Objective:To explore the establishment of a scientific research reagent management system based on the combination of centralized procurement and supply in medical university. Methods:This paper analyzed the main modes of purchasing and supply management of scientific and research reagents at present, identified problems and difficulties existed during the implementation of centralized procurement and supply mode. Initiated with two key sectors of procurement and supply, this study explored and practiced a kind of management system of reagents based on "problem-driven" .Results:In the procurement sector, replaced product price with brand discount, increased the number of suppliers according to the consumption of reagents. In the supply sector, a particular agency responsible for quality control and service supervision has been set up. At the same time, through strict import and exit management and supplier management, we have significantly reduced the price of reagents, ensured the quality of reagent supply and after-sales service, strengthened financial supervision. Conclusions:The purchase and supply of scientific research reagents plays an important role in scientific research management. Centralized procurement and supply model can effectively improved the management of scientific research reagents.

Objective To evaluate the association between preoperative serum thyroglobulin concentration and aggressive behavior of papillary thyroid cancer(PTC).Methods A total of 334 PTC patients diagnosed by surgical pathology treated in our hospital from Jan.2013 to Dec.2017 were retrospectively reviewed.Patients were divided into two groups according to Tg levels and clinicopathological characteristics between the two groups were compared.Binary logistic regression analysis was conducted to evaluate the factors influencing extrathyroidal extension and lymph node metastasis of PTC.Results High level of preoperative serum Tg was signifcantly associated with old age, multifocality, larger maximum tumor size, more frequent extrathyroidal extension, lymph node metastasis, and advanced T and TNM stage(P<0.05).Maximum tumor diameter >2 cm(P=0.031) and preoperative serum Tg level >17.21 ng/ml(P=0.028) were independent risk factors for extrathyroidal extension.Maximum tumor diameter >2 cm(P=0.007) and preoperative serum Tg levels >25.40 ng/ml (P=0.016) were independent risk factors for lymph node metastasis, whereas female was a significant protective predictive factor(P<0.001).Conclusion Preoperative serum Tg levels may serve as an independent risk marker for extrathyroidal extension and lymph node metastasis of PTC,and partly contributes to predict aggressive behavior of PTC.

Sesquiterpenoids are natural compounds composed of 15 carbon atoms, which can be divided into sesquiterpene alcohols, ketones, lactones, aldehydes, and carboxylic acids according to oxygen groups. These compounds are widely distributed in nature, and their physiological activities are diverse. For example, many sesquiterpenes with potential anticancer effects have been found for anti-tumor effects, including cytotoxicity, antioxidant, immune regulation, cell proliferation, and so on. In addition, some sesquiterpenoids have good application prospects in antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cardiovascular diseases. Malignant tumors, inflammation, bacterial diseases, and cardiovascular diseases are the main diseases that cause human death, and natural products have unique advantages in the treatment of these diseases. Therefore, the development of new drugs that are easy to promote has become a new research hotspot. In this paper, the sesquiterpenes extracted from the natural components of Chinese herbs and plants with anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-cardiovascular activities, such as Xanthium, Atractylodes, Convolvulus, Acanthium, Ligularia, Artemisia, Ligularia, Ligularia, Labiaceae Mint, Acanthophyllum, Turmeria, Ginger, and other Chinese herbs and plants, were discussed. The biological activities and related mechanisms of this compound were reviewed, which provided a reference for further research and clinical application of sesquiterpenes.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the expression level of COX-2, p16(INK4A) and p53 in patients with classic Hodgkin's lymphoma (cHL), and to evaluate their correlation with prognosis.
METHODSThe clinical data and samples of 52 cHL cases were collected. Immunohistochemical staining was performed to analyze the proteins level mentioned above and in situ hybridization of EBV encoded RNA (EBER) to clarify the tumor EBV infection state. Correlation between the protein expression and prognosis of patients was analyzed.
RESULTSOf 52 cases, the male and female ratio was 1.6∶1, the age was from 22 to 68 years old. All lesions located primarily in lymph nodes. All samples from 52 cases were stained with COX-2, p16(INK4A) and p53, and the positive expression of COX-2 was found in 28 cases (53.8%), that of p16(INK4A) in 25 cases (48.1%)and p53 in 42 cases (80.8%). All patients were divided into two groups according to differences in age (<40 years/ ≥ 40 years), gender (male/female), EBV infection (yes/no), B symptoms (yes/no), and the Ann Arbor staging (Ⅰ-Ⅱ/Ⅲ-Ⅳ), the correlation with COX-2, p16(INK4A) and p53 expression were analyzed, and only p53 expression was correlated with Ann Arbor staging (P=0.027). The statistical analysis of correlations between COX- 2, p16(INK4A) and p53 showed that the expression of COX-2 was strongly correlated with p53 (P=0.008), and p16 (INK4A) was not related to either COX-2 or p53 (P=0.246 and 0.958). Kaplan- Meier univariate OS analysis using SPSS17.0 software showed that only COX-2 expression was an adverse prognostic factor for patients'event free survival (EFS) (P=0.003). Meanwhile COX-2 expression was a unique independent prognostic factor analyzed by COX proportional hazards regression model (HR=0.091, 95% CI 0.017-0.505, P=0.006).
CONCLUSIONThe expression rate of COX-2, p16 (INK4A) and p53 in the cHL were relatively high; and they were not statistically correlated with tumor EBV infection status; the COX-2 positive group had poor prognosis, but only event free survival time becomes statistically significant shorter. COX proportional hazard regression model was used to analyze the COX-2 expression as a independent adverse prognostic factors for EFS.
