1.Advances in research on application of bacteria combined with nanotechnology for tumor diagnosis and treatment
Chinese Journal of Biologicals 2024;37(1):117-124+128
Cancer diagnosis and treatment has always been a hot spot in clinical and basic scientific research. In recent years, scientists have developed a large number of tumor diagnosis and treatment methods based on bacteria combined with nanotechnology. Compared with pure bacterial diagnosis and treatment, bacterial diagnosis and treatment combined with nanotechnology can produce multiple synergistic effects, thereby improving the efficacy of tumor diagnosis and treatment. The characteristics of bacteria such as environmental sensitivity, tropism, motility and hypoxia growth combined organically with nanotechnology can increase the solubility of insoluble drugs, promote drug lysosomal escape, and avoid phagocytosis and clearance of the reticuloendothelial system to construct a new type of bacterial micro/nano diagnosis and treatment platform, thereby achieving the precise tumor diagnosis and controlled drug release. This paper reviewed the research progress of bacteria combined with nanotechnology for tumor diagnosis and treatment in recent years and the challenges and possible solutions,so as to provide reference for promoting the rapid development of tumor diagnosis and treatment research.

3.Assessment of Left Ventricular Regional Diastolic Function in Different Degrees of Coronary Stenosis by Three-dimensional Speckle Tracking Imaging
Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging 2016;24(1):19-23
Purpose To evaluate the left ventricular regional diastolic function in coronary heart disease (CHD) patients without regional wall motion abnormality by real-time three-dimensional speckle tracking imaging (RT3D-STI) to investigate the value of RT3D-STI in the diagnosis of early CHD. Materials and Methods 140 CHD patients with 420 coronary artery main branches were enrolled and divided into 4 groups according to the results of coronary angiography (CAG): normal group (101 coronary artery branches without stenosis), mild stenosis group (112 coronary artery branches with stenosis<50%), moderate stenosis group (95 coronary artery branches with stenosis 50%-75%) and sever stenosis group (112 coronary artery branches with stenosis>75%). Three dimensional full volume images were collected through the chest, and the corresponding strain imaging diastolic index (SI-DI) of each direction was calculated, their value for the diagnosis of coronary artery disease was analyzed. Results The longitudinal, area and radial SI-DI of mild coronary artery stenosis group were lower than those of normal group (P<0.05);the longitudinal, area, radial and circumferential SI-DI of moderate coronary artery stenosis group were lower than normal group (P<0.05) and the area, longitudinal and circumferential SI-DI were lower than those of the mild stenosis group (P<0.05);the longitudinal, area, radial and circumferential SI-DI were all lower than those of normal and mild stenosis group (P<0.05), and the area, longitudinal and radial SI-DI were all lower than the moderate stenosis group (P<0.05). ROC curve showed that the sensitivity of longitudinal SI-DI (84.0%) was highest, while the specificity of area SI-DI (78.9%) was the highest. Conclusion RT3D-STI has important significance for early detection and diagnosis of CHD, regional diastolic function decrease of the coronary artery supply area occurs earlier than systolic function reduction, and diastolic function is more sensitive for myocardial ischemia, as a result, SI-DI is able to reflect the stenosis degree of coronary artery in a certain extent.

7.Simultaneous Determination of Five Major Lignans from Schisandrae Sphenantherae Fructus and Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus by Microemulsion Liquid Chromatography
Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;(5):94-98
Objective To develop a stable and sensitive microemulsion liquid chromatography method by using oil-in-water microemulsion mobile phase; To simultaneously determine five major active lignans, namely, schizandrin, schisandrol B, schisantherin A, deoxyschizandrin, and schisandrin B, in Schisandrae Sphenantherae Fructus and Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus. Methods The quantitative determination was conducted by using Kromasil C18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5μm). The influence of the composition of the microemulsion system on separation effect and retention time was studied. The method was optimized to sodium dodecyl sulfonate 3.3%(SDS, W/V), n-octanol 1.2% (V/V) and n-butanol 6.6% (V/V) in 20 mmol/L phosphate buffer (adjusted to pH 7.0 with orthophosphoric acid and sodium hydroxide). The flow rate was set at 0.7 mL/min. The compound peaks were detected by UV at 254 nm. The column temperature was 25 ℃. Results Under the optimized conditions, baseline separation of 5 lignans was achieved in 20 min, and the separation was satisfying. Schizandrin, schisandrol B, schisantherin A, deoxyschizandrin, and schisandrin B were in linear relation within the ranges of 2.0-155.0, 8.3-166.7, 8.8-175.8, 8.3-166.7, 8.9-177.1μg/mL (r>0.999). The limit of detection ranged from 0.06μg/mL to 0.18μg/mL, and the limit of quantitation ranged from 0.17μg/mL to 0.55μg/mL. The average recovery values were between 97.22%and 100.8%. Conclusion This method is simple, accurate and reliable, and can be successfully applied to simultaneous determination of five major active lignans in 13 batches of Schisandrae Sphenantherae Fructus and Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus from different producing areas in China.
