Objective:To investigate the clinical and neuroimaging features of atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors (AT/RT) of the central nervous system and the survival prognosis in different locations.Methods:The clinical data of 27 patients with AT/RT confirmed by biopsy or postoperative pathology in Sanbo Brain Hospital of Capital Medical University from October 2012 to September 2020 were collected, including 17 males and 10 females, aged (7.6±10.0) years, ranging from 0.2 to 39.0 years old.The clinical features and the results of the first preoperative imaging examination were retrospectively analyzed.The patients were divided into supratentorial, infratentorial and trans supratentorial and infratentorial groups according to the location.The survival time of the three groups was compared by Kaplan-Meier survival curve.Results:All patients presented with headache, including 12 cases with vomiting.There were 12 cases of supratentorial, 10 cases of infratentorial and 5 cases of supratentorial and infratentorial.There were 20 cases of cystic degeneration, 7 cases of calcification, 6 cases of hemorrhage and 13 cases of peritumoral edema.The median survival time of patients with infratentorial AT/RT was longer than that of patients with supratentorial and transtentorial AT/RT (χ 2=7.353, P=0.025). Conclusion:Central nervous system AT/RT is easy to occur in young children, and the survival time of AT/RT patients is longer.

Objective To elucidate the efficacy and safety of transcatheter closure of secondary atrial septal defect (ASD) with Amplatzer septal occluder (ASO) in people over 50 years of age. Methods Retrospective comparison of 41 patients (14 males, 27 females) with ASD over 50 years of age ranging from 50 to 75(mean age 55.5?7.6, elder group) was conducted with 132 patients younger than 50 years(control group). After diagnosis of ASDs and evaluation of pulmonary artery systolic pressure and right atrial and ventricular dimensions by transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), all patients underwent transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) for complete assessment of ASD size, margins and anatomic relationship of the defect before closure of ASD. Each case was treated with ASO through the percutaneous transcatheter procedure under fluoroscopy and TTE or TEE. Early follow up(3 months) by echo was taken after the intervention. Results There was no difference of mean defect diameter measured by TEE and the balloon-stretched defect diameter of the ASDs between 2 groups. Aim To investigate the effects of dalbinol on proliferation and apoptosis of human colon cancer HCT1 16 cells and its mechanisms.Methods Anti-proliferative effect of dalbinol was evaluated by MTT assay.The morphological changes of apoptosis were observed by Hoechst33342 staining.Apoptotic rate and ROS generation were analyzed by flow cytometry.The related proteins of Wnt/β-catenin pathway and the ap-optosis-associated proteins expression were measured by Western blot.Results The growth of HCT1 16 treated with dalbinol was inhibited in a dose and time dependent manner with IC50 (4.8 ±0.53 ),(2.5 ± 0.43)and (0.6 ±0.22)μmol·L-1 at 24,48 and 72 h,respectively.Typical morphological changes of ap-optosis such as cell shrinkage,karyopyknosis and nu-clear condensation were observed by Hoechst33342 staining.Meanwhile,the apoptotic rate and intracellu-lar ROS generation of dalbinol were both increased dose-dependently. Western blot results showed that dalbinol could activate the expression of cleaved Caspase-3 and cleaved PARP by decreasing anti-apop-totic protein levels such as Bcl-2 and Mcl-1 and in-creasing pro-apoptotic protein levels such as Bax and Bim,which induced further apoptosis.Moreover,dal-binol can reduce the protein expression of the total and nuclear β-catenin,but not cytoplasmic β-catenin by suppressing the protein expression of Dvl-2 and GSK-3β(pS9 ),as well as its target proteins c-Myc and Sur-vivin.Conclusion dalbinol can induce apoptosis in colon cancer HCT1 16 cells by upregulating the intra-cellular ROS generation and suppressing Dvl/GSK-3β/β-catenin pathway.

