most important factors playing an important role in regulating the growth, development and survival of the neuron. The purified NGF from human placenta has been reported, the tissue from which can be isolated the NGF is very limited. It is important for basic research and clinic application to expression hNGF by genetic engineering. By polymerase chain reaction, gene fragment encoding the mature part of ?-NGF was amplified using the DNA of human placenta as template. The fragment was sequenced and inserted into expression vector pET-15b, and the recombinant expression vector pET15b-NGF was transformed into E.coli BL21(DE3)pLysS. After inducing with IPTG the NGF was higher expressed up to 25% of the total cell proteins. The expression product was purified with metal chelate affinity chromatography on Ni-IDA agarose under denaturing condition. The purity of rNGF was higher than 90% and yield of rNGF was 4.56mg/L expressing bacteria. SDS-PAGE revealed the NGF expression product had a Mr 16kDa. Western-blot displayed the recombinant product had strong immunological activity with rabbit anti-human ?-NGF polyclonic antibodies. The expression products were dealed with solubilizing inclusion bodies and refolding protein. The test of nerve fiber growth of chicken embryo DRG neurons displayed rNGF had biological activity.
