Objective To explore the impact of a“one-week”staged multivessel percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) versus culprit-only PCI on deaths and major adverse cardiac events (MACE). Methods We retrospectively analyzed 447 patients with multivessel disease who experienced a ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) within 12 h before undergoing PCI between July 26, 2008 and Septem-ber 25, 2011. After completion of PCI in the infarct artery, 201 patients still in the hospital agreed to undergo PCI in non-infarct arteries with more than 70%stenosis for a“one-week”staged multivessel PCI. A total of 246 patients only received intervention for the culprit vessel. Follow-up ended on September 9, 2014. This study examined the differences in deaths from any cause (i.e., cardiac and noncardiac) and MACE between the two treatment groups. Results Compared to a culprit-only PCI treatment approach, the“one-week”staged multivessel PCI was strongly associated with greater benefits for 55-month all cause death [41 (16.7%) vs.13 (6.5%), P=0.004] and MACE [82 (33.3%) vs. 40 (19.9%), P=0.002] rates. In addition, there were significant differences in the number of myocardial infarctions [43 (17.5%) vs. 20 (10.0%), P=0.023], coronary-artery bypass grafting [CABG;20 (8.1%) vs. 6 (3.0%), P=0.021], and PCI [31 (12.6%) vs. 12 (6.0%), P=0.018]. Patients undergoing culprit-only PCI compared to“one-week”PCI had the same number of stent thrombosis events [7 (2.8%) vs. 3 (1.5%), P=0.522]. Conclusions Compared to a culprit-only PCI treatment approach,“one-week”staged multi-vessel PCI was a safe and effective selection for STEMI and multi-vessel PCI.

Objective To find out more about the population structure and clonal complex of clinical Vibrio parahaemolyticus strains in Asia.Methods Clinical Vibrio parahaemolyticus strains data were screened in Asia with complete ST and pST types from PubMLST public database,their subgroup and complex were analyzed,and the minimum spanning tree based on ST and pST types respectively was completed.Results From the database,341 items of ST and pST types of Asian clinical Vibrio parahaemolyticus strains were screened,including 157 ST,most of which were of ST3 type.Totally 214 items of data came from China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan),and covered 133 ST,most of which were of ST3 type.eBURST software was used and 17 groups and 94 singletons were found.Software STRUCTURE analysis showed that the appropriate subset number of clinical V.parahaemolyticus strains in Asia was 7,and that the average distance between samples in each subgroup was 0.9113.Conclusion Clinical V.parahaemolyticus strains in Asia show high diversity and can be subdivided into seven subgroups.ST3 type is dominating when multilocus sequence typing(MLST)is used and pST2 type is the majority by AA-MLST typing.

Objective To learn more about virulence genes and clonal complex group structure of Vibrio parahaemolyticus (VPH)strains separated from aquatic products in East China coastal areas between 2007 and 2012.Methods Seventy-nine strains separated from aquatic products in eastern coastal areas(Guandong,Fujian,Shanghai,Shandong,Jiangsu and Beijing)of China between 2007 and 2012 were identified as VPH by real-time-PCR with gene tlh.Gene tdh,trh and orf8 were also detected.Subgroup analysis and complex analysis were conducted of the VPH strains to build the minimum spanning tree respectively based on ST and pST types.Results In 79 VPH strains,gene tlh was positive while 8.86%(7 /79)of the isolates of gene tdh were positive.The carrying rate of gene orf8 was 8.86%.These 79 strains were of 69 ST types,involving 3 clonal complex and 62 singleton.By amino acid(AA)-multilocus sequence typing(MLST),79 strains covered the 23 pST types,2 clonal complexes and 1 singleton.The 363 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)were divided into 68 patterns.Conclusion VPH strains from aquatic products in eastern coastal areas of China are characterized by high polymorphisms and a low carrying rate of virulence genes.ST3 type is dominating when MLST typing is used while pST1 type is the majority by AA-MLST typing.

ObjectiveTo measure the displacement parameters of the femoral head in space through CT three-dimensional reconstruction so as to re-understand impacted femoral neck fractures.MethodsFifty patients with impacted femoral neck fractures were included in the study.There were 17 males and 33 females.Bilateral proximal femurs of each patient were scanned by spiral CT preoperatively.Then these primitive CT data were reconstructed by Mimics 10.01 software.Registered the normal femur and fracture mirror model,the registered mirror model was generated a new mask in the CT cross-sectional images,marked key points in the masks and measured the displacement parameters of femoral head with three-dimensional measurement technology.ResultsIn the impacted femoral neck fractures,the femoral head displacement angle was 17.17°±10.40°,70％(35/50) of the patients had femoral head rotation angle was at 10° to 35°,and 30％(15/50) of the patients had femoral head space displacement more than 20°.The average displacement distance of femoral head center and the deepest point of fovea capitis were(6.49±3.60) mm and(10.42±5.92) mm,respectively.A high proportion of the impacted femoral neck fractures had a large of displacement in the three-dimensional space.It is not scientific to equal impacted femoral neck fractures to undisplaced fractures.ConclusionThree-dimensional reconstruction and digital measurement is a precise,efficient and convenient method for the measurement of femoral head displacement parameters in femoral neck fracture patients.The classic Garden classification for impacted femoral neck fractures has certain defects and limitations.Clinicians should re-understand impacted femoral neck fractures and choose more reasonable treatment.

