BACKGROUND: Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) has important biological effects on the heart, it can promote cardiac and vascular smooth muscle growth and metabolism.OBJECTIVE: To summarize the biological effects of IGF-1, to clarify the mechanism of exercise-induced cardiac hypertrophy, and make better use of the exercise influence on IGF1 to achieve adaptive cardiac hypertrophy.METHODS: With exercise-induced cardiac hypertrophy, insulin-like growth factor, exercise in English for the search terms,Pubmed database from January 1990 to April 2009 was retrieved; With exercise-induced cardiac hypertrophy, insulin-like growth factor, exercise in Chinese for the search terms, CNKI database from January 1990 to April 2009 was searched. Literatures were limited to English and Chinese languages. Inclusive criteria: animal experimental study and clinical application research closely linked to IGF-1; exclusive criteria: the old literatures and Meta analysis.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Totally 41 literatures were screened out by computers, according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria; 31 documents of which were involved for analysis. The IGF coordinates with other growth factors to promote differentiations and maturity of a variety of cells. The current data indicate that the blood serum and the cardiac local IGF-1 play an important role on cardiac hypertrophy. This study used the method of literature to analyze the production and action mechanism of the circulatory and cardiac IGF, discuss the functions of cardiac local IGF and the effect of exercise on it, and bring forward that exercise can alter the IGF expressions, IGF is related to the formation of exercise-induced cardiac hypertrophy.

Objective To investigate the characteristics of the clinic manifestations and the electromyogram changes in patients with chronic N2hexane intoxication. Methods The clinic manifestations, the electromyography and nerve conduction velocities were analyzed in 9 patients with N2hexane intoxi2 cation. Results The main clinical manifestations of the disease were acroparesthesia and asthenia, especially in legs. The abnormality rate of electromyography in patients with N2hexane intoxication was 100%. The conduction velocity of the sensory nerve and the motor nerve decreased at a rate of 33.33% and 88.89% respectively. The distal latencies were prolonged( 100% ). The denervated electromyogram was 33.33%. Conclusion The main clinical manifestations of the disease were Peripheral neuropathy. The chronic N2hexane intoxication mainly led to the imparement, especially in the distal region of the motor nerve in legs,and the damages of the nerve could be related to the duration of exposure to N2hexane.

Objective To analyse the differences between idiopathic and symptomatic childhood epilepsy with occipital patoxysms. Methods The medical records of 38 patients with interictal spikes and/or sharp waves over occipital areas,posterior temporal-parietal areas,or both were retrospectively analysed.Epidemiological data,ictal symptoms,electroencephalogram,neuroimaging studies,treatment response and prognosis were compared using chi-square test or Mann-Whitney U test. Results Four patients of idiopathic group had positive family history related to nervous system.Seizures were more frequent in symptomatic group than in idiopathic group.Both groups showed autonomic symptoms,while ictal vomiting and deviation of eyes were more common in the presence of Panayiotopoulos type.The prognosis of idiopathic group was much better than that of symptomatic group. Conclusion Panayiotopoulos syndrome is more common.Neurologic deficits and electroencephalographic characteristics are major factors to predict seizure remission in children with occipital lobe epilepsy.Idiopathic childhood epilepsy with occipital paroxysms may result in better prognosis.

Objective For arising recognition to HIE of neonate.We made a summary and a retrospective studied to CT material of 130 cases for neonate suffering HIE,combined with clinical diagnosis and documents.Methods 130 cases for neonate suffering HIE diagnosed by CT and clinic,all underwent unenhanced CT scan.Results Appearance of HIE:Normal involved 1～4 brain′s lobe,often involved frontal lobe;can be accompanied by kinds of intracranial hemorrhage;can be accompanied by infarction.Conclusion Among HIE cases,hypoxia and ischiemia were cause and result each other;difference among clinical symptoms and CT apearances are possible;the neonate with moderate and sereve asphyxia can be accompanied by intracranial hemorrhage more easier;to the injury of parasagittal region,CT and USG can not make a diagnosis.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ( COPD) is a group of chronic airway inflammatory disease characterized by sustained airflow limitation and pulmonary function damage.Inflammation and tissue repair repeatedly result in airway remodeling.Now the mechanisms of airway remodeling remain unclear.More and more researches indicated that epithelial mesenchymal transition ( EMT) is crucial in the airway remodeling of COPD.EMT could be induced by various cell factors and signal channels in the airway epithelium, thus the airway remodeling happened.This review systematically introduces EMT and focuses on the relationship of EMT and airway remodeling of COPD and the probable mechanisms.

