Data acquisition is one of the key links that influencing the quality of clinical research.Electronic data capture system (EDC) embodies the advantages of saving time, manpower and material resources and improving efficiency and reliability by data acquisition.CDISC has established worldwide industry standards to support the electronic acquisition, exchange, submission and archiving of clinical research data. The application of CDISC standards to EDC system is favorable in ensuring the validity and standardization of clinical data. This paper takes the Oracle's OC/ RDC (Oracle Clinical / Oracle Remote Data Capture) system as an example to discuss the application of CDISC standard to EDC system from the two aspects:direct application and indirect application. We suggest that data collection should be taken into account during the design phase of a clinical trial, and the CDISC standard be applied at the CRF design stage.A design for eCRF takes time and effort by the combination of EDC system and CDISC standard, while thoughtless design may collect the wrong data. Therefore,it is suggested that a specialized personnel should be put in charge of eCRF design and maintenance during the operation of EDC system, and a set of standardized eCRFs based on CDISC standard and standard operating procedures should be built in one organization.

Objective To investigate the possible role of valsartan(Val) in transdifferentiation of human renal tubular epithelial cell line(HKC ). Methods HKC cells were divided into four groups: (1) serum-free (negative control); (2) MCP-1 + AAI-treated (positive control); (3) Val-treated alone; (4) Val-inhibition(treated with MCP-1 + AAI + Val). Then the expression of vimentin, ?-smooth muscle actin (?-SMA ) of HKC cells were assessed by indirect enzyme immunohistochemistry (IEI), and the percentage of ?-SMA(+ ) HKC cells was assessed by flow cytometry. Results No difference in expressions of vimentin and ?-SMA by IEI and the percentage of ?-SMA(+ ) HKC cells by cytometry were found between serum-free control HKC cells and Val treated ones. The expressions of vimentin and ?-SMA in positive controls were markedly stronger than negative controls; while these expressions in Val + MCP-1 + AAI-treated HKC cells were less strong than those in positive controls. The percentage of ?-SMA(+ ) HKC cells in the positive controls was significantly higher than that in negative controls(91. 8% vs 3. 1%, P

Objective To evaluate the effects of clinical pathway combined with transitional care implemented by specialty nurses on patients with coronary heart disease after PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) therapy. Methods Totally 124 patients after PCI were divided into the experimental group and the control group with random digit table. Patients in the control group received routine education and follow- up during hospitalization and discharge period. The experimental group received clinical pathway combined with transitional care implemented by specialty nurses based on routine education. The level of patients′knowledge, attitude, practice and risk factors were compared between the two groups 6 and 12 months after discharge. Results There were 55 patients in each group completed the research ultimately. The Coronary Heart Disease Knowledge Questionnaire in the experimental group scored (57.61 ±8.77), (81.27±6.88) and (88.47±6.10),while the control group scored (59.71±7.32),(68.61±7.12) and (76.85±7.70), after repeated measurement analysis of variance, F=74.71, 14.52, P<0.01. The scores of General Self- Efficacy Scale (GSES) and Coronary Artery Disease Self- Efficacy Scale (CSMS) between two groups at three time points showed statistical significance, F=5.40, 14.52, P<0.05 or 0.01. The risk factors of coronary heart disease such as total cholesterol, triacylglycerol, hemoglobin A1c, body mass index, systolic pressure and diastolic pressure were statistically different between two groups except for high density lipoprotein cholesterol and low density lipoprotein cholesterol, F=5.82, 20.32, 4.14, 4.15, 4.99, 7.15, P<0.05 or 0.01. Conclusions Clinical pathway combined with transitional care implemented by specialty nurses can improve the knowledge-attitude- practice level of patients, help to control the risk factors of coronary heart disease. It is an effective heart rehabilitation model for patients after PCI.
