China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(12):-
This article presents the experience ofPhysician-in-charge CHEN Ying-yi in treating maternal-fetal ABO incompatibility from four aspects:cause and pathogenesis ofthe disease, treatment thought, special prescription for the disease alone, and treatment experience.Mrs.CHEN Ying-yi considers the damp, heat and stasis pathogen as key factors ofthe disease, and the deficiency ofthe spleen and the kidney as the fundamental reasons. The principle oftreatment is eliminating pathogenic factors and supporting healthy energy, and treating the disease and preventing abortion. Her empirical prescription of‘lianhuang tang(decoction oflotus receptacle and prepared rhubarb )', modified in accordance with the symptoms, has obtained very good curative effect for the treatment ofthis disease.
3.Characteristic of children’s EEG complexity at different ages and in different states
Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2003;0(05):-
Objective: To study characteristics of children's EEG complexity at different ages and in different physiological states. Methods: The continuous 24 hour EEG recordings were obtained from 16 electrodes in 45 essential healthy children between the ages of 0 to 15 years. EEG complexity was analyzed by non linear measure in 7 states: awake with eyes opened, awake with eyes closed, NREM (nonrapid eye movements) sleep including stages ⅠandⅡ (light sleep), ⅢandⅣ(deep sleep) and REM (rapid eye movements) sleep. Meanwhile, the correlation was analyzed between complexity and ages. Results: (1)The global EEG complexity in state of being awake with eyes opened was greater than that with eyes closed;that in wakefulness state was greater than in sleep state. The EEG complexity gradually decreased with the increase of deep sleep in NREM sleep state. The complexity in REM sleep state was greater than that in deep sleep state, but lower than in wakefulness state. (2) The global EEG complexity was positively related to ages in state of being awake with eyes opened, state of being awake with eyes closed, light sleep, and not related to ages in deep-sleep state and REM sleep state.(3)In every brain area EEG complexity was positively related to ages in state of being awake with eyes closed .In paracentral region EEG complexity was positively related to ages in states of being awake with eyes opened and light sleep. Conclusion: The EEG complexity was used to study the brain dynamical characteristics in different physiology states and the relationship between encephalic electric activity and brain development. It can be used as an objective index to evaluate the function and development of brain.

This article introduces the experience of CHEN Ying-yi, chief physician and one of the teacher of the fourth group of inheriting academic experience of veteran TCM experts of China, in treating perimenopausal women’s dysfunctional uterine bleeding. Chen holds that the basic pathogenesis of perimenopausal dysfunctional uterine bleeding is kidney deficiency with fever or stagnation. Treatment should focus on replenishing kidney and using the traditional Chinese drug by stages. The methods of stopping bleeding, clearing origin and reinstating the status quo are used flexibly. In clinic, it should grasp the key points of syndrome differentiation, and modify the therapy in accordance with the symptoms. Validated by clinical application, Chen’s experience has satisfactory curative effect and reference values for the treatment of perimenopausal women’s dysfunctional uterine bleeding.

Objective To study microcirculation of acute pancreatitis(AP)in vivo with confocal la-ser endoscopy(CLE).Methods Thirty-two SD rats were randomly divided into 2 groups,I.e.control(n=8)and experiment group(n=24).In the control group, pancreas were identified, the blood was collectedfrom the inferior vena cava,0.5%uranin was administered at 4 ml/kg intravenously, and the pancreas were observed through CLE.In the experiment group,AP model was established by ligation of the end of common bile duct. The abdomen was opened to observe the pancreas at 12 h(n=8),24 h(n=8)and 48 h(n=8), uranin was administered intravenously, and the pancreatic tissue was observed through CLE.Pancreatic tis- sue in each group was sent for pathological study. Results Both healthy and affected pancreatic microcircu- lation can be viewed through CLE.The number of red blood cells can be counted within certain period of time cross-sectionally.In 12 h group, the construction of pancreatic acini was normal, and the flow of red blood cells could be seen in the capillary, but quite slow.In 24 h group, the structure was vague, but there were still normal pancreatic acini less visible capillaries and less and slower red blood cells flow were ob- served. In 48 h group, some pancreatic acini were not visible, normal pancreatic acinar structure and micro- circulation could not be observed, neither could red blood cells.Insulin tissue, white blood cells and micro- thrombosis could not be observed through CLE.ConclusionCLE is distinctly valuable for pancreatic mi- crocirculation study, especially for AP microcirculation in vivo. However, color developing agents and image processing techniques should be improved to ensure better images and better application.

BACKGROUND: Some scholars thought that social support is one of the key factors in determining self-esteem, and most scholars thought that subjective support is more meaningful than objective support. Yet on the domain of social support, Chinese scholars still put forward a problem about utilizations of social support besides subjective and objective support. However, how is the relationship between self-esteem and social support, especially the utilizations of social support in college students?OBJECTIVE: To probe into relationship between self-esteem and social support of college students and understand self-esteem and social support status of them.DESIGN: Cluster sampling and present situation study based on college students.SETTING: Department of medical psychology and behavior science in medical college of a university.PARTICIPANTS: Totally 154 comprehensive college students in south China were investigated.METHODS: Adopting self-esteem scale(SES) and social support questionnaire(SSQ) to conduct a self-evaluating investigation among 154 students in a comprehensive university in south China.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The scores on SES and SSQ on three dimensions for 154 college students.RESULTS: The boy college students got higher scores on self-esteem than that of girls' ( t = 2. 510, P < 0: 05). Non-only-child college students' total scores and utilizations of social support were significantly higher than only child college students(t= -1.983, P <0.05; t= -3.475, P=0.01).The self-esteem was significantly positive correlated with the utilization of social support.CONCLUSION: College students'self-esteem is related to social support.
