1.A survey of HIV/ HCV co-infection among drug addicts in Urumqi City

Objective To survey the incidence of HIV/HCV co-infection and its epidemiological characteristics among drug addicts in Urumqi City.Methods From June to November,2007,1000 blood samples were collected sequentially from the drug addicts,who were admitted to Urumqi City Detoxification Center,for HIV and HCV detection by ELISA.The tests for screening,reexamination and confirmation were carried out under the guidance of the instruction for the use reagent rigorously,and the results were assessed according to corresponding technical regulation issued by authorities.The surveillance registration tables of drug addicts were filled for statistical study and analysis.Results The infection rates of HIV and HCV among 1000 drug addicts were 26.3% and 72.3% respectively.The co-infection rate of HIV/HCV was 25.5%.96.9% of HIV positive addicts were co-infected with HCV.There were significant differences in the infection rates of HIV,HCV and HIV/HCV co-infection between intravenous drug users and non-intravenous drug users.There were significant differences in the infection rates of HIV,HCV and HIV/HCV co-infection between Uygur and drug addicts of other ethnics.Conclusions A high co-infection rate of HIV/HCV exists in the drug addicts of Urumqi City,and even worse is that most HIV positives have co-infected with HCV.The infection rates of HIV,HCV and HIV/HCV co-infection in intravenous drug users are obviously higher than that in non-intravenous drug users.The infection rates of HIV,HCV and HIV/HCV co-infection in Uygur drug addicts are higher than that in other ethnics.
2.Monitoring depth of anesthesia and effect analysis in primary visual cortex of rats based on complexity of local field potential.

In the present study carried out in our laboratory, we recorded local field potential (LFP) signals in primary visual cortex (V1 area) of rats during the anesthesia process in the electrophysiological experiments of invasive microelectrode array implant, and obtained time evolutions of complexity measure Lempel-ziv complexity (LZC) by nonlinear dynamic analysis method. Combined with judgment criterion of tail flick latency to thermal stimulus and heart rate, the visual stimulation experiments are carried out to verify the reliability of anesthetized states by complexity analysis. The experimental results demonstrated that the time varying complexity measures LZC of LFP signals of different channels were similar to each other in the anesthesia process. In the same anesthesia state, the difference of complexity measure LZC between neuronal responses before and after visual stimulation was not significant. However, the complexity LZC in different anesthesia depths had statistical significances. Furthermore, complexity threshold value represented the depth of anesthesia was determined using optimization method. The reliability and accuracy of monitoring the depth of anesthesia using complexity measure LZC of LFP were all high. It provided an effective method of realtime monitoring depth of anesthesia for craniotomy patients in clinical operation.

3.Survey on cognition status about AIDS prevention knowledge of urban and rural residents in Xinjiang Yili state

Objective To understand cognition status about AIDS prevention knowledge of urban and rural residents in Xinjiang Yili state ,and to provide a scientific basis for formulating measures of AIDS publicity ,education ,prevention and control for the fu-ture .Methods For simple random sampling with Database of country infectious diseases special projectsthat Yili state has been successfully uploaded ,obtain the required sample ,then conducted questionnaire survey .Results In 1 101 respondents ,cognition rate about AIDS prevention knowledge of urban and rural residents was 79 .02% ,the higher level regions of AIDS epidemic classifi-cation ,respondent in the higher cognition rate ;the cognition status about blood transmission ,mother-to-child transmission was bet-ter ,the sexual transmission was poorer .Male ,16 to 30 years old ,Uygur ,the higher education level of respondents ,AIDS prevention knowledge in relatively good condition status .Conclusion The cognition status about AIDS prevention knowledge in Xinjiang Yili state basic meet the national standards ,but remains to be improved .We should enhance AIDS prevention knowledge education cope with high age group ,Kazakhs and other ethnic minorities ,low education level of the respondents ,it should also focus on strengthe-ning the publicity education and proper guidance with non-transmission .According to different popular level classification ,publicity and education should be carryed out combined with local actual formulation is more advantageous to measure .
4.Clinical characteristics and correlative factors analysis of ANCA-associated vasculitis with interstitial lung disease