Reviews research findings about aberrant crypt foci on concepts, relation to colon carcinogenesis, relative genes and biomarkers, methods, signification. It shows that aberrant crypt foci are possible precursors of adenoma and cancer, which can be early diagnosis marks of colon carcinogenesis.

Objective:To test the microtensile bonding strength between root canal wall and Bis-Core, and that between root canal wall and Chemil Superior glass-ionomer.Methods:10 human maxillary incisors extracted within one week were kept for another one week after root canal treatment and removeal of the crowns,each root was splited into two parts along with the long axis by Isomet saw, the bonding interface on one third of upside of root dentin smear layer was made with Diamond bur at a high-speed. Then Bis-Core and Chemil Superior glass-ionomer were put on root canal inner surface of each half part of the root respectively, samples with the size of 1.00 mm?1.00 mm were prepared by Isomet saw. Two samples in which bonding interface was perpendiculur to load were selected and fixed in Microtensile testing machine for bonding strength test. Results:Microtensile bonding strength(MPa) between Bis-Core and root canal inner wall and that between root canal inner wall and Chemil Superior glass-ionomer was 20.65?1.72 and 12.89?1.63 respectively(P

Objective:To observe the microstructure of interface between material and dentin after root canal rehabilitation. Methods:Three human maxillary incisors extracted within one week were used. After crowns being removed and received root canal treatment, they were used for the study. The root was split into two parts along the long axis, then the bonding interface was made with high speed diamond bur. Bis-Core and Chemil Superior glass-ionomer were stacked on root canal inner wall respectively and the teeth were split along with the long axis with Isomet saw, in order to expose bonding interface. The microstructure of bonding interface of the samples were analyzed by optical microscope and atomic force microscope(AFM). Results: AFM observation of the adhesive interface specimens showed that Chemil Superior glass-ionomer and teeth knitted together completely and no filling invaded into dentin tube. While the bonding interface between Bis-Core and dentin, dentin primer infiltrated into dentin tube and matrix around through the smear layer and colophony protruded. Conclusion:The observations reveal the extent of resin penetration into the dentinal tubules provides a very strong bonding. This is a fundamental cause of resin better bond to tooth.

Objective To analyze the association between type 2 diabetes and lung cancer and study their clinical features.Methods 76 lung cancer patients admitted in Shengjing hospital from June 2006 to June 2008 and their neighbors(or their colleagues)were enrolled to conduct a 1∶1 matched case control study.Results 27.63% of lung cancer patients had type 2 diabetes.Adenocarcinoma was the most common type associated with type 2 diabetes,accounting for 47.62%.There was no statistical significance in ages and gender between cases and their matched control.The symptoms of type 2 diabetes with lung cancers were not typical.Conclusion Type 2 diabetes is significantly correlated with lung cancers.The incidence of type 2 diabetes in lung cancer patients is higher than that in subjects without lung cancers.Early diagnosis and strict blood glucose control are critical for good prognosis.

Objective To analyze the clinical data of vulvar squamous cell carcinoma and discuss the related risk factors.Methods The clinical data obtained from 109 cases of vulvar squamous cell carcinoma were analyzed retrospectively.Results The most common ages of onset were 50-69 years.The course of canceration was usually 6-12 months,and most lesions occurred on the labia majora.The sizes of tumour were around 2-4 cm,and more than 90 ％ of lesions were well-differentiated squamous cell carcinomas.According to 2009 FIGO new staging of vulva cancer,more patients were reclassified as stage Ⅰ B,while patients with stage Ⅱ and Ⅲ became less.99 out of 109 patients also had nonneoplastic epithelial disorders of vulva.The lesions mostly affected the labia majora and the labia minora,and 60 ％ of them were pathologically diagnosed as lichen sclerosus.Patients with nonneoplastic epithelial disorders of vulva usually developed into vulvar carcinoma within 10-15 years.Conclusion The incidence of vulvar squamous cell carcinoma is closely related with vulvar nonneoplastic epithelial disorders of the vulva.As the chronic nonneoplastic epithelial disorders of vulva increase the risk of vulvar cancer,periodic follow-up will help its early detection.