Objective:To explore whether the limit of "before the equal-diameter period" is reasonable in the current criteria for "Diagnosis of Kashin-Beck Disease" (WS/T 207-2010) in children, and to provide basic data and technical support for revision of the criteria for "Diagnosis of Kashin-Beck Disease" (WS/T 207-2010).Methods:In 2018, the historical Kashin-Beck disease (KBD) areas in Heilongjiang Province were selected as the investigation sites. The right-hand X-ray films of all children aged 7-12 years old were taken. According to the different X-ray manifestations of the growth and development of the phalangeal epiphysis, they were divided into five periods: before the equal-diameter period, equal-diameter period, ultra-diameter period, pre-closure period and closure period. Firstly, after stratifying by basic data such as age and gender, the data were standardized and analyzed. Secondly, the detection rates of metaphysis-epiphysis (CRME) in each period were calculated and compared. Finally, based on the mean value of the detection rate of metaphyseal change in Linkou and Fuyu counties of Heilongjiang Province in 1990, the rates of expected detection and missed diagnosis of metaphyseal changes of KBD among investigated children were calculated and compared under the limitation of before the equal-diameter period, before the ultra-diameter period or age range reduction.Results:A total of 5 019 children were investigated. The proportion of children before the equal-diameter period was 53.94% (2 707/5 019), and that of before the ultra-diameter period was 77.92% (3 911/5 019). The results showed that the equal-diameter period mainly appeared in 7-10 years old, and showed a decreasing trend with the increase of age (χ 2trend = 390.10, P<0.05); the ultra-diameter period mainly occurred in 10-12 years old, showing a decreasing trend with the increase of age (χ 2trend = 65.39, P < 0.05); the pre-closure period mainly occurred in 10-12 years old, with an increasing trend with the increase of age (χ 2trend = 51.86, P<0.05); the closure period mainly occurred in 11-12 years old and increased with age (χ 2trend = 7.58, P<0.05). The CRME of children in ultra-diameter period was 14.78% (158/1 069), however CRME did not occur in children with equal-diameter period. Among children before equal-diameter period, before ultar-diameter period and aged 7-10 years old, the expected detection rates of metaphyseal changes of KBD were 5.90%, 8.53% and 7.42%, respectively. The expected missed diagnosis rates of metaphyseal changes of KBD were 5.06%, 2.45% and 3.52%, respectively. Conclusion:In order to improve the rate of expected detection and lower the rate of missed diagnosis of metaphyseal changes of KBD, children in "equal-diameter period" should be included in X-ray diagnosis and disease monitoring of KBD.

Objective To evaluate the muscle mass in elderly patients with inguinal hernia using CT scan.Methods 30 male (age 70-90 years) hospitalized patients scheduled to receive surgery for inguinal hernia were selected into study group, 10 male health volunteers (40-50 years) were involved in adult control group, and 10 men of the same age as the study receiving annual physical examination were enrolled as elderly control group.General information were recorded;CT scanning of the stomach muscles and thigh muscles were conducted, and the muscle area was calculated using a special software.Results The index of grip strength in the study group was significantly lower than the adult control group [(36.44 ± 14.15) kg vs.(77.30 ± 22.69) kg, P =0.001], the calf circumference in the study group was significantly less than the adult control group [(25.18 ±2.31) cm vs.(27.62 ±2.33) cm, P =0.006].There was no significant difference in L3 abdominal area, subcutaneous fat area, abdominal fat area, and vertical spinal muscular volume between the study group and the adult control group;while the L3 abdominal muscle area and vertical spinal muscular mass was significantly less in the study group than in the adult control group [(12 094.23 ± 1 970.30) mm2 vs.(17462.00±1 600.58) mm2, P=0.001;(1 642.60±266.90) mm2 vs.(2 003.50±350.91) mm2,P =0.007].L3 skeletal muscle index of the study group was 50.64 ±7.52 and 66.7％ (20/30) of the study group had sarcopenia (≤52.4％).The CT findings of abdominal muscle of the study group were not significantly different from those of the elderly control group.The thigh muscle mass in the study group was significantly less than that in the control group (P =0.001), but there was no significant inter-group difference in thigh fat and femur areas (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion The muscle mass and strength in elderly patients with inguinal hernia are significantly lower than those of adult controls, for which CT scan can be applied for assessment.

