Physiological education should lead the student not only to understand the physiological knowledge itself,but also to comprehend the scientific methodology,scientific thought and scientific spirit.In our teaching process,we introduced some creative work of the famous scientists in the physiological history to stimulate the students' interest and ability on creative scientific thinking and practice.

Objective To analyze the correlation of discomfort experience and factual recollection (FR) in patients of intensive care unit (ICU). Methods Fifty-five ICU patients and 63 ward patients par-ticipated in the study. Standardized questionnaires were used to evaluate all patients" FR and the results underwent analysis. Results The prevalence of recollection of any type of discomfort in the ICU patients was 64%. The presence of an endotracheal tube, pain and hallucinations were identified as sources of dis-comfort.The median score for FR in the ICU patients was 7.25. The median score for FR in the ward pa-tients was 13.50. The difference between them was highly significant (t =3.34, P < 0.01 ). Logistic analysis revealed that discomfort, especially discomfort caused by the presence of an endotracheal tube, pain and hallucinations, was positively related to FR, 0R95%CI (1.2～2.1), P < 0.01. Conclusions The presence of an endotracheal tube, pain and hallucinations were most frequently reported as sources of discomfort in ICU patients and their memory was often impaired. FR and recollection of discomfort appear to be related significantly in ICU patients.

Objective To establish a patient-like human ovary carcinoma/spontaneous metastasis model using orthotopic transplantation of histologically intact tumor tissue. Methods An highly metastatic ovarian tumor line (8910PM: human serum carcinoma of the ovary) previously grown substaneously was transplanted into the ovicapaule using microsurgery technique. Histologically intact human ovary tumor pieces gained from implantation site were passaged between ovicapsules for four generations. Results All mice developed ovary tumors and the metastatic rates were about 50 %. The tumors only metastasized to liver. The earliest appearance of metastasis was 14 days and the average survival period was 20.7 ±4.89 days. The microscopic appearance of the metastases was similar to the tumor observed in the substaneous xenografts and orthotopically transplanted.Chromosomes analysis exhibited the feature of human carcinoma and retained genetic stability during the processes of passage. Conclusion Orthotopic implantation provides a suitable micro-environment in which ovarian cancer can express its intrinsic clinically-relevant properties. This approach is relevant to the spontaneous development of ovarian cancer and is thought to be a useful model for studies of metastatic mechanism and therapy for ovary cancer.

Objective: To construct a high effective eukaryotic expre ss ing vector containing mcpr1 gene. Methods: mcpr1 gene w as amplified by PCR from the plasmid T-easy/ mcpr1, then PCR product was in serted into eukaryotic expressing vector pcDNA3.1/V5-His B. The positive recomb inant was identified by PCR analysis, HindIII and BamHI restriction analysis and Sequence analysis. Results: A 400 bp DNA fragment was amplified from the recombinant. Sequence analysis and restriction digest demonstrated tha t the mcpr1 gene was successfully inserted into pcDNA3.1/V5-His B plasmid. Conclusion: The eukaryotic expressed vector pcDNA3.1/V5-His B/ mcpr1 has been successfully reconstructed.

Objective To approach the relationship of the expression of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)/c-met and clinical characteristics of patients with ovarian tumor. Methods Immunohistochemistry (SABC)was used to detect the expressions of HGF and c-met in different pathology group with ovarian cancer. Objective To study the effects of hypoxia on adhesion and migration of ovarian carcinoma cell line Caov-3 in vitro. Methods The ovarian carcinoma cell Caov-3 was cultured under normoxic condition or in hypoxic condition. In vitro adhesion of Caov-3 on extracellular matrix fibronectin and matrigel was detected using MTT colorimetric assay. In vitro migration of Caov-3 on extracellular matrix matrigel was assayed with cellular migration test. Results In vitro cell adhesion experiment showed that, compared with the control cells, hypoxia increased cell adhesion to extracellular matrix matrigel and fibronectin by 17.1% and 15.2%, respectively. Objective To compare the propagation speed and physical parameters between underwater blast wave and air blast wave. Methods The physical parameters of blast wave were measured by PCB pressure transducers (USA) during underwater and air explosions of 200g, 500g and 1000g TNT respectively. Consequently, the propagation speed, peak overpressure value, positive duration and impulse of blast wave were analyzed. Results Underwater blast wave was characterized by high propagation speed, high peak overpressure value, great impulse, however, short duration. Compared with air blast wave, the propagation speed of underwater blast wave was 3.70-4.30 times higher than that of air blast wave, the peak overpressure value was 227.15-247.86 times higher, and the impulse was 8.48-11.80 times greater than that of air blast wave. Conclusion Underwater blast wave propagates faster than that air blast wave. Meanwhile, it also peoduces higher peak overpressure value and impulse. This result is helpful for the evaluation of injury severity and treatment of underwater blast injury.

Purpose:To explore the expression of metastasis suppressor gene Kai1 in ovarian epithelial tumor and its significance.Methods:The expression of Kai1 protein in 108 samples of epithelial ovarian tumors and 12 of normal ovarian tissues was examined by S-P immunohistochemical staining.Results:The positive rates of Kai1 protein expression among malignant,borderline,benign and normal tumors were 26.6%,71.4%,73.3% and 83.3% respectively. The Kai1 protein expression in malignant tumors was obviously less than that in benign ones ( P 0.05). OBJECTIVE:To develop a HPLC method for the assaying of the principal agent in oxiracetam sodium chloride injection.METHODS:The separation was performed on Intersil CN-3column;the mobile phase was a mixture of acetonitri_ le-water(6∶94)with detection wavelength at214nm,flow rate at0.6ml/min and sample size at5?l under room temperature. RESULTS:The linear correlation of oxiracetam was observed over the concentrations of0.5625to288?g/ml(r=0.9999).The average recovery was99.95%(RSD=1.36%).CONCLUSION:The method is accurate,convenient specific and repro-ducible,and suitable for the determination and quality control of Oxiracetam.

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of D-dimer age-adjusted threshold in elderly patients with Pulmonary thromboembolism(PTE).Methods Collected patients older than 50 years of suspected PTE,who visited Yan′an People′s Hospital and the Hospital Affiliated to Yan′an University from June 2015 to September 2016,using the revised Geneva criteria for clinical probability assessment firstly.The low-risk group was excluded from the study;the patients with moderate-to-high risk were performed D-dimer detection and CTPA.All patients determined both by D-dimer age-adjusted thresholds and traditional thresholds,comparing the diagnostic efficacy of the two methods subsequently.Results 163 patients were diagnosed with PTE by CTPA among the 549 subjects,the positive rate was 29.69％.The diagnostic sensitivity of plasma D-dimer was 83.44％,78.53％,the specificity was 17.88％,31.61％ respectively,the missed diagnosis rate was 16.56％,21.47％,respectively.The misdiagnosis rates were 82.12％ and 68.39％,respectively,and the Younden index was 0.013 2 and 0.101 4 respectively.All subjects were divided into four groups according to age:50-60 years,60-70 years,70-80 years,and equal or greater than 80 years age group.Compared with the traditional threshold,the misdiagnosis rates of the four groups of age-adjusted thresholds decreased by 4.00％,15.70％,21.36％ and 17.39％,respectively and the specificity was increased by 1.23,1.65,2.56 and 3.00 times,respectively.Conclusion The diagnostic accuracy of the age-corrected threshold is higher than the traditional threshold;combined with clinical practice,the optimal threshold is determined by the ROC curve,the clinician can serve as a reference.
