1.Application of problem-based learning in experimental teaching of medical statistics for medical undergraduates
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2006;0(09):-
Objective To study on application of problem-based learning in experimental teaching of medical statistics for medical undergraduates and to improve the quality of experimental teaching in medical statistics. Methods 72 medical undergraduates were selected at random. They were devided into the PBL group and the control group were observed for a term. Results The comparison of a questionnaire showed a clear preference for PBL group over the control group. Most of the constituent ratios in the PBL group were higher than the control group, showing significant difference(P
2.Patterns and function of medical undergraduates' community practice teaching
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2014;(8):786-789
With the deepening of the reform of medical system in China and the transforma-tion of modern medical model , cultivating graduates with community service ability is an important task of medical education at present. Through practice activities by forming an undergraduate medical service team, such as community residents health survey, free clinics, health care propaganda, will enhance the students' sense of responsibility and community identity, cultivate their clinical and sci-entific thinking ability and enhance their self-confidence, self-study ability, communication skills and comprehensive quality. It will also promote the community residents to improve the level of health.
3.Qualitative Study of Growth Process for People with Spinal Cord Injury
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2015;(12):1451-1456
Objective To explore the adjustment and posttraumatic growth of people with spinal cord injury from the community. Meth-ods From January 2013 to May 2015, Semi-structured in-depth interviews were used to interview 12 participants with spinal cord injury from Sunshine Rehibilation Center. Interviews were recorded on audio-tape with participants' permission and then transcribed verbatim. The transcribed interviews were analyzed according to interpretative phenomenological analysis. Results 3 superordinate themes emerged includ-ing struggling in despair, disentangling from the shadow of disability and continuing with life as normal, facing challenge and achieving pos-itive growth. Conclusion It is necessary to explore the process of adjustment and posttraumatic growth of people with spinal cord injury, which contribute to understand their psychological experience, psychological feature, and coping strategies, promote their physical and psy-chological recovery, and provide theory and practice guidance for family and society re-integration.
5.A brief introduction to Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation II.
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2012;10(2):160-5
Clinical practice guidelines play an important role in practitioner and patient decisions regarding appropriate clinical health care and in health policy formation. In the guideline development process, inappropriate methodologies and development strategies significantly influence the quality of guidelines; therefore, research and evaluation of guidelines have great significance. The original Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation (AGREE) instrument was published in 2003 by a group of international guideline developers and researchers. AGREE has important significance for the quality guarantee and successful implementation of guidelines, and has extensively achieved endorsement since 2003. In 2009, The AGREE Collaboration has developed the AGREE II by refining the original AGREE instrument. At present, the AGREE II has already replaced the original AGREE instrument; however, related introduction regarding AGREE II has not been found in China. The authors of this article briefly introduce the AGREE II, and believe that it will add value to research and evaluation of the guidelines as a whole.
6.An innovated surgical strategy of coronoid process fracture combined with ipsilateral zygomatic arch fracture
Chongqing Medicine 2015;(28):3969-3970,3974
Objective To explore an effective and safe therapeutic strategy in the treatment of coronoid process fracture com‐bined with ipsilateral zygomatic arch fracture .Methods Through the semi coronoid scalp incision ,`an open reduction and internal fixation of zygomatic arch fracture was done .The operation was modified that the area of zygomatic arch fracture was exposed ade‐quately ,and then the fracture fragments of zygomatic arch were turned up .The coronoid process fracture pieces were isolated and removed along with the direction of muscle fibers in the temporalis muscle .Results All Cases of the surgical incisions were healed by primary intention .After 3 - 24 months following up ,the function of mouth opening and closing ,and the other movements of mandible became normal .Conclusion Through the semi coronoid scalp incision ,zygomatic arch fracture reduction and internal fixa‐tion and the coronoid process fracture pieces removing can be done simultaneously .In this way ,an effective and safe therapeutic strategy for treating coronoid process fracture combined with ipsilateral zygomatic arch fracture .
7.Skin toxicities of epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitors
Journal of International Oncology 2012;39(10):784-787
Skin toxicities are the most common adverse effects of epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitors(EGFRI).It can result in significant physical and psyehological discomfort, and even leads to interruption or dose modification, and consequently affect the curative effect. Nowadays this adverse effect has attracted lot of attention. It is proposed that clinical management and treatment measures for skin toxicities should be further studied to improve the patients life quality, and guarantee the continuity and best curative effect of the treatment. But more researches on the pathogenesis and its prognostic significance are still expected.
8.Sequential therapy versus standard triple therapy for duodenal ulcer with Hp infection
Clinical Medicine of China 2011;27(2):159-161
Objective To compare the efficacy of 10-day sequential therapy (including rabeprazole amoxillin clarithromycin tinidazole) and 7-day traditional trigeminy therapy (including rabeprazole amoxillin and clarithromycin) in patients with duodenobulbar ulcer and Hp infection. Methods Ninty-five patients with duodenobulbar ulcer and Hp infection were enrolled into the study and divided into two groups randomly:sequential therapy group and traditional trigeminy therapy group. Patients in the first group received 10-day sequential medications:rabeprazole 10 mg plus amoxillin 1 g for the first 5 days, followed by rabeprazole 10 mg plus clarithromycin 500 mg and tinidazole 500 mg for another 5 days;while in the second group patients received the standard 7-day traditional triple medications:rabeprazole 10 mg plus clarithromycin 500 mg and tinidazole 400 mg. All drugs were given twice daily. All patients received rabeprazole 10 mg daily following the two types of therapys for another four weeks. Hp statuses were assessed by rapid urease test and 14C urea breath test at baseline and 4 weeks after completion of the treatment. Ulcer cicatrization was assessed by gastroscope. Results The eradication rate of Hp infection was significantly higher in sequential group than triple group (89.5%vs. 70. 2%, P < 0. 05 ), but we found no statistically significant difference in the comparison of the ulcer cicatrization rate between sequential group and triple group ( 87.5% vs. 82. 9%, P > 0. 05 ). Conclusion Sequential therapy had a better Hp eradication effect than standard triple therapy, but the eradication rate was very close between the two therapys.