Objective To understand the clinical characteristics and correlative factors of ANCA-associated systemic vasculitis with interstitial lung disease.Methods Seventy-five AASV patients in Shanghai Renji Hospital from January 2010 to June 2013 were selected.The clinical data of those cases with interstitial lung disease were analyzed retrospectively and logistic regression model was applied to analyze the correlative factors.Results Of the 75 AASV patients,52% were male,48% were female,and the average age was (56±19) years.Forty-four cases were defined as interstitial lung disease.Among patients with interstitial lung dis-ease,31 (70%) cases were chronic onset,32(72%) cases had pulmonary infection and 8 (18%) cases died.The main chnical manifestations were dry cough,shortness of breath after labour and fever,the proportion was 68%,36% and 50% respectively.Irregular linear shadow was the main imagine changes,the rate was 55%.Pulmonary function changes varied in degrees with diffusion capacity reduction.Multivariate logistic regres-sion analysis showed that those who were older than 60 years (OR=3.44,95%CI:1.05-11.28),positive for MPO-ANCA (OR=3.7,95%CI:1.10-12.65) and Birmingham vasculitis activitv score higher than15 (OR=3.67,95%CI:1.21-11.15) were more likely to have interstitial lung disease.Conclusion Interstitial lung disease is one of the common pulmonary damages of ANCA-associated systemic vasculitis and it will lead to death because of respiratory failure or secondary pulmonary infection.Those who are elders,with positive MPO-ANCA,and with active disease are at high risk for interstitial lung disease among AASV patients.The results of this study sugest that clinicians should pay more attention to patients with these high risk factors.
5.Effect of replacing bovine with tractors for farming on schistosomiasis control in Xuancheng City

Two villages including a pilot village and a control village in Xuaneheng City were selected.An integrated measure including replacing bovine with tractors for farming,renovating of latrines and water supply,egarRination and treatment of schistosomiasis in humans,snail survey and control,health education wag implemented in the pilot village,while the sarIIe integrated measure except replacing bovine with tractors was implemented in the control village.From 2005 to 2007.the infection rate of snails in the pilot Villge reduced from 0.0630% to 0.but that increased from 0 to 0.000 2% in the control village.Theinfection rates of schistosome in humans in the pilot and control villages reduced by 71.10% and 74.20%.respectively.It is indicatedthat replacing bovine with tlactors for farming Pan decrease the infection rate of schistosome in humans and snails effectively.
6.Development of a portable high-power light-emitting diode phototherapy system for neonatal jaundice.

Our group have introduced a portable light emitting diode (LED) phototherapy system for treating neonatal jaundice. The device selects blue narrow-band LED as the light source, driven by MAX5035. The light intensity is linearly adjusted as the alteration of the pulse-width modulation signal, controlled by ATmega16L, and the value can be displayed in LCD12864. The device breaks the bonds of traditional phototherapy, it features small size and can provide an intense irradiance-controlled treatment as it's needed.

7.Study on determination conditions for lymphocytic proliferation by CCK-8 method in mice

Objective To study the optimum determination conditions for lymphocytic proliferation by CCK-8 method in mice.Methods To study the different influence factors of spleen cell proliferation experiment stimulated by mitogen concanavalin A (ConA) or lipopolysaccharide (LPS),including cell preparation method,lymphocytic density,FBS and stimulating agent concentration in culture medium,and stimulating immediately or 24 h after preparing cell,with cross design or two factor completely randomized design.Results Spleen lymphocytic proliferation rate of preparation method by light suppression was higher than that of the light grind.The appropriate concentration of spleen cells was 5 × 106/mL.The proliferation rate has no significant difference after being stimulated for 48 or 72 h by ConA (2,5,or 1 0 μg/mL) or LPS (10,20,or 50 μg/mL) under 10%,15%,or 20% FBS concentration in culture medium.The proliferation rate of stimulating immediately after preparing cell was higher than that of 24 h after preparing cell.Conclusion The optimum conditions of Balb/C mouse spleen cell proliferation assay stimulated by ConA and LPS are as follows:preparation of spleen cells with light pressure,spleen cell concentration of 5 × 106/mL,direct stimulation with 2-10 μg/mL ConA or 10-50 μg/mL LPS in the day of preparation.
8.Establishment and Pathological Evaluation of an Acute Cerebral Infarction Model for Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Study