Objective To explore the relationship between 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3(1,25-VD3)and alveolar fluid clearance(AFC)in mice in vivo,and investigate its effects in the process of lung fluid clearance. Methods KM male mice were treated with active vitamin D analogue parical-citol(daily i.p. injection)for 2 weeks,and then the in vivo AFC of these mice was measured by bovine serum albumin protein assays. western blot was applied to determine epithelial sodium channel protein levels in lungs of these mice. Results In vivo total AFC was 31.9%±3.8%in vitamin D-treated mice,and significantly lower in the vehicle-treated controls(19.7%±1.9%,P<0.05). Amiloride-sensitive AFC was increased approximate-ly 50%by vitamin D. western blot showed that the expression ofα-epithelial sodium channel was significantly elevated in paricalcitol-treated mouse lungs. Conclusion These observations suggest that vitamin D augments AFC in mice,which may be related to the augment of epithelial sodium channel protein expression. The clinical application of vitamin D therapy may ameliorate pulmonary edema of patients.

Objective To evaluate the in vitro antiviral activity of HB-13,a compound derivant from berberine and its prodrug berberine,against herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and type 2 (HSV-2). Methods Vero cells were cultured in vitro and infected with HSV.Then,various concentrations of HB-13, berberine,and aciclovir were used to treat these infected cells.The cytopathic effect was observed to deter- mine the antiviral effects and cytotoxicity of HB-13 and berberine.Results For HB-13,berberine and acy- clovir,the half toxicity concentration (TC_(50)) to Vero cells was 31.99,380 and more than 800?g/mL, respectively;the average half inhibitory concentration (IC_(50)) against HSV-1 was 1.328,more than 100,and 0.443?g/mL,respectively,the treatment index (TI) against HSV-1 was 24.09,less than 3.80,and more than 1805.87,respectively;the IC_(50) against HSV-2 was 1.344,more than 100,and 0.679?g/mL,respectively,the TI against HSV-2 was 23.80,less than 3.80 and more than 1178.20,respectively.Conclusion HB-13 possesses marked antiviral activity against HSV-1 and HSV-2 in vitro,while berberine does not.

Objective To understand the related factors of rabies epidemic and provide the basic data for rabies control and prevention in China by statistic and retrospective analysis of rabies surveillance data in 2010.Methods We used descriptive epidemiology method and statistic analysis to analyze the epidemiological characteristics of rabies in 2010 of China.Results 2048 rabies cases were rabies cases were reported in 817 counties (districts) in 2010,which dropped 7.46％ compares to 2009.The incidences in children and elder people were high; farmers are main occupation of the cases,the male to female ratio of the cases was 2.44:1.Children and older people are higher acquired rabies than other age population.640 cases reported through national rabies sentinel surveillance system,87.50％ cases were caused by exposed to dogs,bite was the main exposure reason.The situation of deposing wounds was poor,and the use of vaccine was still low in individual cases,but in the rabies clinic cases under surveillance,the vaccine usage can reach 98％,the usage of immunoglobulin (RIG) or anti-serum for category Ⅲ exposure in either group cases was not high.Conclusion The epidemic of the rabies in 2010 was eased,Out-patient post-exposure prophylaxis was in good station,but there are still lots of problem existed: post-exposure prophylaxis of individual case was not desirable yet.

This paper proposes a method of automatic ECG analysis and arrhythmia diagnosis for telemonitoring system. A multi-buffer technique is applied to organize dispersive ECG data. Then, according to second order derivatives of ECG signals, peaks of R waves are automatically detected. Finally, real-time heart rhythm is decided by results of R wave detection. Tests prove that the proposed method is precise, efficient and stable to be applied in real-time ECG telemonitoring system.
