35 cases of rotavirus enteritis occurring in months from September to December of 1980 and 1981 were reported. Typical rotavirus particles were found in 35 out of 54 stool specimens examined with electron microscope. The positive rate of EM was 64.8%.The age of the patients was ranged from 4 months to 2 years; 65.7% of them were 6 to 12 months old. There were 22 males and 13 females.The clinical manifestations consisted of diarrhoea, fever(80%), vomiting (62.8%), mild-to-moderate dehydration(85.7%), and metabolic acidosis(37.17%), upper respiratory infection symptoms(4g.57%). In 40% of the cases, the white cells in the feces were increased in number. Secondary bacterial infection occurred in 4 cases( 11%),which was higher than that of other reports.The main route of transmission was fecal-oral; the presence of respiratory symptoms in some patients suggested the possibility of air-borne spreading.The incidence of this disease was low in the new borns. It is most likely that they arc protected with the passive immunity obtained through the placenta. Furthermore, the structural and physiological characteristics of the gastro-intestinal tract of the neonatus are also contributive to reduce the disease in them.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of therapy of nourishing kidney and liver for the treatment of hypomenorrhea with the syndrome of kidney deficiency and liver stagnation. Methods Fifty-one hypomenorrhea patients with the syndrome of kidney deficiency and liver stagnation were randomized into treatment group(N =25) and control group (N = 26). The treatment group was treated with oral use of Yangyin Shugan Capsules (mainly composed of Radix Bupleuri, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, and Fructus Ligustri Lucidi). The control group was given placebo capsules orally. After treatment for 8 weeks , the overall efficiency and therapeutic effect on menstruation of the two groups were evaluated according the changes of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) symptom scores. Results(1) The total effective rate of the treatment group was 84.0％, and that of the control group was 15.4％, the difference being significant between the two groups (P < 0.01). (2) The effective rate on the menstrual volume and menstrual color and texture of the treatment group was 64.0％, 68.0％, and that of the control group was 7.7％, 15.4％ respectively, the difference being significant(P < 0.01). However, the difference of effect on improving menstrual period was insignificant between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion Therapy of nourishing kidney and liver is effective for the treatment of hypomenorrhea with the syndrome of kidney deficiency and liver stagnation, and has obvious effect on improving menstrual volume and TCM symptoms.

Objective · To study the expression of microRNA-143 (miR-143) in human colon cancer and adjacent normal tissues, and to explore its effect on the function of colon cancer cells and downstream target genes. Methods · Lentiviral expression vector of miR-143 was designed and used to stably transfect colon cancer cell lines HCT116 and RKO. Real-time PCR was used to detect the expression of miR-143 in colon cancer, adjacent normal tissues, HCT116 cells and RKO cells infected with lentivirus. The apoptosis ratio of HCT116 cells and RKO cells was detected by Annexin V-APC single staining and flow cytometry. The migration ability of HCT116 cells and RKO cells was detected by Transwell method. The expression of FOSL2 protein was detected by Western blotting assay. Results · The expression of miR-143 in colon cancer tissue was significantly lower than that in adjacent mucosal tissue (0.339±0.454 vs 1.003±0.003) (U=16.000, Z=-4.231, P=0.000). By up-regulation of miR-143, apoptosis rates were significantly higher in HCT116 and RKO cells than those in the negative controls (P=0.000). The count of migrating HCT116 cells in up-regulated group was significantly lower than that in the negative control group (P=0.000). The count of migrating RKO cells in down-regulated group was significantly higher than that in the negative control (P=0.003). By down-regulation of miR-143, the expression of FOSL2 protein was increased. Conclusion · The expression of miR-143 was significantly decreased in colon cancer tissues. Up-regulation of miR-143 can promote the apoptosis rate in both cell lines, and inhibit the migration ability of HCT116 cells. Down-regulation of miR-143 could promote the migration ability of RKO cells. By inhibiting miR-143, the expression of FOSL2 protein in colonic cancer cells would be increased.

Objective To understand the differences of competency assessment of residents from the hospital director of clinical departments and resident physicians and to explore residency training mode for future ability training of the residents .Methods Study was performed in a third-grade class-A hospital in Beijing to understand the difference of capacity ,creativity evaluation be-tween the directors of clinical department and resident physicians through a questionnaire survey and statistical analysis .Results Results showed no statistically significant differences between the directors of clinical department and resident physicians in com-puter application ,and the remaining capacities were lower in the directors of clinical department than in the resident physicians .Be-sides ,the resident physicians hold that the residents were poor in research capacity ,creativity and legal awareness .Conclusion The study prompts us to strengthen the clinical expertise and skills training of residency ,also we should pay attention to the training of comprehensive ability .

