Objective To analyse the pathologic changes and MRI appearances of mitrial atresia (MA). Methods MRI appearances of 5 cases with MA confirmed by operation were reviewed and compared with angiocardiography (CAG). Results MRI demonstrated the pathologic characteristics of three types of MA according to the traditional classification:biventricular hearts with imperforate mitral valve (1 case),univentricular heart of right ventricular type with absent left atrioventricular connection (3 cases) and univentricular heart of left ventricular type with imperforate mitral valve (1 case).MRI still provided anatomic information of associated anomalies including mainly aneurysms of atrial septum (1 case),total anomalous pulmonary venous drainge into superior vena cava (1 case),absent left pulmonary artery (1 case) and pulmonary stenosis (4 cases). The right atrial and(or) ventricular angiocardiograms in the 5 cases could not display the anatomic morphology of the malformation, with exception of one case only. Conclusion MRI is valuable in diagnosis of MA.

Objective To explore the prognostic effect of fluid-attenuated inversion recovery imaging vascular hyperintensity (FVH)on intravenous thrombolysis of acute ischemic stroke. Methods We retrospectively reviewed the clinical and imaging data of intravenous thrombolytic patients with acute anterior circulation infarction admitted from May 2009 to December 2013.The presence of FVH was evaluated, and its associations with reperfusion and clinical outcome after thrombolysis were assessed. Results Ninety-three patients were analyzed.FVH was detectable in 55 (59.1%) cases.Patients with FVH had higher NIHSS scores (11.8 ± 6.0 vs 7.2 ± 4.5,P < 0.01),larger initial DWI lesions (5.5 ml vs 2.0 ml,Z =-3.030,P=0.002) and perfusion lesions (42.0 ml vs 3.0 ml,Z=-6.104,P =0.005),compared with those without FVH.The history of hyperlipidemia (OR =0.264,95% CI 0.07-0.90,P =0.048) and proximal large vessel occlusion(OR =48.874,95% CI 11.6-205.924,P < 0.01) were independently associated with the presence of FVH.The presence of FVH independently predicted the poor neurological outcome at 3 months (OR =4.143,95 % CI 1.440-11.919,P =0.008).However,early reperfusion was associated with favorable outcome in patients with FVH after intravenous thrombolysis (OR =8.500,95% CI 1.964-36.790,P =0.004).Conclusions The presence of FVH is associated with proximal large vessel occlusion, which predicts poor outcome in patients with intravenous thrombolysis. However, early reperfusion among patients with FVH can improve the outcome.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of calcipotriol betamethasone ointment for the treatment of pso‐riasis vulgaris in the stable stage of patient .Methods This was a randomized ,parallel controlled clinical trials ,in which 90 patients with psoriasis vulgaris were randomly divided into experimental group and controlled group .All of them received 4 weeks of thera‐py .We compared the efficacy and safety 1 ,2 ,4 week after treatment by calcipotriol betamethasone ointment .Results About the clinical efficacy ,according to the decrease in percentage of psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) were:23 patients in the experi‐mental group were effective(efficacy rate is 76 .67% ) ,14 patients in control group Ⅰ was effective(efficacy rate is 46 .67% ) ,15 pa‐tients in control group Ⅱ was effective(efficacy rate is 50% ) .The differention between experimental group and the two control groups was significant(P< 0 .05 ,P< 0 .01) .After 1 ,2 ,4 weeks of therapy ,the decrease in percentage of PASI of experimental group is higher than that in the control groups .The scores of the observed erythema ,infiltration ,scale were decreased ,and the total scores of PASI are also decreased 4 weeks after therapy .The decrease score of experimental group is higher than that of control group Ⅰ(P<0 .01) and control group Ⅱ(P<0 .01) .The side effects of the experimental group are mild such as itching ,folliculi‐tis ,erythema ,and the laboratory examinations had no abnormal changes .Conclusion Calcipotriol betamethasone ointment was more effective to treat the stable stage psoriasis vulgaris patients compared with single use of halometasone or calcipotriol .It takes effect quickly ,and could be more feasible and safe .

Objective To evaluate the early outcomes of mini-open lumbar microdiscectomy. Methods There were 38 cases in each group of mini-open lumbar mierodiscectomy and conventional discecto- my.Operating time, blood loss, time of leaving the bed and length of hospital stay were compared in two groups.MacNab criteria were used to evaluate the outcomes. Results To compare the conventional discec- tomy group, microdiscectomy group spent similar operating time, but had less blood loss(P

Bulletin of The Academy of Military Medical Sciences 2010;34(1):95-97
The medicine for military use only is an essential material for medical support. The United States of America is one of the earliest countries which has used special medicine to protect the military personnel from injuries and diseases. The current situation of service support in the military of USA is introduced and the challenges facing the development, product, supply and use of the special medicine in USA are analyzed, for reference by our army.
