OBJECTIVE:
To evaluate the age, sex, etiology, diagnosis and treatment time of nasal bone fractures.
METHOD:
Clinical data of 202 cases with nasal bone fractures treated in the hospital were retrospectively analysed.
RESULT:
A total of 202 cases,163 men (80. 7%) and 39 women (19. 3%). Fifty-two patients had a relationship with alcohol consumption, and all of them were males. The most frequent reasons of the injury were fight 46. 5% (94 cases) followed by falling-down 21. 3% (43 cases), traffic accidents 19. 3% (39 cases), works related 6. 5% (13 cases), sport injuries 5. 9% (12 cases) and others 0. 5% (1 cases). Patients distribution in seasons were: spring 54 cases (26.7%), summer 42 cases (20.8%), autumn 58 cases (28.7%), winter 48 cases (23. 8%). Diagnosis of nasal bone fractures were made positively by x-ray films in 79. 7% of cases, but 100% by CT. Positive predictive value of CT was superior to that of X-ray films in the diagnosis of nasal bone fracture.
CONCLUSION
High morbidity of nasal bone fracture was seen in the age group of 20-29 years, and predominantly in male. Fight was found to be the main etiologic factor. We think that CT is necessary for diagnosing nasal bone fracture.

Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery 2012;18(8):627-630
Objective To investigate the role of r-aminobutyric acid B receptor in the development of liver fibrosis. Methods Thirty-two Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were divided into four groups including a control group,a model group,a baclofen group, and a CGP35348 group.Liver fibrosis was then induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4).Baclofen and CGP35348 treatment were carried out after the formation of liver fibrosis, followed by complete extraction of the eyeball to obtain blood sample to test liver function.Liver tissue specimens were cut and stored for histological staining,histochemistry,real-time polymerase chain-reaction (RT-PCR),and western blot analysis. Results Histological staining indicated that the degree of liver fibrosis was more severe in the CGP35348 group than in the baclofen group (P<0.001).The levels of alanine transaminase (ALT),aspartate aminotransferase (AST),gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT),total bilirubin (TBil),and direct bilirubin (DBil) were significantly lower in the baclofen group than in the CGP35348 group (P<0.01).The levels of ALT,AST,GGT,TBil,and DBil were significantly higher in the CGP35348 group than in the model group (P<0.05).Immunofluorescence results show that the hepatic cell migration was inhibited in the baclofen group.Western blot results showed that the expression levels of α-SMA protein were significantly lowered in the baclofen group when compared to that of the CGP35348 group and model group (P<0.01).Conclusion GABAB receptor might play a role in the liver protection by inhibition of migration of hepatic cells in liver fibrosis.Further studies into the mechanism behind this function are further needed and may be a potential source of future anti-fibrotic treatment.

Objective To investigate the reasons and the methods of prevention and cure for serious complications of radiofrequency ablations in the treatments of hepatocellular carcinomas. Methods A total of 410 patients with BCLC at A or B stage of hepatocellular carcinomas in our hospital were enrolled between November 2014 and June 2009. These patients underwent a total of 504 times radiofrequency ablations for the treatments of liver lesions. This retrospective study analysed the reasons and the strategies of prevention and cure for the serious complications. Results In the patients with a total of 504 times radiofrequency ablations, 2 patients had massive hemorrhage caused by puncture injuries, 2 patients had the tumors which were close to the liver capsules and 1 patient had bile peritonitis caused by the injury of thermal ablation on the gallbladder. The maximum diameter of tumor was 5 cm. That tumor was close to the gallbladder. 2 patients had needle tract metastases caused by incompletely needle path ablations. 1 of the 2 patients had a tumor near the liver capsule, and the other patient had un-enough temperature for needle path ablation. Tumor outbreaks were happened in 2 patients. 1 of the 2 patients had a tumor which was located in the liver capsule and close to the portal vein. The other patient had a 12 cm diameter tumor with rich blood supplement. 2 patients had liver abscesses. 1 of the 2 patients had a tumor near the ascending colon, and the other patient had diabetes. 1 patient had colonic perforation caused by thermal ablation. The tumor in that patient was located in the right hepatic lobe segment and adjacent to the ascending colon. The incidence of serious complications was 1.98% (10/504). Conclusions The incidence of the serious complications of radiofrequency ablations for the treatments of hepatocellular carcinomas is relatively low. The main reasons for the serious complications were direct injuries caused by punctures, heat radiation injuries, tumors adjacent to large blood vessels, gallbladders and intestines, tumors with abundant blood supplement, needle paths fail to cross normal liver tissues, low scores of liver function, weak immune system and diabetes. The key points for avoiding and reducing the serious complications are preoperative evaluations of patients' basic situations, choices of appropriate puncture channels and control ranges of ablations when tumors are close to important blood vessels, intestines and gallbladders.

Objective To investigate the change rules and its significance of erythrocytes surface molecule CD35 , CD58 and CD59 expression in recipients infected with cytomegalovirus (CMV)after renal transplantation. Methods Eighty-two recipients undergoing allogeneic renal transplantation were selected and divided into the negative (n=21 )and positive CMV groups (n=61 )based on the qualitative detection of CMV-pp65 antigen in peripheral blood. According to the results of CMV-pp65 (+)leucocyte count, all 61 patients in positive CMV group were further divided into low (n=55)and high active infection subgroups (n =6 ). Healthy adults were recruited into the normal control group (n =30 ). The expression levels of CMV-pp65 antigen, erythrocytes surface molecule CD35,CD58 and CD59 were measured by flow cytometry. Results Compared with normal control group, the expression levels of erythrocytes surface molecule CD35 , CD58 and CD59 in the positive CMV group were significantly down-regulated,and the CD35 and CD59 expression in the negative CMV group were considerably down-regulated (all P<0. 05 ). Compared with negative CMV group, the expression levels of CD58 and CD59 in the positive CMV group were significantly down-regulated (both P<0. 05 ). The expression levels of CD35 and CD59 in the high active infection subgroup were significantly lower than those in the low active infection subgroup (both P<0. 05 ). Conclusions The more severe active CMV infection after renal transplantation, the lower expression of erythrocytes surface molecule CD35,CD58 and CD59,hinting that red cell immune dysfunction is probably involved with active CMV infection.