Objective Discuss the treatment mechanism of Xiaofeng Xuanqiao Decoction on guinea pig with al ergic rhinitis. [Methods]Sixty guinea pigs were randomized into 6 groups: normal control group, al ergic rhinitis(AR) group, high-dosage, equivalent-dosage, low-dosage Xiaofeng Xuanqiao decoction group, and loratadine group. AR guinea pig model was successful y established by ovalbumin(OVA) chal enge method. Xiaofeng Xuanqiao decoction and loratadine were applied to intervene AR guinea pig. The serum levels of IgE and IL-4, IFN-γ, histamine were determined by ELISA methods. [Results]The expression levels of IgE and IL-4, histamine significantly increased,meanwhile the level of IFN-γsignificantly lower compared with the normal group(P<0.01). Compared with that in AR model group, the serum level of IgE and IL-4, histamine in high-dosage Xiaofeng Xuanqiao decoction group significantly decreased,but the level of IFN-γ increased(P<0.01); the levels of IgE and IL-4, histamine decreased in other medication groups, meanwhile the level of IFN-γ increased compared with the model group(P<0.05).[Conclusion]Xiaofeng Xuanqiao can promote the produce of IFN-γ, inhibit the formation of IL-4, promote the secretion of Th1/Th2 cytokines to restore balance, to relieve eosinophil activation, reduce the synthet-ic of IgE, reduce the release of histamine, in many ways to prevent al ergic rhinitis inflammation, to achieve therapeutic effect.

Objective To investigate the effect of hyperbaric oxygen ( HBO) preconditioning on activation of plasma protein C in a rat model of asphyxial cardiac arrest?resuscitation. Methods A total of 105 adult male Sprague?Dawley rats, aged 70-90 days, weighing 260-320 g, were randomly divided into 3 groups: cardiac arrest group ( group CA, n=5) , cardiac arrest?resuscitation group ( group CA∕R, n=50) , and hyperbaric oxygen preconditioning group ( group H, n=50 ) . Cardiac arrest was induced by campling the endotracheal tube at the end of expiration. The animals underwent HBO preconditioning once a day for 3 consecutive days before cardiac arrest was induced in group H. The rats were placed in the HBO chamber, 10 min later the pressure was increased at a constant rate until the hyperbaric oxygen reached 2 atmosphere absolute, and maintained at this level for 45 min, after the oxygen concentration>95%, and then the pressure was decreased at a constant rate ( within 20 min) until the normal pressure was reached. The rats underwent no resuscitation in group CA. Five rats were selected from CA∕R and H groups at 3, 6, 12 and 24 h after restoration of spontaneous circulation, and at 30 min of cardiac arrest in group CA, and blood samples were taken from the abdominal aorta for determination of the plasma activated protein C ( APC) concentrations. The time from asphyxia to cardiac arrest, time for spontaneous regular cardiac rhythm, and successful resuscitation were recorded. Results Compared with group CA, the plasma APC concentrations were significantly decreased at each time point after restoration of spontaneous circulation in CA∕R and H groups ( P<0.05) . Compared with group CA∕R, the time from asphyxia to cardiac arrest was significantly prolonged, the time for spontaneous regular cardiac rhythm was shortened, the success rate of resuscitation was increased, and the plasma APC concentrations were increased at each time point after restoration of spontaneous circulation in group H ( P<0. 05 ) . Conclusion HBO preconditioning can promote activation of plasma protein C after resuscitation in a rat model of asphyxial cardiac arrest, and is helpful in improving hypercoagulation.

Objective To explore the treatment method and curative effect for lower limb varicose vein or swelling secondary to Cockett syndrome. Methods From March 2014 to March 2015,a total of 25 cases of lower limb varicose vein (22 cases)or swelling (3 cases)secondary to Cockett syndrome were treated with percutaneous transluminal angiography (PTA).Stents were placed in the veins in 19 cases,and 22 patients with varicose veins were treated with the great saphenous vein high ligation and point type stripping at secondary stage. Results The operations were successful.The iliac vein PTA was performed in all the 25 patients.The iliac vein stent implantation was performed in 17 cases of varicose veins and 2 cases of lower limb swelling.The saphenous vein high ligation and point type stripping was performed in 22 cases of varicose veins of lower extremity at 1 month after the interventional treatment.Postoperatively,no complications such as lower limb swelling,infection,or deep vein thrombosis occurred.Follow-up at the first postoperative month showed 20 cases of cured and 5 cases of alleviated.Follow-up for 3 -15 months (mean,12.4 months)in the 25 cases showed no lower limb swelling,recurrence of varicose vein,or deep vein thrombosis. Conclusions Cockett syndrome patients can be treated with iliac vein PTA.Whether or not a stent placement is required is determined according to the extent of vein stenosis.Postoperatively,lower limb swelling can be significantly alleviated.For patients with secondary varicose vein of lower extremity,saphenous vein ligation and point type stripping is recommended after 1 month.

Objective To detect the serum estrogen level in women with involution al depression (ID) and to study the effect of estrogen on the occurrence of ID. Methods Serum estrogen levels at 7:00 am were detec ted by r adioimmunoassay in 40 normal menopausal women (Group A) and 49 cases of ID (Grou p B), and compared with those of 36 cases previously detected. Results Estro gen level was much lower in Group B than Group A (P 0.05 ). Co nclusion The occurrence of ID in menopausal women may be related to t he decrease of estrogen level, but the specific correlation of the above two has not been proved yet.