To improve 3-ketosteroid-△1-dehydrogenase(KSDH) activity and the transformation level for androst-4-ene-3,17-dione, 3-ketosteroid-△1-dehydrogenase gene(ksdD) from Arthrobacter simplex was cloned into plasmid pWB980 and expressed in B. subtilis WB600 under the control of promoter P43. The molecular weight of expressed enzyme was about 55kDa by SDS-PAGE analysis. The activitities assayed by spectrophotometrical method of intracellular and extracellular soluble enzyme were 110?0.5mU and 15?0.6mU per milligram of protein respectively. The transformation rate of androst-4-ene-3,17-dione by the B. subtilis recombinant cells was 45.3%. Compared with Arthrobacter simplex, the enzyme activity of KSDH expressed in B. subtilis was improved about 30 fold, and the transformation level of androst-4-ene-3,17-dione by the B. subtilis recombinant cells was improved about 10 fold. The recombinant B. subtilis cells used in biotransformation of steroids provided a new way for steroid medicines production.

Objective To study the safety and effectiveness of modified radioactive 125I seed implantation in treatment of lung cancer patients with poor lung function. Methods Thirty one lung cancer patients with poor lung function were enrolled into this study. All of them were implanted 125I seed with technology of fan-shaped distribution and coaxial puncture. Brachytherapy planning system(TPS) was used to draw up a preoperative implantation plan. Fan-shaped seed distribution system was used to simulate surgical program, and implantation pitch was 0.5 to 1.0 cm. Real-time adjustment is necessary during surgery. Dose distributions were checked by TPS immediately after implantation. Match peripheral dose(MPD),the dose of 90% tumor volume(D90)and the tumor volume covered by 90% prescription dose(D90)were calculated. Intraoperative and postoperative surgery-related complications were analyzed. All patients were followed up to 6 months, at month 2, 4 and 6 post-procedure, CT scan was performed to evaluate the local control rate of tumors. Results The technical success rate was 100% for placement of the 125I seed. MPD of the tumors was 90 to 140 Gy. D90 was 95 to 146 Gy,median dose was 118 Gy.V90 was 92%to 97%,median dose was 94%. Surgery-related complications included pulmonary hemorrhage(1 patient), pleural cavity hemorrhage (2 patients), pneumothorax(2 patients). The 2-month, 4-month and 6-monthlocal control rates were 31%(10/32), 78%(25/32) and 90%(29/32)respectively. The overall complete remission(CR) rate was18%(6/32), partial response(PR) rate was 72%(23/32), stable disease(SD)rate was6%(2/32), progression disease(PD) rate was 3%(1/32).Acute radiation pneumonitis Grade 0 in 29 patients, Grade Ⅰin 4 patients; advanced radiation pneumonitis:grade 0 in 30 patients and gradeⅠin 3 patients. Conclusions The technology of fan-shaped distribution and coaxial puncture for radioactive 125I seed implantation was safe and effective to treat lung cancer patients with poor lung function.

AIM AND METHODSThe relation between AT sclerosis (loss of neurons and proliferation of astrocytes) and long-lasting epileptic susceptibility was investigated by thionine staining, GFAP immunohistochemistry and observing the behavior of rats, after scorpion venom (SV) or normal saline (NS) administrated for three week.

RESULTSCompared with NS+ NS group, both the loss of neurons and proliferation of astrocytes were very marked in KA+ NS group (epileptic susceptible rats) (P < 0.05), but those changes were not visible in KA+ NS group (epileptic nonsusceptible rats).

CONCLUSIONSIt suggested that AT sclerosis may be one of important reasons of the long-lasting epileptic susceptibility.

Objective To detect miR-181d expression levels in colon cancer cell lines,and to study the functions of miR-181d on colon cancer cell proliferation and apoptosis.Methods RT qPCR was employed to study miR-181d cxpression levels in colon cancer cell line HCT116,HT29,LoVo,SW480 and SW620 cells,as well as in colon normal epithelial cell line HIEC.miR-181d mimic and control were transfected into LoVo cells while miR-181d inhibitor and control were transfected into SW620 cells.qRT-PCR was performed to validate the transfection efficiency.MTT assay was performed to measure cell proliferation while flow cytometry was performed to detect cell cycle and apoptosis rate.Results miR-181d was universally downregulated in all colon cancer cell lines compared to the colon normal epithelial cell line HIEC (F=29.34,P＜0.01).Overexpression of miR-181d in LoVo cells significantly decreased in vitro cell proliferation rate (F=5.403,P＜0.01).Flow cytometry indicated that cells at S phase were greatly decreased (t=4.71,P＜0.05) and apoptotic cells were gready increased compared to the control cells (t=3.47,P＜0.05).On the contrary,inhibition of miR-181d in SW620 cells significantly promoted cell proliferation (F=20.82,P＜0.01).Cell cycle was accelerated with significant increase in S phase compared to the control cells (t=2.92,P＜0.05),whereas apoptosis rano was significantly decreased (t=4.14,P＜0.05).Conclusion miR-181d was universally downregulated in colon cancer cell lines compared to the normal epithelial cell line.miR-181d inhibits cell proliferation and induces apoptosis,thus functions as an tumor suppressive miRNA.
