OBJECTIVE To investigate the distribution and antibiotic resistance of isolates from hospitalized patients with hematological disease in 2005-2007.METHODS A total of 431 bacterial strains were isolated from patients with hematological disease from Jan 2005 to Dec 2007.Antimicrobial susceptibility testing was taken by micro-dilution method.RESULTS Among the 364 bacterial strains,170(39.5.7%)were Gram-positive organisms and 194(45.0%) were Gram-negatives.Among the 170 Gram-positive strains,41.2% were enterococci and 6.3% were E.faecium strains.meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) and meticillin-resistant coagulase negative staphylococcus(MRCNS) accounted for 71.4% and 35.8%.No vancomycin resistant Staphylococcus spp and Enterococcus spp were found. The top 5 Gram-negtive species were Escherichia coli,Klebsiella pneumoniae,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Stenotrophomonas maltophilia and Acinetobacter baumannii.Detection rates of ESBLs in E.coli and K.pneumoniae were 17.5% and 9.1%.Two pan-resistant P.aeruginosa strains were found in 2007.CONCLUSIONS Our data are important and valuable for the rational antimicrobial therapy of infections in patients with hematolagical disease.

Objective To assess the left ventricular longitudinal shrinkage function in liver cirrhosis patients with two-dimensional speckle tracking imaging (2D-STI). Methods Echocardiography and Doppler echocardiography were performed in 34 patients with liver cirrhosis and 35 healthy subjects of corresponding ages. High frame rate two-dimensional images were recorded from apical long-axis view, four-chamber view and two-chamber view of left ventricle; then the left ventricular diameter, left atrium diameter, the peak filling velocity of E wave and A wave, E/A ratio, EF and FS were measured. The peak systolic strain of left ventricular segment was measured with two-dimensional strain software. Results Compared with healthy subjects, left ventricular diameter, left atrium diameter, EF and FS of liver cirrhosis patients were not statistically different (P>0.05), but the E/A ratio was lower (P<0.05). The peak systolic strain of most left ventricular segment in liver cirrhosis reduced significantly (P<0.05), except that of base segment of posterior wall, anterior wall, inferior wall, anterior and posterior interventricular septum, as well as middle segment of posterior interventricular septum. Conclusion The heart shape, systolic and diastole function of liver cirrhosis are abnormal. 2D-STI can early and accurately evaluate the systolic function of liver cirrhosis.

Objective To study the clinical characteristics of the patients of GH-secreting pituitary adenoma with hyperprolactinaemia. Methods The clinical data of 124 cases of GH-secreting pituitary adenoma with hyperprolactinaemia treated in Peking Union Medical College Hospital from 1984 to 2004, including 87 cases followed up for over one year , were analyzed retrospectively. Results Of 124 patients, there are 88 females and 36 males and the course of disease in males (8.0?7.3) years was longer than that in females (5.5?4.3)years (P

OBJECTIVETo investigate the theoretical model of the three-dimensional structure of mosquitocidal Cry30Ca2 and its molecular docking with N-acetylgalactosamine.
METHODSThe theoretical model of Cry30Ca2 was predicted by homology modeling on the structure of the Cry4Ba. Docking studies were performed to investigate the interaction of Cry30Ca2 with N-acetylgalactosamine on the putative receptor.
RESULTSCry30Ca2 toxin is a rather compact molecule composed of three distinct domains and has approximate overall dimensions of 95 by 75 by 60Å. Domain II is a helix bundle, Domain II consists of three antiparallel β-sheets, Domain III is composed of two β-sheets that adopt a β-sandwich fold. Residue 321Ile in loop1, residues 342Gln 343Thr and 345Gln in loop2, residue 393Tyr in loop3 of Cry30Ca2 are responsible for the interactions with GalNAc via 7 hydrogen bonds, 6 of them were related to the oxygen atoms of hydroxyls of the ligand, and one to the nitrogen of the ligand.
CONCLUSIONThe 3D structure of Cry30Ca2 resembles the previously reported Cry toxin structures but shows still some distinctions. Several residues in the loops of the apex of domain II are responsible for the interactions with N-acetylgalactosamine.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and herbal plaster for the patients with anal abscess. Methods A total of 140 patients with anal abscess were randomly divided into 2 groups, 70 in each group. The control group were treated with different operation methods according to the patient's health condition. the Potassium Permanganate solution (1:5 000) bath was used after surgery in the conventional anti anti-infection treatment; and the observation group were treated with herbal fumigation and plaster on the basis of the control group. The wound was treated in the both groups in the following 3 months after operation. The wound swelling disappearance, carrion shedding and healing time, pain relief, medical records of infection and recurrence were measured after the treatment and follow-up period. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 100% (70/70), and the control group was 91.4% (64/70). The difference between the 2 groups was statistically significant (χ2=4.322,P=0.037). After 3, 7 days, the pain relief in the observation group was better than that in the control group (Z=9.742, 16.860,P=0.008, 0.001). After treatment, the observation group swelling (4.9 ± 0.7 dvs. 6.1 ± 0.7 d,t=10.142), carrion shedding time (3.8 ± 0.5 dvs. 4.2 ± 0.4 d,t=5.227), the wound healing time (22.1 ± 4.0 dvs. 26.9 ± 4.0 d,t=7.099) were lower than those in the control group (P<0.01). During follow-up, 4 cases (5.7%) with secondary infection and 2 cases (2.9%) with recurrence were in the observation group, but 20 cases (28.6%) and 6 cases (8.6%) in the control group. There were significantly difference of the secondary infection and recurrence between two groups (χ2= 6.092,8.934,P= 0.034, 0.001). 2 groups of secondary infection, the differences were statistically significant. Conclusions The combination of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and herbal plaster could improve the wound healing time, reduce the secondary infection and recurrence rates of patients with anal abscess.

Objective To explore the clinical significance of STING in peripheral blood in patients with primary biliary cirrho-sis.Methods Admitted 28 PBC patients hospitalized in Shanghai Changhai Hospital and Shanghai Changzheng Hospital from January 2014 to October 2015.Also enrolled 28 healthy controls.Baseline data and laboratory indicators were extrac-ted,and STING mRNA expression was determined using q-PCR.The correlation between STING and clinical parameters were analyzed. The changes of STING mRNA in 5 followed-up patients with PBC were analyzed. Results Compared with healthy controls,STING mRNA was significantly increased in PBC patients and was increased in patients with severer dis-ease stages (U=0.00,P<0.05).STING was positively correlated with Mayo risk and GGT (R=0.45,R=0.42,P<0.05),and not AST,ALT or ALP (R=0.33,0.21,0.27,P>0.05).After therapy,STING mRNA were significantly re-duced in 5 PBC patients (U=0.00,P<0.05).Conclusion STING may be involved in PBC pathogenesis.
