Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 2003;0(10):-
Objective Ultra-wideband (UWB) microwave imaging is one of the promising alternatives for breast tumor detection, which can provide the desired high resolution and high sensitivity. Methods For UWB microwave early breast tumor detection, a UWB antenna with small size and compact structure is generally desired. To meet the demands of UWB microwave imaging and detection, a novel compact UWB probe is developed and tested. The probe is a combination of an exponentially-flared TEM horn and a pyramidal back-cavity, where the pyramidal back-cavity is employed to block back and side radiation. To increase the operation bandwidth, a low-frequency compensation loop loaded with resistors and a dielectric material block at the throat of TEM horn are added to the probe. Results The compact probe is fabricated and tested by vector network analyzer E8362B, and the results demonstrate an operation frequency band ranging from 1.36GHz to 20GHz for return loss under -10dB. Conclusion The probe can meet the needs of UWB microwave imaging for the early breast tumor detection.

Objective To investigate the effects of high glucose and insulin on the expression of glucose transporter 4 (GLUT4), Cbl-associated protein (CAP) and cytoskeleton protein F-actin of glomerular mesangial cells (GMCs), in order to explore the function of GLUT4, Cbl-associated protein and F-actin in the pathogenesis and development of diabetic nephropathy (DN). Methods Cultured 1097 rat glomerular mesangial cells were divided into 8 groups: control, 10-9 mol/L insulin, 10-8 mol/L insulin, 10-6 mol/L insulin, high glucose (30 mmol/L), mannitol (25 mmol/L mannitol+5 mmol/L glucose), high glucose plus 10-6 mol/L insulin, high glucose plus 10-9 mol/L insulin. Expression of CAP mRNA and GLUT4 was measured by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry method. F-actin was stained by rhodamine-pholloidin and the fluorescent intensity was calculated by image analysis system. Results The expression of GLUT4 mRNA and protein, CAP mRNA was found in normal giomerular mesangial cells (control), and there was no significant difference in 10-9 mol/L insulin group. The expression of GLUT4 mRNA (P<0.05) and protein (P<0.01), CAP mRNA (P<0.01) level was decreased in high glucose group compared with that of control group, but there was no significant difference in mannitol group. The expression of GLUT4 and CAP mRNA up-regulated with the increase of concentration of insulin. The expressions of GLUT4 mRNA in 10-8 mol/L insulin and 10-6 mol/L insulin groups were 2.06-fold and 2.66-fold of 10-9 mol/L insulin group, of GLUT4 protein were 1.93-fold and 2.83-fold of control, and of CAP mRNA were 1.91-fold and 2.15-fold of control, respectively. The expressions of GLUT4 mRNA, GLUT4 protein, CAP mRNA in high glucose plus insulin group were 2.15-fold, 2.08-fold, 2.14-fold of high glucose group respectively. High glucose decreased the fluorescent intensity of F-actin to 44.5% (P<0.01). 10-8 mol/L insulin and 10-6 mol/L insulin groups increased to 1.224-fold (P<0.05), 1.296-fold (P<0.01) in a concentration-dependent manner. The spearman correlation coefficient between GLUT4 and F-actin was 0.929 (P=0.001), between GLUT4 mRNA and CAP mRNA was 0.905 (P=0.002). Conclusions (1) A certain expression of GLUT4 mRNA and protein, CAP mRNA from GMC is found in normal glomerular mesangial cells. (2) High glucose can inhibit the expression of GLUT4 and CAP mRNA significantly, and facilitate the depolymerization of F-aetin. (3) Insulin can reverse down-regnlation of GLUT4 and CAP mRNA caused by high glucose. (4) GLUT4, CAP and F-actin are important factors in the development of DN.

Objective To evaluate the short-term efficacy of Perigee system in the treatment of anterior pelvic organ prolapse. Methods From October 2012 to September 2014, 59 patients with pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic organ prolapse quantitation system (POP-Q) were diagnosed as anterior pelvic organ prolapse Ⅲ degree and above were performed Perigee anterior pelvic floor reconstruction, while some patients combined with sacrospinous ligament suspension, posterior wall repair or posterior pelvic reconstruction surgery for pelvic prolapses. Pelvic floor distress inventory-short form 20 (PFDI-20), pelvic organ prolapse-urinary incontinence sexual questionnaire-12 (PISQ-12) were evaluated, and postoperative POP-Q were used to analyze the changes of the indexes and postoperative complications. Results In 59 patients, the average operation time was (99±29) minutes, the average intraoperative blood loss was (119± 92) ml. The median postoperative follow-up time of 59 cases was 17.5 months (range:8-30 months), median follow-up time of subjuctive symptoms was 21.2 months (range:11-34 months), the total score of PFDI-20 was compared with the preoperative, and the difference was statistically significant (5.6 versus 27.8, P<0.01). It was statistically significant of PISQ-12 score before and after surgery (34±3 versus 36±4, P<0.05). Short-term anatomical cure rate was 98%(58/59), 1 cases (2%, 1/59) in recurrence, 2 cases (3%, 2/59) of erosion. Conclusion This results show that the Perigee system is effective and reliable in the treatment of anterior pelvic organ prolapse.

OBJECTIVETo compare the difference in the clinical efficacy on perennial allergic rhinitis between three nasal points acupuncture therapy and the oral administration of loratadine so as to provide the better acupuncture program in clinical treatment.
METHODSSixty cases were randomized into an acupuncture group (30 cases) and a medication group (30 cases). In the acupuncture group, acupuncture was applied to three nasal points [Yingxiang (LI 20), Yintang (EX-HN 3), Bitong (Extra)] and acupoints selected by syndrome differentiation. Acupuncture was given once every two days, three times a week, for 4 weeks totally. In the medication group, loratadine was prescribed for oral administration, 10 mg every day, for 4 weeks. The symptom and physical sign scores before and after treatment, as well the short-term and long-term efficacy were compared between the two groups.
RESULTSThe total effective rate was 96.7% (29/30) in the acupuncture group and was 93.3% (28/30) in the medication group after treatment. The efficacy was similar between the two groups (P>0.05). In follow-up, the total effective rate was 86.7% (26/30) in the acupuncture group, which was better than 56.7% (17/30, P<0.05) in the medication group. The scores of symptoms and physical signs after treatment and in follow-up were all reduced apparently as compared with those before treatment in the patients of the two groups (all P<0.05). The scores of symptoms and physical signs were reduced more apparently in the acupuncture group as compared with those in the medication group in follow-up (all P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe acupuncture at three nasal points and the acupoints selected by syndrome differentiation achieves the similar short-term efficacy on perennial allergic rhinitis as compared with the oral administration of loratadine. The acupuncture therapy presents the obvious advantages on long-term efficacy.
