Objective To investigate the situation and demands of the nursing services for both urban and rural elderly people with chronic diseases in China,so as to provide basis of establishing the new elderly care mode. Methods 1902 urban and rural elderly with chronic diseases in almost 29 provinces had been enrolled by the convenience and stratified sampling method to complete the investigation. Results The utilization of relevant nursing care and the demand of psychological counseling and hospice care in cities and towns were higher than those of villages. The demand of common chronic diseases in towns were all higher than that in cities and villages. The demand of pain management in cities wee lower than that in towns and villages.73.3% of elderly in the survey will choose community to subsequent recovery after discharge. The physical, psychological health and economic status might be the pivotal factors. Conclusions At present, endowment in community becomes an inevitable trend in China.Meanwhile, there are still lots of problems in our community health care services,so it remind relevant staffs that some measures should be taken to change such situations.

Objective To explore the effects of different concentrations of fluoride, aluminum alone and in combination exposure on mice parietal bone cell subclone 14 (MC3T3-E subclone 14), and to elucidate the pathogenesis of endemic fluorosis. Methods The proliferation of MC3T3-E1 cells exposed to 10-9 -10-3 mol/L NaF alone, 50 ?mol/L NaF and 5 ?mol/L AlCl3 alone and in combination ,was measured by CCK-8, and the change of cell cycle was measured by flow cytometry after treatment with various concentrations of fluoride and aluminum. Results Fluoride alone did not promote osteoblast MC3T3-E1cells proliferation, higher concentration fluoride inhibited MC3T3-E1 cells proliferation. Fluoride and aluminum combined exposure (50 ?mol/L NaF +5 ?mol/L AlCl3) stimulated proliferation of MC3T3-E1 cells (P

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2003;9(11):660-661
ObjectiveTo research the apoptosis of breast cancer cells by application of small direct-current electric field(EF) and its related possible mechanism.MethodsSmall direct-current EFs were applied in human breast cancer cell line MCF7 in vitro to observe the effects on apoptosis of cancer cells by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling(TUNEL)and to detect the mRNA expression of p53, Rb and E2F1 genes by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).ResultsA lot of cancer cells were observed slaughed from culture dish by 200mV/mm of the field strength and the number of the apoptotic cancer cells was gradually significantly increased with the application of EFs(P<0.01). mRNA expression level for p53 and Rb genes was elevated but that for E2F1 gene was decreased overtly in cancer cells exposed to EFs.ConclusionApoptosis of breast cancer cells can be induced by small direct-current EFs and the change for expression of p53, Rb and E2F1 genes may be involved in the mechanism.
