OBJECTIVE: To study the effect of compound glycyrrhizin on hepatic function and hepatic fibrosis of patients with chronic hepatitis B. METHODS: 33 patients with chronic hepatitis B were injected i.v with 80ml compound glycyrrhizin q.d for 4 weeks. The hepatic function, hepatic fibrosis of patients and the clinic effects before and after treatment were observed. RESULTS: The total effective rates for patients with mild, moderate and severe degrees were 100%, 92.3% and 91.7%, respectively. There were significant differences in alanine aminotransferase, total bilirubin(P

Objective To study the expression level of PKM1 and PKM2 in colorectal cancer tissue and explore the relationship between colorectal cancer progression and their expression level. Methods The PKM1 and PKM2 protein expression levels in colorectal cancer tissues and adjacent tissues to carcinoma were determined by Western blot and Immunohistochemisty method, and the relationship with colorectal cancer were discussed. Results Western blot and Immunohistochemisty results all showed that, compared with adjacent noncancerous, the protein level of PKM1 decreases significantly in cancer tissues (P<0.05), while the protein level of PKM2 increases significantly in cancer tissues (P<0.05).The protein level of PKM1 is not relative with age,sex and stage of patients, but the protein level of PKM2 is relative with pTNM(P<0.05).Conclusion Colorectal cancer tissues with low level of PKM1 and high level of PKM2, and PKM2 was related with TNM of patients.

To identify the isolated suspicious strain of Campylobacter jejuni from the blood of bacteremia patient in Guizhou Province ,China ,conventional and molecular techniques (specific mPCR and NAP-mPCR) were used to identify suspi-cious bacteria strains .Results showed that Campylobacter jejuni suspicious colonies were cultured in bacteremia patient blood samples .The strain was identified as Campylobacter jejuni ssp . jejuni by conventional tests and was identified as Campy-lobacter jejuni by genus specific mPCR .Then the strain was classified as Campylobacter jejuni ssp . jejuni by subspecies NAP-mPCR .The strain was identified as Campylobacter jejuni ssp .jejuni isolated from the blood of bacteremia patient and Campylobacter jejuni can be identified subspecies by NAP-mPCR .

Objective To observe the alteration of bone metabolism and to study the pathogenesis of osteoporosis and factors in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD). Methods The biochemical markers of bone metabolism, bone mineral density (BMD) of the lumbar spine and the right femur, parameters of calcaneal quantitative ultrasound(QUS), blood partial pressure and pulmonary functions in 39 male patients with COPD and 30 controls were measured. Results The broadband ultrasonic attenuation (BUA) and the speed of sound (SOS), BMD of the lumbar spines and the femur were significantly lower than that in control group. The biochemical markers of bone metabolism such as HOP/Cr, Ca/Cr, and PTH in the COPD group was significantly raised than that in control group〔(60 2?7 0)dB/MHz vs (66 5?4 9)dB/Mhz,(1 328 4?41 5)m/s vs (1 505 8?26 9)m/s,23% vs 34%,21% vs25%〕. The serum levels of Testosterone(T) reduced significantly ( P

Objective This study was to examine the expression of tyrosine kinase receptor(TKRs)C-kit,C-abl and PDGFR?,in ovary carcinoma. Methods The expression of C-kit,C-abl and PDGFR? in tumor tissue of 60 specimens of ovary carcinoma and normal fissue of 20 specimens of overy was examined by immunohistochemistry SP method. Results Immunoreactivity was detected in 79% of the tumor to at least one TKR.The total positive expression rate of C-kit,C-abl and PDGFR? in ovary carcinoma was 58.3%,70%,73.3%,respectively.The positive expression rate of C-kit and PDGFR? is significantly higher in tumor tissues than in normal tissues(P

AIM The effect of bifico on experimental hepatic encephalopathy (HE) induced by thioacetamide(TAA) and the possible mechanism of its protective effect were studied. METHODS Experimental hepatic encephalopathy was induced by ig thioacetamide 250 mg*kg-1 successively for two days; bifico was administraed ig once per day for one week before HE induction. RESULTS Compared with control HE rat, Bifico improved rat neuro-reflexes score and hepatic injury grade(P<0.05); thus decreased rat serum ammonium and LPS concentrations, respectively (P<0.05,P<0.01). The preparation slightly increased the ratio of chain amino acid to aromatic amino acid as well as reduced the degree of liver necrosis. CONCLUSION At the dosage of 840 mg*kg-1 ig for one week before liver intoxication, Bifico significantly protects rats from hepatic encephalopathy induced by TAA.

Four crystalline forms of clopidogrel bisulfate were characterized by analytical techniques. Aiming to research the absorption characteristics of clopidogrel bisulfate polymorphs after taken orally by rat, and to estimate the influence of crystal form to pharmacodynamic action, four crystalline forms of clopidogrel bisulfate were administered intragastrically to rats, and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used to measure the contents of clopidogrel bisulfate and its metabolite in rat plasma. The metabolite of clopidogrel bisulfate was detected in rat plasma. There were significant deviations among four crystalline forms in the areas under curve of the metabolite of clopidogrel bisulfate. We concluded that the different crystal forms of clopidogrel bisulfate showed different pharmacokinetic characteristics, which might affect pharmacodynamic action.

Objective To determine whether nitric oxide may result in different effects on cardiac function at the different time points during the course of myocardial ischhemia and reperfusien of rats in viwo, and if so, to investigate the mechanisms involved. Methods Male adult rats were subjected to 30 minutes of myocardial ischemia followed by 5 hours of reperfusien. L-arginine was administrated at a bolus at both 10 minutes before and 50 minutes after reperfusion in early treatment group. The L-arginine was administrated at a bolus at both 3 and 4 hours after reperfusion in late treatment group. The following variables were measured: cardiac hemodynamic parameters, myocardial easpase 3 activity, iNOS and total NO content. Results Compared with vehicle group, administration of L-arginine at early reperfusion markedly reduced myocardial caspase 3 activity, and improved cardiac function. In strict contrast, administration of L-arginine at late reperfusion resulted in a significant increase in myocardial NOx content, myocardial apoptosis, and depressed the cadiac function. Conclusion Timely administration of L-arginine might inhibit apoptosis while late administration of L-arginine might enhance apoptosis.
