Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2003;0(10):-
Objective To explore the relationship between cat fur or dog fur allergens and clinical presentation, as well as allergenic cross-reactivity between cat fur or dog fur allergens and other allergens. Methods Totally 548 children with allergic disorders were assayed with 13 international standard allergen agents by means of SPT. The results were denominated according to the size of skin areola or welt, reference histamine as positive, isotonic Na chloride as negative. Results In 143 children with cat fur allergenic SPT position, 98 cases were boys and 45 cases were girls with an average age of 5. 84 years. In 96 children with dog fur allergenic SPT positive,60 cases were boys and 36 cases were girls with an average age of 6.06 years. The most had occurred in summer. Of them,a large number of cases presented asthma, secondly presented mild cough. Besides, the cross- reactivity of cat fur and dog fur allergenic SPT positive in 64 cases with acarid was most common, followed by latex, which exceeded animal protein, while the cross - reactivity of mold, plant farina and chomophyte allergens were rare. Conclusions About 20% children with allergic disorders are cat fur or dog fur allergenic SPT positive. Cat fur or dog fur allergenic SPT positive results are significantly correlative to age and season, however they are not relative.to sex. Cat fur or dog fur allergens exist correlations with other allergens.

Objective To investigate the meridians and acupoints selection in the treatment of post-stroke spastic paralysis with Tuina (Chinese massage). Methods The literatures about Tuina therapy for post-stroke spastic paralysis were retrieved. The frequency of meridians and acupoints used was counted and analyzed. Results 99 papers were collected, which involved in 226 acupoints and 1602 times of application. The selected acupoints were distributed in all the fourteen meridians and 64.5% (1033/1602, 606 on upper limb, 427 on lower limb) of them were on the limbs. The acupoints of the Yang meridians was 75.0% (1200/1602) and the specific acupoints was 71.7% (1148/ 1602). Conclusion The acupoint selected was basically focused on the local areas in Tuina for post-stroke spastic paralysis, assisted with the involved meridians and distal acupoints. The acupoints of the Yang meridians were the first option, mainly on the extremities. The specific acupoints were the major components of the prescription, especially the Five-shu acupoints and the He acupoints.

Objective To investigate the effects of maternal deprivation on chronic stress?induced depression behavior and its characteristics in adult rats, and to evaluate the effects of maternal deprivation on the efficacy of escitalopram. Methods Newborn SD male rats were randomly divided into control ( C ) group, maternal deprivation (MD) group, chronic unpredictable stress (CUPS) group, maternal deprivation and chronic unpredictable stress ( MD+CUPS) group. Rats in control group received no experimental han?dling.Rats in MD group and MD+CUPS group received maternal deprivation from the lst day after birth for 14 days.Rats in CUPS group and MD+CUPS group received chronic unpredictable stress from 10 th weeks after birth for 28 days. Screened the rats with depression behaviors and treated them with escitalopram for 4 weeks. Results The incidence of anhedonia was significantly different among 4 groups (χ2=143.24, P<0.05). Pairwise comparison showed significant difference between any two groups (MD+CUPS group (75.76%) >CUPS group (40.98%) > MD group (17.11%) >C group (4.17%), P<0.0083). The incidence of behav?ioral despair was significantly different among 4 groups (χ2=70.34, P<0.05). Pairwise comparison showed the incidence of behavioral despair in MD+CUPS group (43.43%) and CUPS group (39.34%) were signifi?cantly higher than that in MD group (13.51%) and C group (3.33%),but no difference was observed be?tween MD+CUPS and CUPS group (P<0.0083) . The incidence of behavioral despair in MD group was signif?icant higher than that in C group. There was no significant efficacy of escitalopram on anhedonia and behav?ioral despair among 3 stressed models. However the recovery incidence from anhedonia (44/140) was significantly lower than that from behavioral despair (76/140) (χ2=14.93, P<0.05). Conclusion The maternal deprivation in?creases the stress sensitivity and the incidences of anhedonia in adult rats. The efficacy of escitalopram on behavioral despair is higher than that on anhedonia without influence from maternal deprivation.

Objective To observe effects of aqueous extractive of Clarke boea herb on mice with gastric ulcer, and provide basis for clinical application. Methods Gastric ulcer model was induced by reserpine. The mice were divided into normal group, model group, ranitidine group, low and high dose of Clarke boea herb groups. Mice in treatment groups were given corresponding drugs by gavage, and the normal group and control group were given the same amount of saline for 4 weeks. The area of gastric ulcer, serum proinflammatory cytokines gastric juice volume, gastric juice acidity, iNOS and COX-2 gene expressions were detected. Results Compared with control group, the gastric ulcer area in low and high dose of Clarke boea herb groups decreased significantly. Clarke boea herb increased the SS and VIP, decreased the MOT and SP serum levels (P<0.05,P<0.01). Clarke boea herb reduced the levels of serum proinflammatory cytokines of IL-6, IL-12, TNF-α and IFN-γ(P<0.05,P<0.01). Clarke boea herb also decreased the genetic expressions of iNOS and COX-2 (P<0.05,P<0.01).ConclusionClarke boea herb has good gastric ulcer preventive effects, and the high dose of Clarke boea herb group showed the best efficiency.
