Objective To evaluate the anti-tumour effect of 60℃ LipiodoI in the embolization of VX_2 hepatocarcinoma in rabbits.Methods VX_2 carcinoma cells were surgically implanted into the left liver lobe in 30 male New Zealand white rabbits,which were randomly divided into 3 groups by figure and table method with 10 rabbits in each group.Physiological saline,Lipiodol(37℃),and Lipiodol(60℃)were injected in each group via hepatic artery and liver cancer was embolized.The volume of tumour and serum level of aspartate aminotransferase(AST)were observed after one week,and the survival period of VX_2 rabbits was also observed.Results In the group of Lipiodol(60℃),the growth rate of tumour(0.92? 0.21)was significantly lower than that of control group(3.48?1.17)and Lipiodol(37℃)groups (1.69?0.26),respectively(F=34.95,P0.05),but was significantly higher than the control group(68.6?6.6)U/L(t=19.24,P

Objective To explore the best way to diagnose and cure the nephrosis with ureteropelvic junction obstruction(UPJO) in children.Methods The diagnosis of 26 cases of nephrosis with UPJO were confirmed by ultrasonogram and IVU examinations.All patients underwent AndersonHynes procedures.These results were analyzed and summarized.Results All the diagnosis were proved to be correct by operation and pathology examinations,the operations were carried out successfully.Twenty-four cases were followed up for 6 months to 2 years.After the operation,the hematuria,urinary frequency,abdominal mass and distention disappeared,the urine analysis was normal,all cases cured clinically.Ultrasonogram examinations showed the thickness of parenchyma increased and the large kidneys lessened.Significantly improved renal fuoction on IVU examinations was observed in the 24 cases compared with that before the operations.The ureters of 20 cases displayed well.Conclusions The combination of ultrasonogram and IVU is very effective method to diagnose UPJO in children.Anderson-Hynes technique is the best procedure to cure the UPJO.

120 strains of endophytic bacteria identified by ERIC-PCR were isolated from wild and cultivated Glycyrrhiza uralensis plants which collected from Erdos Innermongolia province.The identified results indicated that Glycyrrhiza uralensis plants has plenty of endophytic bacterium in density and population,and the density is higher in root and leave than in stem.Partial sequence analysis of 16S rDNA gene of 82 strains indicated that these strains were in a high similarity with 19 known genus which belong to?、?、 ?-Proteobacteria、Firmicutes and Actinobacteria.The dominant genus were Bacillus sp.,Pseudomonas sp., Pantoea sp.and Serratia sp..

Objective To discuss the clinical feature ,diagnosis and treatment of the occult cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea after tracheotomy in patients with severe traumatic brain injury .Methods The clinical data of 18 cases of the occult cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea after tracheotomy in patients with severe traumatic brain injury were retro -spectively analyzed .Results 15 cases showed involuntary swallowing movements ,frequent stimulus-likecough, abnormal increased secretions in the oral and nasal;3 cases performance of aspiration ,hypoxemia ,respiratory distress . After a three -dimensional thin skull CT , cisternography , nasal endoscopic examination can confirm the diagnosis . After the treatment with replacing the tracheostomy tube with a balloon ,continuous lumbar drainage ,endoscopic repair leak,the cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea were cured .Conclusion Patients with occult cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea performance the diversity and easily missed ,early detection and timely treatment can prevent cerebrospinal fluid rhi-norrhea delayed healing and intracranial infection and promote patient recovery .

Objective: To investigate the circadian ryhthm v ariation of 2-125I-iodomelatonin (125I-Mel) binding sites in the human peripheral leukocytes in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods: Melatonin binding sites in the human peripheral leukocytes were studied using 125　I-Mel as a radioligand (radioligand binding assays).A ll patients ［age: (70.18±11.70) years］ were diagnosed by CT according to the standard ［Chin J Nerv， 1996,29(6):379］. We also studied 15 age-match ed healthy old people as the control ［age: (68.33±7.76) years］. Resul ts: The circadian ryhthm variation of 125　I-Mel specific binding in control remained significant (P<0.01) with a higher value at midlight ［ (0.16±0.049) fmol/106］ than at middark ［(0.078±0.035) fmol/106］ with one point analysis. There was no significant variation in the patient grou p (P>0.05). The specific binding in the peripheral leukocytes at midlight in the patients with acute cerebral infarction were lower than that of the control . Conclusion: The expression of Mel receptor decreases in the pa tients wit h acute cerebral infarction and the circadian ryhthm variation of 2-125I -Mel appears abnormal.

