Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2003;0(04):-
Objective To investigate the effect of ultrashortwave diathermy on pulmonary hypertension in patients with chronic cor pulmonale(CCP), and its mechanism. Methods Eighty-seven cases of acute phase CCP were divided into 2 groups: an ultrashortwave treatment group, in which 45 patients were treated with both ultrashortwave diathermy and conventional treatment; and a control group, in which 42 patients received regular treatment. The plasma levels of VEGF, ET-1 and the PaO_2, mPAP and FEV1.0 in the two groups were measured before and after treatment. Results In contrast to the control group, the FEV1.0 and PaO_2 of the experimental group were remar-kably increased, while their VEGF, ET-1 and mPAP were significantly decreased after treatment. VEGF and ET-1 were negatively related to PaO_2, and positively related to mPAP. Conclusions Ultrashortwave therapy is effective in treating pulmonary hypertension in patients with CCP. The mechanism for this may involve the synthesis and release of VEGF and ET-1.
2.Medical Image Coding Based on Lifting Wavelets Transform and SPIHT
Chinese Journal of Medical Physics 2010;27(2):1755-1757,1780
Objective:It proposed a new arithmetic of medical image coding based on the lifting scheme wavelets and the set partitioning in hierarchical trees. Methods: Due to the computational complexity of the traditional wavelet, the lifting scheme, which could speed up the fast wavelet transform, was adopted instead of the traditional wavelet transform. With the comprehensive utilization of SPIHT and arithmetic coding, it could achieve to code medical images. Results: At a range of compression ratio, the peak signal to noise ratio was markedly improved, and it could ensure the quality of the reconstruction of medical image to meet the medical image data storage and transmission needs. Conclusions: The simulation experiments show that at the same bit rate, the peak signal to noise ratio is markedly improved.

Objective To analyze the mechanical mechanism of suburethral slings by measuring the mechanical properties of female pig urethra wall and polypropylene mesh. Methods The uniaxial tension tests of 49 female pig urethra wall strips and 27 polypropylene mesh samples were performed to test the mechanical properties. Results The stress and strain of urethra wall displayed a parabola shape and its elastic modulus was proportional to the square root of stress as well as the strain. The maximum calculated elastic moduli of the urethra wall were 0.806 MPa and 0.818 MPa correspondingly calculated with stress and strain. The elastic modulus of polypropylene mesh was(6.977?1.095) MPa.The ultimate stress of polypropylene mesh was significantly higher than that of the urethra wall, and the ultimate strain of polypropylene mesh was significantly lesser than that of the urethra wall. The calculation results suggested that the suburethral slings treatment of poly-propylene mesh decreased the deformation to 1/3 of the untreated stress urinary incontinence. Conclusion Polypropylene mesh has special mechanical properties that suit suburethral slings and enhance the support to the urethra, and improve the continence.

Objective: To investigate the regulation of respiratory syncytial virus CTL epitope fused with G protein antigen fragment G1 to the specific immunoresponses. Methods: The recombinant plasmid pET-DsbA-G1 or pET-DsbA-G1F/M2 was transferred into E.coli BL21(DE3) and the fusion protein DsbA-G1F/M2 or DsbA-G1 was expressed. The expressing product was induced and purified by affinity chromatography. The two proteins were used to immunized BALB/c mice i.p, respectively. Serum and spleen cells were collected regularly. RSV-specific CTL responses were measured by MTT, IgG and IgG1 and IgG2a antibodies by ELISA, neutralizing antibodies by plaque reduction assay. Results: The recombinant proteins were expressed successfully and the purity was over 90% after purified by affinity chromatography. The protein DsbA-G1F/M2 induced significant RSV-specific CTL responses, while DsbA-G1 without CTL epitope did not induce detctable CTL responses. Strong IgG antibody responses were elicited, indicated by both. IgG1 and IgG2a titers induced by DsbA-G1F/M2, while only IgG1 was induced by DsbA-G1.The ratio of IgG1/IgG2a was downregulated significantly. Both antigens induced high level of neutralizing antibodies, but the latter was a little lower. Conclusion: DsbA-G1F/M2, the fusion protein of a CTL epitope and G protein fragment G1 can induce both cellular immunity and humoral immunity. The activation of CTLs downregulates the ratio of IgG1/IgG2a.The more balanced immunoresponse is advantageous for improving safety of the candidate vaccine.
