Objective To explore the potential clinic value of NSE and S-100 in the serum as early diagnosis in the Bilirubin Encephalopathy(BE)of newborns. Methods 46 neborns were choosed as group A with TSB≥342μmol/L;48 with TSB(256-342)μmol/L as group B;and 30 full term deliveries newborns as normal control group C.Their TSB,NSE and S-100 in the serum were measured.Meanwhile, the BAEP scores were carried out. Results The concentrations of NSE,S-100 and the BAEP scores in newborns of group A and B had significant differences as compared with group C (P <0.05 ).Correlation analysis showed that there was a significant positive correlation between serum NSE,S-100 protein and TSB(P <0.05),while there was a negative correlation between serum NSE, S-100 protein and BAEP scores(P <0.05).Conclusion Serum NSE and S-100 protein can use as early diagnosis targets for the the Bilirubin Encephalopathy(BE)of newborns clinically.

Objective To evaluate the significance of cytometric beads array(CBA)in the detection of Th1/Th2/Th17 cytokine in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods The levels of 7 cytokines (IL-2,IL-4,IL-6,IL-10,TNF,IFN-γ and IL-17A) were detected by CBA according to the instruction of BD CBA Human Th1/Th2/Th17 Cytokine Kit(BD Biosciences,USA)in the serum of 98 patients with tuberculosis(38 sputum-smear positive and 60 sputum-smear negative)and 79 healthy individuals. Then analyze the relationship and differences among these groups. Results Except IL-17A,the level of IL-2,IL-4,IL-6,IL-10,TNF,IFN-γwas higher in the patients group than control group; As to IL-2,IL-4,IL-10 and IFN-γ,the sputum-smear positive group had a higher level than control group, but the sputum-smear positive group had no difference with sputum-smear negative group.Com-pared with sputum-smear negative group, the sputum-smear positive group have a higher level of IL-6 and TNF.Conclusion IL-6 and TNF can be used to monitor the prognosis of tuberculosis.Meanwhile,CBA is sensitive, could detect several cytokines once with less sample consumption and time, thus could be applied for the monitor of tuberculosis progress.

Chinese Circulation Journal 2017;32(3):284-287
Objective: To evaluate the applications and problems of statistical methods for articles published in《Chinese Circulation Journal》. Methods: We reviewed the statistical methods for original articles published in《Chinese Circulation Journal》in 2010, 2011 and 2015; general status with problems was analyzed and the situations were compared among different years. Results: A total of 404 articles were enrolled, statistical hypothesis testing was performed in 366 of them, 32 had descriptive statistics only and 6 articles were meta-analysis. The most frequently used statistical methods were student'st-test (57.4%), followed by chi-squared analysis (56.7%), analysis of variance (35.2%) and regression analysis (23.0%). The main statistical problems in Methods included in described method un-matched to really used method and insufifcient or wrong description. The proportion of insufifcient or wrong description in 2010 and 2011 was 36.6% (71/194), while in 2015 was 26.2% (55/210),P=0.02. The major wrong application of statistical approach was ignoring design with improper method and using unsatisifed precondition for speciifc analysis. The proportion of improper statistical method application in 2010 and 2011 was 19.1% (33/173), in 2015 was 19.7% (38/193),P=0.88. Conclusion: The quality of statistics was improved in 2015 than 2010 and 2011 for articles published in《Chinese Circulation Journal》; while there were still problems at certain degree, enhanced statistical review should be conducted in medical journals.

Objective To explore the protective effect of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) on cultured rat cortical neurons against glutamate (Glu)-induced injury and its mechanism. Methods Cortical neurons were primarily cultured from 1-day-old newborn Sprague-Dawley rats and then cultured for 7 d. The cortical neurons were divided randomly into 3 groups: control group,Glu group and BDNF group after identified with neuron-specific enolase (NSE) immunostaining. The cells of BDNF were treated with 50 ng/ml BDNF on day 6 for 24 h followed by cultured with 50 ?mol/L Glu for 0.5 h. While, the cells of Glu group were cultured with 50 ?mol/L Glu for 0.5 h on day 7. The control cells received no such treatments. On day 8,cell viability were determined by the colorimetric MTT assay. The morphological features of the neuron cells were observed under AO/EB fluorescence microscopy. Expressions of p75NTR,JNK and ERK were observed using Western blot analysis. Results On day 8,the primary cortical neurons grew well. BDNF protected cortical neural cells from Glu injury. Cell viability of BDNF group was (1.14?0.06),significantly higher than that of Glu group (0.72?0.10,P

Oxaliplatin-loaded nanostuctured lipid carriers (OP-NLC) were prepared by ultrasonic emulsification method. And its optimal prescription was selected by orthogonal design. The laser light scattering technique, zeta potential analyzer, TEM, DSC, XRD and HPLC were employed to study the physicochemical parameters of OP-NLC, which displayed in terms of particle size, zeta potential, crystalline, drug loading and encapsulation efficiency. The results showed that OP-NLC had an average diameter of (111 +/- 20) nm, zeta potential of (-27.4 +/- 13.1) mV, encapsulation efficiency of (77.4 +/- 2.5) % and drug content of (0.8 +/- 1.5) mg mL(-1). TEM, DSC and XRD indicated that OP-NLC was spherical and the drug was dispersed as nanoparticles by means of non-crystalline. The in vitro release test showed that the drug could be sustained-released from NLC in buffer solution (pH 4.5) after a burst release in initial phase.

The serum TSH levels of 107 infants with subclinical hypothyroidism (SH) were > 20 mIU/L after 1-8 check-up, along with FT4, TT4, within low normal range. After given small dosage L-T4, for 4 weeks, blood TSH level obviously descended while FT4, TT4, ascended (all P <0.01). Seven cases of thyroid hypogenesis and 7 strumas were found by ultrasonography. It seems appropriate to use dosage of 3-4 μg·kg·-1·d-1 L-T4 in treating SH.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of SMILE regimen for NK/T-cell lymphoma. Methods From November 2006 to February 2008, 5 patients with relapsed and 5 with first treatment NK/T-cell lymphoma were involved in this study. These patients were treated with SMILE regimen including methotrexate, isofosfamide, L-asparaginase and etoposide.1 patient were treated with autolognus hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (AHSCT), and 2 patients received local regional radiation following SMILE. Results Among 10 patients, 8 were eligible to response evaluation. The overall response rate for whole group was 50 %(4/8) without complete remission. The overall response rate for both previously untreated and relapsed patients were 50 %(2/4). Major toxicity were bone marrow supression and transient transaminase elevation, the incidence of grade Ⅲ -Ⅳ neutroponia was 65 %, and febrile neutropenia was 25 %, Grade Ⅲ transaminase elevation was 10 %. Other toxicities were mild, no treatment-related mortality occurred. 26.1% cycles discontinued due to severe side effect. Conclusion SMILE may be an effective regimen for relapsed or refractory NK/T-cell lymphoma while significant toxicities were observed. Further investigation is requried before SMILE become a standard combination for relapsed or refractory NK/T-cell lymphoma.