Objective To establish a stable and feasible animal model of acute cerebral infarction,and to evaluate it with functional magnetic resonance imaging and pathology.Methods Twenty-five S-D rats were randomly divided into five groups,and there were 5 rats in each group.Rats in group A were sham-operated for control study.Unilateral middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) was performed with improved thread in group B,C,D,E and were enrolled for MRI and MRS study at 3,6,12,24 hours after MCAO.All rats were examined by 1-hydrogen magnetic resonance spectroscopy(~1H MRS).Two or three rats in each group were sacrificed for 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride(TTC) staining of the brain and two rats for pathological examination after MRS.Results Rats in group A showed no change in brain on ~1 H MRS or pathological study.~1H MRS of the rat brains after right MCAO showed a decrease of N-acetyl-aspartate(NAA),an increase of Lactate(Lac) in all groups.There was no significant change of Choline(Cho) and Creatine(Cr) peaks onrats in group B,C,D.The peaks of Cho and Cr were slightly dropped in group E.Conclusion The acute regional cerebral ischemic model in rats made by our approach is stable and reproducible,and it is suitable for evaluation and study with functional magnetic resonancespectroscopy accurately and sensitively.
9.Exploration on the Famous Old TCM Doctor Wang Xingkuan’s Rules of Syndrome and Treatment of Chest Blocking and Heartache Based on Data Mining

Objective To explore Wang Xingkuan’s rules of syndrome and treatment of chest blocking and heartache (Xiongbixintong).Methods Collection of professor Wang Xingkuan’s 267 consilia of patients with Xiongbixintong for outpatients. Chinese medicine terminology was regulated and Excelldatabase was established. Symptom, syndrome element, pathogenesis and treatment were statistically described by using Weka3.6 software, and Apriori algorithm was adopted for the main pathogenesis→treatment analysis of association rules.Results Symptoms include:chest pain, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, pale tongue (dark) red, etc. Syndrome elements include:in liver, and heart, and blood stasis, phlegm, qi stagnation, etc. The key pathogenesis is liver-heart imbalance, including stagnation of liver qi, heart and blood stasis, deficiency of heart qi-ying, disturbing heart-mind, etc. The principle of treatment is liver-heart Tongzhi, so the treatment is of“liver” with Shu gan-mu;treatment of“heart” contains freeing channels, eliminating phlegm and blood stasis, quiet the heart, replenishing qi-ying, etc. The main pathogenesis related credibility→treatment was higher than 0.50;with high reliability, the liver-heart imbalance→liver-heart Tongzhi was 0.71. Medication includes catharsis and tonic,“catharsis” to salvia, allium macrostemon, pseudo-ginseng, bupleurum, etc;“tonic” to white ginseng, ophiopogon japonicus, radix paeoniae alba, poria with hostwood, polygala tenuifolia, etc. Conclusion “Xintongzhigan, liver-heart Tongzhi, catharsis and tonic” is Wang Xingkuan’s thoughts and experience in treating Xiongbixintong.
10.The characteristics of drug resistant relevant genes in multidrug-resistant and extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis by fast molecular assay

ObjectiveTo analyze the characterstics of phenotype and genotype of multidrug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) and extensively drug resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB) by molecular line probe assay and liquid culture with MGIT960.MethodsGenoType MTBDR Kits were used for identifying the types of the first-line and second-line antituberculosis drug resistant genes partly and BD MGIT960 was used for detecting the chug susceptibility.Results( 1 ) Out of 94 MDR-TB strains,the rate of drug resistant to EMB,AMK,OFX and MFX by BD MGIT960 assay were 36.2%,17.0%,54.3% and 55.3%,respectively.Among these isolates,13 were extensively drug resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB).(2) Compared with MGIT960,the concordance rate of GenoType MTBDRplus was 86.2% and 95.7% respectively.Taking MGIT960 results as reference,the sensitivity of GenoType MTBDRsl detecting the susceptibility of EMB,AMK,OFX and MFX to 94 isolates were 47.1%,81.3%,94.1%,94.2%,respectively.The specificity were 75.0%,98.7%,90.7%,92.9%,respectively.(3) Among the rpoB mutation categories,S531L accounts for most.MTB resistant to IFN caused by the mutation of katG chiefly and the S315T1 was in the majority.The gyrA mutation sites located at the ninety-fourth codon most.Out of 94 strains,23 were mixed with 2 kindsof Mycobacterium tuberculosis at least and 7 were undetectable mutations.Conclusion Among the M/XDR-TB,the strains resistant to INH,RFP,AMK,OFX and MFX were caused most by the mutation of katG,rpoB,rrs and gyrA,respectively.The relationship between EMB and embB was not so clear relatively.As a fast detecting drug susceptibility test kit,GenoType MTBDR possess good sensitivity and specificity.So,it could be as an assistant method to guide the therapy on clinic.