Pseudorabies virus (PRV) is a swine herpesvirus of the Alphaherpesvirinae subfamily and a pathogen of swine resulting in devastating disease and economic losses worldwide. Cre/loxP site-specific system has the character of site specific, time specific, tissue specific and high efficiency in recombination, which makes this system universal in vivo and in vitro recombination of bacteria, fungus, plants, insects and mammals. A recombinant PRV which contain a loxP site in TK locus by using Cre/LoxP recombinant system was construsted. A pair of primers were synthesized according to the pEGFP-C1 sequence published on GenBank, and were used to amplify the EGFP gene expression cassette with two loxP sites flanking each side. This target gene was cloned into pSKLR, the resulting transfer vector pSKLR-GFP-loxP was then cotransfected into 293T cells with PRV SH strain genomic DNA. The recombinant virus rPRV1 was selected and purified in TK-143 cells by choosing fluorescent expressing plaques. Cre expression vector pOG231 was cotransfected into 293T cells with rPRV1 genomic DNA. The second recombinant virus rPRV2 was obtained, which contains only one loxP site in TK locus. Sequencing results of rPRV2 TK gene indicated that 34bp loxP site was inserted into rPRV2 genome and there were 270bp deletion in TK gene. PCR amplifying different generations of rPRV2 TK gene showed that the mutant was stable when passages in RK-13 cells. TCID_ 50 assay indicated that rPRV2 grows well on RK-13 cells. The LD_ 50 test results on BALB/C mice suggested that the virulence of rPRV2 was reduced. As a conclusion, the report gene GFP expression cassette was removed successfully from rPRV1 genome and only one LoxP site was leaved in rPRV2 genome by using Cre/LoxP recombinant system.

Objective: To study the chemical constituents from the dried fruiting body of Ganoderma lucidum and its activities. Methods: The compounds were isolated and purified from the 95% ethanol extract of G. lucidum by silica gel CC, MPLC, HPLC, and so on. Their structures were identified by extensive spectroscopic analysis. The compounds were evaluated for their inhibitory effects against α-glucosidase compared with those of the positive control acarbose. Results: A total of 11 lanostane triterpenoids were isolated from the 95% ethanol extract of G. lucidum and identified as ganoderanol A (1), ganoderic acid H (2), ganoderic acid AM1 (3), ganoderic acid D (4), methyl ganoderate D (5), ganolucidic acid E (6), 11α-hydroxy-3,7-dioxo-5α-lanosta-8,24 (E)-dien-26-oic acid (7), ganoderenic acid D (8), lucidenic acid A (9), methyl lucidenate F (10), and lucidenic acid B (11). Conclusion: Among them, compound 1 is a new compound. Additionally, compounds 1 and 5 show moderate inhibitory effect on α-glucosidase.

Based on the reconstruction of two-dimension phase space of time series of short ECG signals, the variation of the strange attractor geometry is described and two indices, VMI and VAI, are derived in this paper. The two indices can distinguish clearly the ECG signals of sinus rhythm, tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation. Stable results of VMI and VAI can be obtained by analyzing ECG signals of several seconds. They are expected to be used in the development of medical instruments for a fast realtime display of analysis results.

OBJECTIVEThe aim of this study was to identify the risk factors for adverse neonatal outcome in twins in order to provide a basis for the improvement of the survival and neonatal outcomes of twins.

METHODSData from 254 twins admitted to Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University From January 2005 to December 2009 were retrospectively studied. Risk factors for adverse neonatal outcomes were assessed by logistic regression analysis.

RESULTSOf the 254 twins, 84 (33.1%) had an adverse outcome, including 10 (3.9%) neonatal deaths. Logistic regression analysis demonstrated that gestational age (≤34 weeks), cord abnormalities, meconium-stained amniotic fluid and 5-min Apgar scores (≤7) were independent risk factors for adverse neonatal outcomes (OR=4.434, 4.731, 3.424, 18.958, respectively; P=0.021, 0.001, 0.037, 0.011, respectively). Conception by assisted reproductive technology was shown as a protective factor for adverse neonatal outcomes (OR=0.389, P=0.037).

CONCLUSIONSThe twins with gestational age ≤34 weeks, cord abnormalities, meconium-stained amniotic fluid or 5-min Apgar scores (≤7) are subject to adverse neonatal outcome.
